The food is good here. We enjoyed the fig and goat cheese pizza and they were very accommodating when I asked for more veggies instead of potatoes

Food was good but service was very slow. One staff member was the host as well as the waiter for all tables. We had to ask to order, ask for the check, etc. While I appreciate keeping costs down, we need to get in an our for lunch.

Authentic italian food served in a friendly atmosphere. Irvington has become very desirable and the choices for reasonably priced restaurants is few.

We had a large party for a graduation celebration - we were treated so well, the variety of selection helped everyone find something they enjoyed and each dish was simply delicious. The staff could not have been nicer and they were so helpful with this event. No stress and a huge success. I recommend for large or intimate sized parties - always good, always on point and just a pleasure to go to.

Branzino was delicious. Too much vinegar in the hummus spread served with the bread basket. Many large parties inside and too noisy, so we dined on the back deck. Service was great. Would return.

This place is a gem. Each time I eat here I promise myself to come back sooner. We took my mother-in-law here for mother's day and she absolutely loved it! Please understand she hates going out to eat (she's off-the-boat Italian and thinks going to a restaurant is too extravagant) now she wants to know when we are going to bring her back to Il Sorriso!! I just love it here!

Wonderful food. Plenty of fish choices in addition to silky homemade pasta and rustic veal and chicken entrees. Can choose something simple or complex, depending on your mood. Highly recommend!

Always have given excellent review BUT service was very poor. Waited 50 minutes for dinner and 45 minutes for dessert. Poor. Food very good but poor poor service.

First time at this restaurant and although the food was very good, it was lacking a bit in atmosphere...certainly not a "date night" destination. Would probably go back to try the outdoor seating and views of Hudson.

This is a village gem. The food is fresh and authentic and delicious. The only negative I found is a personal one---there is only street parking and for one who has trouble walking, I drove around several times waiting for someone close enough to the restaurant to leave. It would be nice if they had a valet.

We asked for a table in a more quiet room, but we’ve been told that they are just about to refurnish that room for the next day, so we’ve got a table in front of the door to the kitchen although there was plenty of tables available. During the whole dinner, the room we asked for was not refurbished and the two parties sitting there stayed as long as we. When I pointed it out to the waiter TWICE he just looked at me and said ” it wasn’t me who said that about the other room”. No apology, no attempt to move us, nothing. Worst service ever!!!! We will definitely never go back and we will warn everyone we know about this place. The food was completely tasteless and definitely not Italian . Except for the tiramisu which was very good, probably they’ve bought it somewhere else. Don’t go there! The place was Almost empty for good reason.

Never even sat down. Arrived on time. Restaurant was half empty. Three different people said someone will be right with you. 15 MINUTES LATER AND BEING TOTALLY IGNORED BY A WAITER, BARTENDER AND COOK WE LEFT!!! Called River City Grill around the corner and they had a table for us right away. Friends overheard the cook tell customers it was not a good night. Good or bad you acknowledge customers waiting at the door. Horrible customer service and four potentially new patrons will never be back!!!

Food great; owner very personable. Staff should take lessons from owner. Would try again when not restaurant week. Pork chop was fantastic and sides were too. Please please ask staff to be friendly and at least smile! Food is too good not to be recognized.

We went for Hudson Valley Restaurant week. Food was excellent. We would have ordered off the main menu if the Restaurant Week selections were not we wanted, but there was no need. Both dishes were superb. Unfortunately service was disjointed. Not sure if they were understaffed for a Saturday night or overwhelmed. Good service until after the main course was served. Waited 20+ minutes for the table to be cleared and dessert to be ordered. Waited another 20 minutes for dessert to be received, which was mixed up as the order was lost in the waiter shuffle. The wait for the bill was also quite long. Other patrons in our row of tables had the same issues with the wait times, which was too bad as the food was good.

We were there for restaurant week. There was only one waiter for the whole restaurant and he was working very hard, but it means service was slow. We all really enjoyed the food! Beautiful view of the river, if the restaurant interior is a bit dated and old-fashioned.

It was restaurant week and they were horribly understaffed. We waited forever to be seated and then to get waited on. 2 of the meals were good when they finally arrived. We couldn’t get anyone to come to see us so when they finally came over we told them and got the check. Never going back

While moderately priced, the food was uneven. The seafood pasta was good but the pizza was not. The garlic bread had so much garlic on it to be inedible (along with cheese which was an unwanted addition). The spaghetti bolognese was also good. The service was not friendly, as the waiter seemed to have an attitude and forgot one of the drinks. The ambience was nice and one would hope that the owner could make a few changes to improve the food and service and make this well-located neighborhood eatery a better value.

We enjoyed a delicious meal at Il Sorriso. The dining room is always pleasant and cozy. The food was excellent. Only complaint is that the staff was short handed and that was very obvious to us. There was no host/hostess to greet us and seat us. Our waiter was covering the entire dining room for most of our visit until another, what seemed to be "fill-in", waiter showed up. We had to wait a long time to order dessert and coffee which made us hastily request the check when we had out server's attention. Other than the short handed staff, we enjoyed our visit very much and we will go back.

William and his staff provided another amazing dinner for my wife and I on Valentine's Day. Menu was excellent as was the service. Certainly gets the "mangiababy" approval!

We went on a Saturday evening as a table of 10. We waited over an hour for our food and it wasn’t even crowded. The service was terrible that evening. The shrimp Caesar salad was inedible. Drowning in dressing. The kids pasta with butter was also drowning in butter.
