Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.

What Insiders Are Saying
Ivan Ramen is an extremely popular ramen spot from Japan, now in the Lower East Side.
It is over-praised in chef’s table. The ramen soup is really salty and the pork is not seasoned........
No fuss place for GREAT food! Although we had reservations we had to wait out in the cold for a while since the place is so tiny. That’s my only issue. My kids loved the pork buns and their ramen. The fried chicken was outstanding and we all had a hard time stopping from overeating it was that good.
Great food. Highly recommend the shio and the tofu Coney Island.
This was one of the most recommended places for ramen but we didn’t think so. We ordered 6 different dishes and truly enjoyed 2. It was an okay place is what it felt like after all the hype. The service was good and people were friendly but not the best Ramen I had or the Boa
The ramen is delicious! My only issue is that they really try to rush you out the door so that they can seat more people
We took our Mom here and she wasn't that thrilled with a more risky dish she ordered (which both myself and the waitress warned her of). At no cost, the hostess replaced her dish. It was awesome and thoughtful-- great experience. I LOVED my main course and the appetizers were outstanding as well.
Great food. They had a good system for getting the tables turned over quickly
Good noodles, mediocre broth. Not worth the hype.
lived up to the hype! got the chicken broth ramen, sake, pork buns, friend chicken and brussells. all great
Great spot. Friendly, knowledgeable staff with great recommendations. Great appetizers that you won’t find at other ramen locations.
The Best. Second visit just as good as first visit. Can’t wait for the third visit. If I lived in NY I would dine at Ivan Ramen weekly!
The service was very efficient.
Unfortunately the food was overrated.
I ordered a shio ramen - it was served very fast but the soup was cold. The portion size was small (I am happy that) but the given the high price, wasn’t good value for money. I ordered an extra portion of special char siu (soy braised pork belly). It was way too salty and not umami.
Omg best Ramen ever! Cool and Quick service❤️
Incredible place and the vegetarian ramen amazing, it worth every penny
The pickled daikon is something that I would request as my last meal. The ramen is delicious and the service is great!
I paid almost 50 bucks for an entry, ramen and beer, overvalued. Nice place, good experience.
We are TOTAL FANS and our recent meal a few days ago was even better than a few months before. Much to our ecstatic surprise, the roast pork musubii were brought back after a few years hiatus from the Clinton Street location. They come 2 to an order, so we had to have 3 orders for our appetizers. We took a break to split a bowl of Chicken Paitan (rye noodles ramen with broth) which we think might have been even better than the Shio Ramen. Splitting the bowl was very close to a mistake because we underestimated how great the Paitan was. For dessert, what could be better than another pork musubi?
Fantastic food, Ivan Ramen has always made a strong showing whenever I stop by. Though the experience centers on ramen, the menu is diverse and interesting (both in terms of appetizers and entrees). They have a notable beverage list as well. The story of Ivan Ramen is highly interesting, and is on Netflix's "Chef's Table" season 3 for anyone interested.
Went here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Appetizers were very good. Ramen was amazing. Server asked about food allergies and made great recommendations around them. Definitely my new go to place for ramen.
Service was ok , not bad
Just that i had to get up and ask for my order since they forgot (extra noodles)
Had to eat here after seeing the Chef’s Table episode. Tried some of the chef specials - the chicken ramen is fantastic, triple pork triple garlic noodles were smoky and rich. Nice selection of beer and sake. Staff is really helpful and friendly. Love being able to make reservations and get Ramen without standing in line outside for hours.
Superb ramen. Aubergine and friend chicken starters were amazing as well.
Good pairing with local craft beers.
It is the best ramen I have had. I didn't like ramen until I went to Ivan ramen.
Perfect! The best ramen i Ever had!
Small size dish..
Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The host/waiter dressed as the joker was on top form. Very informative and at time very funny. The food spoke for its self. Would deffo go for the recommended dishes. Thanks very much.
In a side note I left my my blue jacket there-think that was due to the sake :)
Had high expectations and it certainly didn’t diasappoint.
Yes...I went because of David Chang and Chefs Table. I was excited to find myself in New York with time to go. On my trip I ate at 2 different Michelin * restaurants, but Ivan Ramen was on par, if not better. We ordered most of the appetizers. The Tofu Coney Island was insanely delicious. The mushroom “chili” was unreal like nothing I’ve even had before...umami heaven! The daikon killer as a pallet reset with the vinegar great crispy top. For Ramen I had the Tripple Pork; very rich, tasty; Unlike any Ramen I’d ever had...don’t forget the pickles which made me reminisce of sushi. Wait, the pork buns!!! Ahh, all too, too, good. Just go!!’ Also, server was very informative, accommodating.
This place was all that I expected it to be, a punch of flavor and character! We had done our research on the menu and had anticipations coming in, all of them being exceeded! Our server was extremely knowledgeable, leading us through the highlights of the menu and guiding us well. I had the triple pork and garlic ramen, and I think the whole table agreed this was the star of the show! Highly recommend! . We will absolutely return when we visit NYC again!
The ramen was spot on as always, however the service was almost non existent. We saw our server to order our food and for the check. He even tried taking the menu out of my boyfriend's hand before he ordered which was odd. I've sat at the bar previously and had amazing service and banter, but this time just felt like we were being shuffled in and out. Sort of a bummer.
Amazing ramen and very nice service !! Totally recommend
Impressive food and impressive service. Don’t skip the Japanese fried chicken.
Had really high expectation before coming, didn’t met the expectation after the visit but it’s still good ramen. Not extraordinary which is the bar I had.
We were visiting this place quiet often 6 months ago and ramen always was great, but it WAS NOT this time. It was watery ( rich taste disappeared), it was warm (not hot as "noodle can finishing up" in the hot substance), way too much noodles in my bowl... Overall, very very UPSET! Hopefully someone will read it , or Ivan himself will read it, and will fix it as this time ramen was not even close to what it was before. Lamb also was over salted... Great place can be ruined by workers who does not care.
So dope. I love this place so much. The chicken paitan ramen was so good. There is a reason it is Ivan’s favorite! The Japanese fried chicken is a go-to for sure.
Service was impeccable! Super accommodating all the way from the first phone call (to move around the reservation) to us paying the bill. I was looking to be wow’d by the ramen we had (shio and paitan) but everything else we had was amazing. I Was holding the ramen to a higher standard so that’s why I gave it 4 stars for the food.
This is my second time going all the way to NYC just for Ivan Ramen. I was running a little late due to traffic and was able to change my reservation to an hour later than scheduled; the staff assisted me in this and I was able to make it in time for ramen with friends! Food is delicious as always! The best ramen in the world!
Always a Experience! & food is always delicioussss.
Great food with a good vibe. Make sure to reserve as it gets packed quite easily.
