   Peska underwent major a major change in their menu and cuisine, not sure it was for the better. Entrées on the menu are way overpriced for what's received. The "Latin Inspired" menu leaves much to be desired. Maybe it's the locations that dictates the menu prices, but it's not a good value or worthy of what's served. My fish dish had bland flavors and wasn't enough to call an entrée, it would have made a nice appetizer if it had some flavor. Not impressed! My wife's Hanger Steak was very tough and sliced into small pieces in an effort to make the meat seem less tough. Having said that, we won’t be returning. If you have a desire to visit Peska, I suggest you make it quickly, as they probably won’t be around long. However, the bar seems to be a spot for “trend chasers” so that might carry them for a while.

   Came with a group of 7 for Restaurant Week. Great portion sizes - especially for the value, and particularly considering that it was 4 courses. But the service was poor - poor enough to have brought down the overall experience

   Maybe it is because it was a Monday.... Everything seemed a little bit off. The food was not at the high level we have had before. Watermelon Salad tasted like they had made it a few days ago. Service was a bit slow and unengaged. I can't even say it was because they were busy. They really weren't. It was not terrible but not what you have come to expect from this high caliber place.

   Peska, is a beautiful restaurant- but unfortunately the wait staff is not up to the task-- when plates are coming to the table and It hasn't even been cleared yet - for the next course there is a problem - especially when there are wait staff that could have just taken the dishes . It's like they don't understand that the overall experience- will help their wallets as well- luxury settings but severely missing the mark on service - But I must say the food and drinks were good I promised the GM I would give them one more shot and I will - hopefully they can get it together - I suggest getting the waterguys from DaMarco as your staff - they at least know great restaurant service

   The restaurant was overall good, and here is the "BUT" , but the people whom go to this restaurant are very "snooty" and made us feel like outsiders especially the hostess he did not even look me in the eyes when talking to me. The waitress was excellent.

   Tried this place for Houston Restaurants week menu. I will say that I tried to look this place up online first -- and found Peska Cocina Latina on yelp. In addition, there were printed reviews inside the restaurant for Peska Seafood Culture. Not sure why so many name changes? Food was okay. Was there primarily to try out the seafood. Large portions for fried fish for the little ones, but the cilantro rice was a bit buttery. I tried the grouper -- it was pretty decent. I thought the hanger steak was good -- but my companion thought it was "meh." Overall, a good try for HRW -- but felt like there's other seafood restaurants available during HRW with better tasting options for similar price points.

    It was good, but not the greatest. The pasta de camarones was a bit too oily and the short rib was a little fattier than what I'd prefer. The doughnuts were great, but the carrot cake was dry. Good service & ambience. Wish they had a brunch option for Saturday.

    I had to remind the server that he had skipped our first course. There were 4 separate couples seated on 4 separate tables in about 8 feet of space making any type of real conversation impossible. All 4 couples ordered one of the Houston Restaurant Week specials. 3 couples complained that the food was very spicy. The portions for entrees of the Grouper, Redfish, and Hanger Steak was a 2 to 3 ounce portion. Extremely small and the grouper just tasted blah. The only smart one ordered the whole fish. Guess they could not find a way to cut it in quarters. Yes I know all of this because we were all crammed into that small a space. And no we did not know each other. The spacing would not allow the servers to even walk between the tables; they had to reach over to serve the food. Left the restaurant and went and ordered a pasta salad from a local place down the road to get full. It is silly and bad business to reduce the portions to such small portions. If they cannot delivery a respectable meal for the budgeted price then stop . Just do not plan to participate in the promotion. But wait then they would lose all of the publicity . So, I cannot and will not recommend this restaurant .

    We went there for Houston Restaurant Weeks. The food was generally good. My friend really liked the watermelon salad and the grouper. I had the hanger steak which was excellent and the short rib empanadas which were very good. The service was good, and the restaurant was attractive inside. It was a worthwhile experience, and I would recommend it to a friend.

    We went for HRW 2017 and the food was mediocre. My husband ordered from the dinner menu and his fish was raw and not cooked fully. Service was not the best. The staff didn't seemed embarrassed or concerned that the fish was not cooked. The manager then came and apologies and then took the item off our bill. We didn't have time to wait for another one to be cooked as we had to catch a movie.

    We visited Peska for their HRW menu, which was outstanding. The fried oyster appetizer was wonderful and the fried branzino was so interesting to look at and really delicious. We really enjoyed our meal, and the doughnuts for dessert were a perfect ending, light and flavorful.

    Not enough service staffs for the size of restaurant. Slow to get a service. Noisy music during dinner makes it difficult to have a decent conversation without shouting. Appetizer was ordinary but Branzino was cooked right. It seems like an entirely different restaurant from previous Peska.

    The food is actually between 4-5*. I didn't give it a 5* because I thought the food was way spicier than it needed to be. I like the Spanish twist to the menu. We were disappointed that our first two wine selections from the menu were sold out. The donut dessert was fantastic!!!!!

    We came for HRW$35 for a 3 course meal. Appetizers :Soup tasted watery and salt less, watermelon salad was a chopped up watermelon with a few cheese crumbs on, the fried oysters should go with a little bit of more sauce , to try for my taste. The Entrees :we had all fish dishes and the short rib they were tasty. Dessert wise I would recommend the brownie & donuts .To keep in mind it's was/ is for a good cause. It was an okay experience.

    Came in for Restaurant Weeks. The menu choices were fewer than advertised on line. The manager however allowed us to order the omitted dishes. The pasta dish I had was swimming in olive oil. Very disappointing.

    This place is very nice, but the price point is way too high for what you are getting. I don't see this place lasting very long honestly. The servers were friendly, and overall it was fine - however, there are so many good brunch places that are a better value that I wouldn't come back.

    The restaurant didn't have any of our order choices, which were on the menu. The food and drinks were subpar for the price. We were very disappointed given that this restaurant had come highly recommended to us. We won't be coming back. Really consider it a waste of our money.

    The sample menu on OpenTable is reflective of a much broader menu than that offered on this recent Tuesday night. Our waiter seemed disgusted when more than half of our party ordered steaks (albeit the name of the restaurant is "seafood and steaks"). My tea glass was only refilled once - at the end of our meal, and only when requested. Our meal was good but not outstanding. There are too many very good restaurants in Houston to deal with haughty service. PS Skip the butter cake dessert - it was awful.

    Came here Friday night with my wife to celebrate our anniversary, food was great, the salt baked branzino was wonderful. The restaurant was quiet for a weekend night. Don't order the lobster mac & cheese, they use surimi which isn't lobster. When I pointed this out to the waiter that he needs to tell the manager, nothing was done, still on my bill and no one came to follow up. Shame. Most restaurants in Houston has more integrity, if this is what they use as "lobster", no problem just let me know in advance when I order it, let me decide if I want it or not.

    The ambience and service was very nice. I have only been one other time but I feel that the food is very good but something is missing both times. I gave it a second shot bc I enjoyed the atmosphere but I am not sure I would go back.

    Third visit to Peska and have been pleased with the food and service each time. Quality ingredients well prepared. Nice cocktails as well. Furnishings could be made a bit more 'fine' for fine dining, including the use of sound absorbing materials, but still a nice restaurant and will go again.
