BETTER HALF is the restaurant that Atlanta built. Brought to you by Zach and Cristina Meloy, the couple behind the supper club PushStart Kitchen, BETTER HALF is a place where family is the inspiration and connecting over food is the focus. The ever-changing, seasonal menu reflects Zach's and Cristina's love for what they do, with the best ingredients from the South. Only one dish remains the same - the luxurious silk handkerchief pasta with wild mushrooms that Zach served to Cristina on their first date.

The restaurant offers two different tasting menus, a 9 Course ($75) and a 5 Course ($55) . Guests can also enjoy beverage pairings with each menu, for an additional cost. Zach can design a custom menu around any dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, gluten-free, etc.). Please give advance notice to be able to properly accommodate you.

This place is amazing. I'm a huge foodie. I like this restaurant for the experience as well as the food. I sat at the bar. I highly suggest sitting at the bar if you can. You get to interact with the chef's and watch them prepare your food. The chefs, waitress and the hostess were super nice. I enjoyed talking with them. Next time I'm in Atlanta, I'll definitely be back.

It came recommended along our travels. I met a college buddy in ATL for the Alabama vs. FSU college football kick off game. With all the tailgating we had planned, a cool, trendy Castro-pin for foodies seemed the best way to start the weekend. We elected for the 5 course tasting menu. The plates are smaller for this purpose. Just the right size to try various creative dishes. One course, the Chef brought to us. They had a good wine pairings and craft beers as well. Great place to eat for all types of diners.

The dessert was amazing! The entrees were just okay. We had a party of three, the pork was tough and the steak was not cooked enough. The other person in our party had the trout and it was good. The service was fantastic and enjoyed our server. We went during the week and it was not as busy as a weekend. The noise level was moderate and were able to converse well. I will definitely try it again, but maybe just for coffee and dessert.

Went for my birthday dinner with my parents and boyfriend and have already recommended to my friends and coworkers. The story of the owners (husband and wife) is amazing and the fact they are both working in the restaurant is different and refreshing. I would highly recommend the pasta!

We thoroughly enjoyed the nine-course tasting menu! We continue to be pleasantly surprised at the creative and truly tasty dishes every single time. We've been May times and will be back many more. Our server Patrick was courteous, funny and attentive. We highly recommend this place!

My wife and I had the opportunity to go to BH this week for a mid-week date night. I'll start of by saying we did not take one bite that wasn't excellent. The flavors and textures were spot-on the best we've had in a long time. I highly recommend doing a 3 or 5 course meal for the value, but that being said, we can't wait to go back so we can try some of the offerings off the course menu. Thanks for a great evening and we look forward to coming back soon.

This restaurant has a very creative menu with an artistic blending of flavors and textures. We have enjoyed Sunday brunch and a 3-course dinner with friends. We live in Dunwoody but the meal is worth the drive!

Level of service you would expect in France albeit with an alternative flare. Very good, creative food for all courses. Fun cocktails and good enough wine selection. My wife and I went during GA Restaurant Week when the "early bird" price was available all night. At full fare, it could be a little pricey but I am hoping to return soon for the 5 course prix fixe.

We tried BH because they were part of Georgia Restaurant Week. When we arrived for our reservation, we were about 10 minutes late. We apologized when we arrived, but to be honest, the remainder of the evening felt like we were being punished for being late. Anyhow, we ordered from the special restaurant week menu much to what appeared to be the waiter's disappointment. Not sure if he thought that would impact his gratuity or not, so we added an appetizer and drinks. The whole experience was over 2 hours for three and a half courses. Even paying with a credit card took them about 15 minutes to ring up. This was no short-staffed situation - this was simply poor service and their lack of interest in our experience. The table that was seated next to us, waited on by the same waiter experienced similar delays, but three people came over to them to apologize for their wait. I guess that kind of felt like salt in the wound for us. Our experience was very much influenced by the service. We would not recommend and would not try again. Too bad too, because it was our first time ever visiting.

Better half is a definite "hidden gem" in West Midtown and is a great dinner spot. The menu is very creative, with a variety of options that can be turned into three, four, or five course servings. The staff and service are both excellent as well.

I will definitely be back for the super creative menu and the delicious cocktails. It's a 2 minute drive from Atlantic Station if you're looking for great food after shopping or before a movie and want to avoid the big bustling restaurants and prefer a small, comfy, chef-driven meal.

This was our third time at Better Half and the food is always consistent and excellent. There was a glitch in the service that kept us waiting at our table prior to any waiter/waitress pouring water or asking for a drink order. We brought in our own wine and they waived the corkage charges because of the service glitch and were extremely attentive to us for the remainder of the meal. We will definitely be back again.

Each person in our group of four adults ordered an appetizer, main course, and dessert, and every single dish was excellent. Chefs at some restaurants strive so hard to be creative that they veer into weirdness with components that simply don't work together. Better Half offers creative mixes of foods, spices, and accompaniments that enhance the overall dish.

I enjoyed the visit and would recommend trying it out. However, we did the five course tasting menu. It seemed like they tried too hard to mix a bunch of ingredients together to make something unique. But some of the flavors together were odd. Portions are small. If I went back I would not do the tasting menu. It just did not seem that special. Service was good for the most part. Friendly, lively fun interior.

Excellence is inadequate to describe our experience at BETTER HALF. Our party of four mutually decided this was one of our very best fine dining experiences to date. Food portions are just the right size to allow enjoyment of each course's unique, delicious flavors. Wait staff and chefs very attentive, well trained, and just delightful to interact with.
