First time visiting and booked online reservation. The food was fairly authentic and good. I really booked a reservation here because it states in its ads that it has a piano lounge player. We came on a Saturday night and was thoroughly disappointed that there was no such person. Our table was extremely small and felt crowded the entire meal. The wine is overpriced and the noise level increased greatly as the night went on so trying to have a conversation wasn’t ideal. With all of the other great restaurants in the area, I wouldn’t go back. We’ve had real Italian in Boston and NJ, so this was ok compared to what we’re used to. We bought desserts to go. Though they were very good they were overpriced as well for the small portion size that you receive.
What a treat to go back after an absence of far too many years to find the charming, cozy restaurant with delicious food and wine. Wait staff was always a pleasure and remain so, attentive but not pushy.
Gorgeous cold Blue Point oysters to start, with warm fragrant house bread and then on to the entree.
Osso Bucco, which was what I craved was generous in portion, melt in the mouth tender and delicious, my husband loved his order of Saltimbocco. Nothing left on our plates, save the bone from mine. Chianti was perfect and we had the nerve to order dessert, mine the lovely, light lemon sorbet and my husband actually finished his lemon pie...Espresso was fragrant as always.
Who says you can't go back.....so glad we did, like being with old friends again.
Overall we loved the place. The capellini vegetarian dish was absolutely wonderful. Great basil sauce. The terra e mare seafood pasta dish, while good flavor and the seafood was cooked well, pasta was just too dry. Needed more sauce. The bottle of Valpolicella wine was excellent. Service was great. Would go back - they have an interesting menu and a great atmosphere.
We eat here frequently. This was one of the most bland meals I had ever had - anywhere. the chicken breasts with tomatoes and mushrooms. Will never order this again. Usually the specials are the best. This won't stop us from coming back, but I'll be much more selective.
Not very good.
My husband and I made a reservation which I recommend! The food was great and the service was good! The wine list was good and the wine was perfect for the meal!
Food was very good, lovely setting with the fireplace!
We are out of towers but always visit Ossetia. Consistently excellent service and very good food and value.
Service not as good as past visits. We had three servers and it was not well coordinated. Took way too long to bring our check. Follow up after we received our food not very good. Detracted from the dining experience.
Food and service were fabulous. Dinner is always great but they have a great bar/ bistro with food/ drinks/ and live music. Is a great place for a romantic dinner or even a group special occasion.
We ate there Thursday evening with a group of 12 friends. They gave us a quiet private room upstairs and could not have been more attentive. Our server was really pleasant, food was exceptional Italian cuisine. Excellent wine.
I ordered the special pasta of the day. The pasta was homemade and the best I've had in a long time. The meatballs and vegetables and the sauce on it was absolutely delicious!!
Very nice service and excellent food
Cute restaurant but food is nothing special. Ordinary Italian food.
Dined at Osteria D' Assisi and enjoyed a wonderful evening of authentic Italian fare. Everyone enjoyed their dish. The Osso Bucco was one of the best ever! Also, be sure to try the pizza. A very good wine list with a special page devoted to reduce-priced wines. You can locate some good finds there! Warm friendly service, in a comfortable setting. One minor complaint was the piano player, while quite good, sometimes drowned out the conversation. Overall an outstanding dining experience!
Best meal that I have ever had, in Santa Fe..service was impeccable..wine list complete..
Ambiance was lovely
They ran out of the of the item I wanted to order And the dessert was not as described on the menu
We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and seated. Wait staff was very attentive with water and bread brought immediately. The food was excellent. I had the bass with pesto and veggies. Fantastic. The seafood ravioli was excellent.
Food was good. We had a table for 3 that was barely big enough for 3 plates. Sat down with no table setting. Waiter was overworked. One guest received soup and salad at same time instead of as separate courses. Single wine glass selection was excellent. It was very very noisy.
Highly recommend. Fabulous food; excellent service; wonderful atmosphere. A perfect place to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. My husbands favorite restaurant in Santa Fe
The food was excellent. The service was great. I asked our sever for some olive oil with garlic and bread. The chef made up some garlic with other ingredients, that we used to dip our bread. That is going the extra distance.
Our disappointment was that there was no music that Monday night. We were told that the performers show up at will. We drove a long way, counting on having some music. I recommend that you call ahead of time and make sure that the "Piano Bar" will have a performer present. I recommend this place.
We are Santa Fe locals and have eaten at this restaurant for years. It is very good. On my last visit, I had the chicken parm (very good) and my husband had the lasagne. This was a Sunday lunch about 11:30 AM. They have a nice wine by the glass list, too. Don't hesitate to eat here....it's a Santa Fe gem.
Warm and inviting atmosphere. Good for an unhurried dinner; tables are spaced well to allow conversation. Would definitely return.
Great gluten free pasta and vegetarian options. Best lasagna ever.
I expected better. Appetizer (eggplant rotelli) was very good, I ordered branzini which was also very good. Risotto had grains in it that weren’t completely cooked and the dish was fairly tasteless. I know risotto can be difficult and problematic to cook in advance, so don’t do it if you can’t get it right. Companion had pasta Del Mar which he said was okay. For the money spent it wasn’t worth it and we won’t go back. There are so many dining options in Santa Fe don’t bother with this one.
Good lunch specials. We all had the pasta Carolina with salad or soup. Soup was a great vegetable mixture. Attentive service and outdoor dining. Lovely place to see lots of local friends.
Hopefully, it was an off night. Our appetizer came fairly quick and then it was 40 minutes to get our entree, ravioli that would have been premade. I suspect there is a restaurant shortage of help, the same thing happened the next night at a pizza restaurant.
Our waiter was very nice and provided free dessert. Make sure you tell the hostess you have a reservation and she notes it, we were marked as cancelled on open table.
The food is truly authentic - the calamari is spectacular. Light and cooked to perfection. We both got the special - Chilean Sea Bass - apparently a special dish every so often. Prepared to perfection - the capers a nice touch. A dish that needs to be more of a regular offering. We’re back on the east coast and will miss not having as many al fresco options. Thank you for a memorable date with my wife of 34 years.
This was our second visit to Osteria D'Assisi--the first time we had dinner inside--and it was just as enjoyable. We had lunch on the outside patio. The weather was perfect, the patio comfortable. We had martinis and Blue Point raw oysters to start. For the mains we each had the prosciutto panino, which came with arugula, tomatoes and fontina, on toasted ciabatta. Excellent! The French fries on the side were hot, crispy outside and very flavorful. (They're beer-battered!) What a lovely way to dine in Santa Fe in early autumn. Osteria D'Assisi is a neighborhood gem.
Very disappointed based on their own claims and prior reviews we read.
The patio was beautiful, the food was incredible- fresh, innovative and delicious, and Gabriella was delightful, patient and provided gracious and attentive service. Thanks for a wonderful evening
Been going there for 20 years. Food is still good but service and ambience have declined
Branzino was delicious, perfectly cooked. Waiter very efficient and friendly. Will definitely go back.
Lovely ambience, great service, great food and wine list, and homemade limoncello!
Osteria is my usual go to celebrate restaurant. We went to celebrate my son's 18 year birthday and was a bit disappointed in the service. The waiter forgot to take my father's order before going to another table, and when the food came out the presentation was horrible. One dish had the spaghetti noodles hanging off the plate, the polenta was served haphazardly on 2 other dishes. Although the food tasted fine, we were dissatisfied with most else. I'm still willing to give them another try and hope this was just an off night for Osteria.
Visited here while we were in Santa Fe on vacation. Excellent Italian food. Google said it was one of the top ten restaurants there. The wall paper and interior needs some serious modernization. It doesn't imbue the great food they have. Wish it was in New Jersey though!
Good food. Terrible, inattentive service. Overpriced. Would not return.
Four of us had dinner here. The guys had the osso buco which they both enjoyed very much. I wanted the branzino, but they were out of it, so upon the waiter recommendation I ordered the "special" mahi mahi. It would have been better without the cream sauce, not very good. Our fourth person ordered the "special" pumpkin ravoli which was too sweet for her. We were disappointed.
Food is authentic Italian. The service is unobtrusive yet attentive. Best food we have ever eaten Santa Fe.
The waiter was not very attentive. Had to ask for assistance from maitre’de. One table near us was extremely loud
