Our waiter Tristan was amazing. We went during the Tomato event. I had the Angelhair pasta with spinach and shrimp, I asked for no spice. My stepdad got the one with spice. The server (not Tristan) never asked who was getting which one bc they were not differentiated on which plate was which. I was given the spicy. The gelato was amazing, but the Tiramisu was kinda bland.

The food was good, nothing particularly special or unique, but solid. The service was exceptionally slow and the waitress pretty disinterested and inattentive. On the other hand, the young bus boy was outstanding. Very aware of refilling our water glasses, clearing plates, finding our waitress for us when she was no where to be found-we tipped him cash separately to tell him how much we noticed and appreciated him.

We had a wonderful meal, highlighted by the amazing heirloom tomato appetizers. The food was excellent and the service was terrific. Glad to see the restaurant was bustling tonight. And, the panna cotta was topped by an amazing and unbelievable tomato jam - I’d buy it if I could!

The service was sparse, and not super informative. The menu and seasonal offerings wasn't explained even though we had been asked and said we hadn't been there before. The food overall tasted greats, but a few misses. The Cacio e Pepe was far too oily and could have used a lot more black pepper. The pizza was really good though. The cocktails were only okay. Each one tasted a bit off, but drinkable. The food overall still impressed my family from out of town.

We celebrated our wedding here five years ago, but the restaurant has deteriorated since then. The service was unreliable, and the menu had limited options. I believe it's time to move on.

Great place. Plates are on the smaller side, but a great value and not overfilling. We dined outside and is enjoyable. Our server Avery was hospitable and attentive. The Chicken Mario and the beef spare rib were fantastic. Recommended.

Not for the Chicago convention crowd experience if your taking a customer out. Standard canned Italian food. No steaks or veal. They did have a good wine list.

Wonderful dinner. Manager Fidelma was professional and suggested that the outdoor patio might be more enjoyable tonight and it was. We had the most efficient and knowledgeable wait person. Her name was Avery and ask for her. Food: perfect starter of margherita pizza for four of us plus the capers salad with heirloom tomatoes delicious Short rib entre one of the best ever. Order of rigatoni with mushrooms enough for two to share and my Chicken Mario was a copy of what I had in Florence at Sostanza. Topped off with a dark chocolate tart and coffee. Delicious and very reasonably priced. Great location too.

The only things I did not like are the 3% service charge which they will take off the bill if you ask but of course it is an uncomfortable thing to do (intentionally by them) and the short rib had a lot of fat on it.

A true 5 star experience. Beautiful ambience, soft & romantic. The staff was attentive & graceful. Our waiter was Antonio, I was so impressed with his personable attitude. The general manager greeted us as if we were at a family home; Jeff definitely goes up & above for his customers!! Outside seating was gorgeous & inside was surprisingly unique yet cozy. The food was the true star of the show, ever single bite was delicious & delightful. Highly recommended to everyone & anyone!!

Service not great - server was very sweet but our mains showed up before our appetizers and our salad never arrived. The pizza was excellent though - it’s been 14 years since we were there and it tasted just the same!

I can’t judge the whole restaurant, so we were in the small hall of the restaurant, which is very unpretentious in design and comfort, and the toilet for this hall was sad. I will refrain from criticizing the menu, but in general, this retsoran will be ok to go to lunch, but no more.

Very nice restaurant! The hubby and I sat outside and had a wonderful dinner. He had the rigatoni with the short rib Ragu and I had the spaghetti pomodoro. Drinks were strong and the service was great.

Avoid making a reservation at 3pm. They’ll tell you have until 4pm to be out because their lunch service ends at 3 (the dining room reopens at 4:30 for dinner). Not sure why they would even accept a reservation at 3. Food was fine. We went for the gluten free pasta and it was good (had to be ordered off the dinner menu).

Cheers to Mike for making us feel like the people in the room. Special onion appetizer is a must. The roasted garlic and crusty bread started us off well. Caccio and Pepe pasta was over the top delicious. My wife’s seafood stew was spot on. Scallops and shrimp cooked perfectly. Always a treat to dine here and the price value remains irresistible after all these years.

Our waitress, Heather Grace, was friendly and knowledgeable about suggestions and wine pairing. We sat on the patio and weather was perfect for an enjoyable dinner. The ciabatta bread with roasted garlic was spectacular! Great wine list, excellent pasta dishes.
