Sad to see such a precipitous decline of a first rate restaurant from "fabulous" in June to "unacceptable" in October. Half of the original selections were gone along with the overall quality of the food. A few extra appetizers on a standard diner menu does not make this a tapas experience.

We read a Zagat article for 14 hottest restaurants around Vegas and were visiting in the Summerlin area. Four of us went to dinner and found the food to be poor. The calamari appetizer was limp and bland. The paella dish had dry chicken and the rice was stuck to the paella pan. The restaurant was empty except for us. Wish we had made another choice.

Agree at neighborhood restaurant that is Strip guality at neighborhood prices. A place to return to frequently for excellent food, wonderful service, pleasant ambiance and fair prices. We will be regulars.

This was the best paella we've ever eaten. Tapas were very good. A bit noisy. Will return when it's cool enough to eat outside.

I thought overall Tapas was pretty good. To the hostess, server, owner, food and environment. My only criticism was that I left still hungry. It was me, my wife and my teenager son. We ordered about 6 tapas plates and a couple drinks (why do they charge refills for lemonade?) The total was about $91. That's a little high considering I left still wanting more to eat. Same with my son. Oh well. Now we know.

Food was actually pretty good, but extremely overpriced for the portions your receive. For example, the meatballs were $9 for three and the paella (which I thought would be a large portion) was barely enough for one person as an entree type portion (on their website they advertise it serves four) for $34. Now, if this were the best food I've ever eaten, I'd be okay with it, but I'd say it was only slightly above average. There service was also nothing to brag about with our waiter barely checking in on us throughout the entire dining experience. I wouldn't go back except maybe for a quick snack.

We ordered seveal of the tapas on the menu to get a realistic idea of the quality and flavors. The sweet onion cocas were the best item, followed by the crispy calamari and thew warm olives. The medjool dates were tasty, but they were wrapped in thinly-sliced bacon, not pancetta like the menu stated. The grilled vegetables were good (if you like grilled vegetables. re was a diced potato dish that was truly pointless, and made worse by the huge dollop of garlic aioli. The empanadas were bland; they could have used some piquillo peppers or onions. Incredibly, they do not have cava, which is often enjoyed with tapas. The red sangria was an acceptable, if heavier, substitute. As mentioned, the portions are very small, but a few plates shared by two might be adequate.

The food was delicious, the cocktails were perfect for the menu, and the decor is spot on for a tapas restaurant. The manager, Peter, introduced himself and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. I was wishing there were a few more small plate options. But I trust Stratta's decision to not overpopulate an already tasty selection. Our waiter, Richard, was also awesome. Go and see for yourself!

Four of us had dinner Sunday night. Food is good our waiter was great. The down side potions are TINY and dining room is noisy While the food was good the price you pay for enough tapas to make it a meal makes the experience less tha stellar

Food very good. Rock Shrimp, clams and chorizo, grilled peppers. other, all tops. Ceviche was bland. Smallest tapas portions I have ever experienced made me choke on prices. I'd go back for the food, but they need to rethink portions. Based on that, I would only recommend this place to a friend with a strong caution. I may not return.

Bartender was attentive until a female sat down. We then had to pour our own drinks from pitcher. Sat at table. No problem with waiter. The food.... horrendous The roasted cauliflower was burnt not roasted, sweet onion flatbread had a sauce on it - it was supposed to be aioli. We have no idea what it was but it was aioli. The mixta paella was overlooked and under seasoned Probably the worst restaurant I can remember going to. A photographer from The Review Journal asked if we would mind having our picture taken with a waiter approaching our table. We said no. Did not want to be associated with this restaurant

The dining area was half full and yet incredibly loud. So much so that my guest and I had to yell at each other for conversation. The food was mediocre at best. The menu it's self was great and in well proportion however the execution of the dishes were less than desirable. We had the seafood civche which tasted like canned tuna, the rock shrimp which was nothing more than shrimp overcooked in boiling hot butter, the lamb chops which were over cooked with an incredibly bland yogurt, and the bacon wrapped dates. The dates were good however nothing stellar. With the exception of the civche, presentation was also lacking. We had to veer down into our dishes just to see it. Personally, I enjoy being able to have a great view of the food i am eating. Additionally, there was a lack of color contrast, even with the civche. The service and staff were very professional and cortious. The ambiance was fantastic as well as the wine selection. Great location. Overall, the food is what came up short. I'll give it one more try but in summary I was not impressed.

I've had the luck of experiencing Chef Stratta's delicious creations in the past. So, while I had the chance, I thought I'd take some friends to his newest endeavor. We had an incredible time. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a bottle which wasn't available, but we were offered an option that was just as delicious, more expensive but at the same price as what we ordered. Then the food came. We could have eaten all night long because it was so delicious. I definitely have to work my way through this menu!

I spotted a write-up in Desert Companion and since my wife was out of town, I was on my own and decided to try a new place. I like Tivoli and this. looked interesting. it was early in the evening and midweek, so it wasn't crowded and I chose a table in the back next to a large window with a view of the outdoors patio. Service was excellent, but if you're simply looking for someplace to chat with some friends over a beer and a burger, go elsewhere. In fact, i would suggest that there be no conversation permitted at the table when the food arrives. It would be a sin not to give your full attention to the food and savor every single bite. In addition to a glass of wine, I had three tapas, starting with the cheese plate. I later told my wife that it was the best tasting food I had eaten in a long time.

I'm not sure why it took me so long to write this review. I won't go into specifics, but for the price...I should have been able to expect more. There was nothing to write home about regarding the food or service. You should never leave a place spending over $120 for two people thinking "What did we eat again?" I'd say if you want tapas, avoid this place and try something else.

My lady and I have always enjoyed small plates. Therefore, we decided to venture out to Alex Stratta's Tapas. What a nice experience. The décor was uplifting, with enjoyable background music. Our server, Eric, was kind enough to take the time to explain the menu to us as it was our first time at the restaurant. Throughout the evening he was attentive, but not obtrusive. The food was excellent as expected. From the quinoa salad to the fried cauliflower, with gazpacho and kale included we enjoyed a healthy grouping of small plates. The curry chicken so seasoned so perfectly that the you could taste the chicken and barely the curry. Then came the big plate, my favorite a rack of lamb. The serving was a full rack, yet was of such a perfect size, that it was not overwhelming. The accoutrements were not so filling so as to take away from the rack of lamb. Desserts were the proper size and once again were not overwhelming. Now that the Mr. Stratta is going to meet with a paella master, in Spain, we will look forward to returning for the paella.+-

I REALLY wanted to love this place, Tapas is (are?) my jam. It started out quite well. We sat at the bar as we'd arrived early for our reservation. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. The bar area was lovely, the restaurant area, less so. I had one of their signature cocktails , my husband had a beer, though not one of their local drafts as they were out of them, and an order of chicken croquetas, both were delicious. At the table we ordered the empanadas, potatoes brava, grilled chicken, dates and another round of the croquetas. Nothing was bad, but not really outstanding either. The potatoes were kinda boring and maybe it's just me but we felt like each of the dishes had been done better by our old standby Firefly. We'll probably give them another shot, but will not rush to do so.

The best part of the experience was the blonde hostess at the front that was vibrant and matched our energy level. Immediately after, we were "shock greeted" by a man and woman at the bar that disrupted the natural flow of being seated. The waiter was adequate, aside from a somewhat pushy suggestion that we loved our meal (which we did not). The bus persons were on top of waters and plates. The atmosphere was extremely noisy, difficult to hear my dining partner over the horrible acoustics. There is almost no sound baffling in the entire restaurant, so you can easily hear the conversations of the entire restaurant. Now, the drinks. We tried 2 signature drinks that were bland and unimpressive. The first was a watermelon rum-based mojito that lacked rum taste or flavor. Second, a white sangria that was mediocre and just below a sangria. Next, the food. In one word, bland. We tried 3 different tapas and the main entree3

Do you miss Renoir from the Mirage, and Alex from the Wynn? Then go to Tapas by Alex Stratta for completely different, but equally inspired creations by Chef Stratta! There was nothing about Tapas by Alex Stratta that wasn't amazing! When I walked in the door, the first thing I saw was Chef Stratta, and I was immediately excited! You don't always see a famous name chef at his or her restaurant and seeing him first thing told me that this was going to be a special dining experience. And it was! Everything was fantastic, beautifully presented, served with friendly formality, and most importantly, amazing on the palette. We had the Mixta Paella, Onion Tart, Moroccan Chicken, Patatas Bravas, a Black Cod special, Buñelos, and Grilled Crepes. And of course lots of Sangria! At the risk of sounding cliché, severy single dish was inspired and simply popped on the tongue! So incredible! Dining on the patio was a lovely experience as well that I would highly recommend!

The menu is the same as any other tapas restaurant but it's executed at a higher level. The daily specials were among our favorites but everything was delicious. The red sangria is done very well and the wait staff is very attentive. Only negative was a light that was malfunctioning and flashing periodically.

We have wanted to try Tappas By Alex since they opened a few months ago but have been quite busy. But, we can say it was worth the wait. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed spending a few hours with the pleasant and knowledgeable staff and enjoying the 6 plates we ordered. Everything was well prepared and very nicely presented--nothing over the top like some tapas places we have tried in the past. The flavors were great and the food the right temperature-which is important when you are sitting on the patio in on an unusually cool May evening. We also enjoyed coffee and a few dessert plates, and everything was just perfect. We will be back again soon, because I love Paella and just have to order it for us next visit.

If you were thinking that this would replace what was lost with Firefly leaving the area, you'd be dead wrong. This is tapas on a whole other level. How wonderful to have Alex Stratta looking proud and welcoming at the door on our visit. The staff are knowledgeable and nicely attentive and really you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu of shared plates. Every dish was impressive. Some may grumble that the price point is higher usual in "the burbs" but this is a Strip-worthy quality that is a fine contender to Julian Serrano at Aria. Except of course you just need to wander over to Tivoli Village instead. The ingredients shine and the interior radiates warmth. The bar is somewhere I'm going be looking to hang out and I hope it becomes a real neighborhood "go to". Bravo Alex and welcome to this neighborhood.

Everything we ordered was great...portion size a little smaller than other tapas joints, but makes up for it with quality of ingredients. Chef Stratta is a great chef and we are lucky to have him at his own local place. Don't leave without trying the baked cheese...similar to a bleu, or the rice pudding...best I've had in a LOOOOONNNNNGGGG time....

My wife and I were excited to find Alex Stratta opened a restaurant off the strip. We dined there on Saturday April 25th and when the food and drinks finally arrived, we were not disappointed. Unfortunately, it does not appear that the place was ready for paying customers. Our waiter, who had one other table waited 5 minutes to acknowledge us and bring water. I requested a draft beer but was informed that none of the draft beers were available. My wife had a sangria and said it was perfection. Again, all the food we ordered was amazing, tasted great and what we expected from chef Stratta. Dinner for two with 4 drinks was $177.00 before tip, which seemed expensive but we did not leave hungry. My only issue was the unprofessional wait staff, at that price point I expected someone to be more attentive. I guess the professional wait staff want to stay on the strip. Good luck!

We were looking forward to dining here and left very disappointed. Extremely overpriced with a chaotic atmosphere. We will not return and will definitely not recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Lots of great choices on the menu. Having eaten here by myself, I highly recommend going with at least 2 or more people so that you can order more dishes to share (there are many good dishes to choose from). The frozen nougat was a surprisingly tasty dish for desert that is worth ordering.

Octopus was good. Meat plate was good but barely gave you any meat so it was over priced and didn't not come with any sides. Cheese plate had 2 good cheesesand the blue was too pungent for my taste. Large servings but again no sides could have used some honey, almonds something sweet could have balanced the blue. Trioof soups was disappointing. Alcohol prices are reasonable. Probably won't be back here for the price the value didn't add up.
