We found out the restaurant was closing that night. One and a half hour wait for food to arrive. Food way too salty. Paid way, way to much for horrible food, bad service. I wish we had gotten up and walked out when we realized how awful it would be but it was too late at that point. The costal we ordered was also bad, bad, bad.

They were out of half of their dishes (all the best ones) as well as most of their wines. They were going to close for a period of time which is why they were not bothering to re-stock, but they should have stopped taking reservations or told us in advance. We brought friends that were visiting from out of town, and it was very embarrassing. Never coming back here.

Great service and great food! The uvo ravioli and the build your own pasta dishes are a must try. The service had a good grasp of the wine list, and recs. I'd suggest asking for a booth - comfortable and relaxed! I'd definitely go back.

Nostra's Chef Alex Alioto is an amazing chef and all the food was superb. The service was delightful and accommodating and we can't wait to see more from Alioto's talented team!! The raviolo was the most amazing item on the menu. A must have and a quiet enough restaurant so that my older parents could hear each other--- a rarity in this day and age! BRAVISIMO NOSTRA!

Enjoy the entire experience. Food was excellent. Servers were great---attentive, but not over obtrusive and quite helpful since it was our first time at Nostra. We went early and during the week so there was not any real noise. We would and will recommend Nostra to our friends and family because we had a fabulous, fun time.

The restaurant was largely empty upon arriving on a Saturday night, yet my party had to wait a fairly long time to be seated. We all ordered pasta dishes, which were quite good. One ingredient in my pasta wasn't added, but the waiter subtracted this from the bill (which is good, since each addition is $4-$5). Cocktails were fair, but the wine list was quite good. Overall, a fun experience to design one's own pasta dish.

Amazing pasta!!!!!! My first visit was so good that I came back 1 week later. I got the custom pasta with tarjin, creamy tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and turkey meatballs bowl both times. EXCELLENT restaurant !!!!!

This was my first time at Nostra while on vacation in San Fran, and it was an absolutely fantastic dining experience! The service/staff, food and wine were wonderful! The ambiance, lighting and interior was modern and casually elegant. I started with a glass of pinot noir, and my daughter had a gimlet cocktail, and then I ended with a recommendation by the sommelier for a glass of cabernet to top of my meal of scallop appetizer, signature ravioli in truffle oil, and steak. Kudos to the chef! Every dish was absolutely mouthwatering and delicious. The chocolate lava cake was recommended, but our tummies were so happily full, we couldn't eat anymore - but the table next to us ordered it, and it looked delicious. I would definitely recommend Nostra Spaghettaria to all friends and family to go check out this neighborhood gem of a restaurant and bar.

Seated promptly upon arrival. Wait staff friendly and very accommodating. I was dining with my niece and friend from the Big Island, Hawaii, and it turned out the the chef and majority of wait staff were from there. Made the dining experience a lot of fun for them. It is an Italian style restaurant, but not heavy in the red sauce pastas. A pleasant find.

We had a reservation for 8:15 on a Saturday night. We arrived at 7:30 to have a cocktail first. We let the host know we had reservations. At 8:05 I walked over to remind the host we had reservations. He said he would come get us when we were ready. At 8:30 he came over and got us. He sat us at a high top. This was an anniversary dinner for my husband and I and out first time out since having our baby. I had on high heels and a dress. I asked to be moved to a low top. I took till 8:45 to move us. When we were seated it took another 15 minutes for someone to get our order. We loved everything we ate, but at the price we paid service was seriously lacking.

I have a severe allergy to gluten so when I find a restaurant that serves multiple menu options that are gluten free and also great in taste I must celebrate and let others know about it. Everything we ordered at Rostra was high in flavor and quality...from the scallops atop polenta cakes and asparagus with the perfect egg for appetizers to the build your own pasta multiple choice entrees my partner and I left sated and stoked by what we'd just experienced. Their wine list is extensive and the service from the hostess and our server was warm & knowledgeable. The entire vibe is just right from the funky fresh art on the walls to the amazing music coming through the speakers...we are guaranteed to have many happy returns!

We went on a Thursday night to avoid the loud crowds for a group of four. Service, appetizers, and custom pastas were outstanding! We kept it classic and had a couple rounds of Lemon drops and Proseco sparking wine. Desert was really good and perfect portions for all ladies. No leftovers. Bathrooms were really clean too. The downside: Online menu did not match the actual menu so some of the appetizers and cocktails we initially had in mind were unavailable. Not sure if this is a downside, but their multi-stall bathrooms are unisex. It was classy, modern, and clean. I had it all to myself, but not sure how I would feel with a busy restaurant. Average cost per person is about $90, so for special occasion it's acceptable - not everyday.

Food terrible, service terrible, all around bad experience. I couldn't believe what a terrible experience we had and the restaurant was not even full or busy. Our waiter took our drink order and returned with our drinks 43 minutes LATER!!! It was incredibly disappointing with all the fabulous restaurants in San Francisco that we chose this one for our weekend visit. Dinner for 6 was over $270 and that was only 2 drinks for the 4 adults in the party. We left before dessert even though it was a birthday celebration. The "make your own pasta" concept sounded wonderful but lacked flavor. The pictures on the website show amazing food but the real food doesn't come close to that. Don't eat here.

After having patronized both Plin and this remake We were terribly disappointed I mistakenly ordered chicken It was possibly one of the worst meals I've had in SF So salty and overcooked it was inedible and it took 30 minutes to arrive Given the tremendous variety and ubiquity of excellent pasta (and chicken) in SF we will never return It's a shame because Alioto is a talented chef

At first was a little off-put by the choose your own pasta menu, but it was absolutely delicious. Scallop appetizer was also excellent, as was the panna cotta. Servers were attentive and atmosphere was pleasant. Will definitely be back!
