    Habituellement très satisfaits du service, notre groupe à été surpris du service désagréable de la part de notre serveuse. Très froide et tellement stressée que le plus petit détail était une montagne. Ayant une allergie dans le groupe, nous avons simplement demandé soit de remplacer ou omettre les pommes de terres dans l'assiette. Elle nous a répondu que c'était impossible et qu'aucune substitution ne pouvait se faire. POUR UNE ALLERGIE. C'est complètement ridicule. Sinon, cocktails délicieux et nourriture impeccable comme toujours. Le poulet frit était délicieux et les pâtes alfredo riche mais pas trop lourde.

    Service was great, all restaurant staff seemed to know enough English to communicate with people that don’t know French. Cocktails were awesome. Food was well worth the price. Absolutely delicious. I would definitely go there again if I find myself in Montréal in the future. Only thing that could possibly be seen as a negative is that it’s very loud in there when it’s busy. It’s almost too loud to talk to the people in your group. Overall still 5/5 stars though.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our night out at Balsam. We were celebrating a birthday and Valentines. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great!

    Nous sommes allés un soir de St-Valentin, donc ce n'est peut-être pas représentatif du service habituel. Nous avons été d'abord étonnés d'entendre notre serveuse proposer des choix qui ne nous avaient pas été proposés à la table d'a côté, à trois reprises. Nous avons eu un service correct, mais sans enthousiasme ni empressement. Au niveau de la nourriture, mon tartare était bien réussi, mais les frites étaient tièdes. Les crevettes de mon conjoint étaient bien trop salées et l'accompagnement était, de notre avis, fade et inintéressant. Il y a des options plus intéressantes à ce prix. Nous avons beaucoup aimé l'ambiance de l'endroit. La déco est intime et sobre sans être plate. En somme, c'était correct, mais pas une adresse à retenir pour y retourner absolument.

    The decor and ambiance is fantastic. Cocktails are interesting and delicious. The service was quite good, although not outstanding. The one disappointment is a most important one I think, we did not enjoy the food. We were four people who all ordered completely different items. We each had appetizer and main, one person had a dessert. Apart from the dessert the unanimous remark was that every dish was over-salted. This made tasting the dishes difficult with the dominant taste of salt in all the dishes.

    The ambiance and welcome already starts it off at 2.5 stars.... then the rest of the evening brings it (almost) all the way up to the top. The food is equal to the ambiance as a reason to go. I'm not a fried-chicken person, but I selected theirs, and it was delectable. Exquisite. Full of flavour and far from any preconceived notion you may have of "fried chicken". If it missed out on 5 stars, it is because I would like the drink prices to be a good 20% lower across the board, from liquor to wine to beer. Partly because we would have liked to spend the rest of the evening there (ambiance!) and have a few more drinks, but it would have made for an unnecessarily elevated total bill. [Note: this can apply to many other restaurants of similar caliber. But they're in the wrong as well.] As it was, we moved to another place to finish our evening. I won't leave this on a down note, however, because the experience, food, decor and service were outstanding.

    Service bon mais trop fréquent. Espresso: le pire que j'ai bu. Osso Bucco excellent. Entrée de légumes marinés: trop vinaigré à mon goût. Ramenez le Syrah sur votre menu au verre! :-)

    Bonjour, Désappointé de mon saumon tartare qui est un standard dans l'industrie , le goût était fade et la serveuse ne nous a pas offert l'option relevé etc.. Ne nous a pas offert de sauce tabasco. Même si le restaurant était très peu occupé, l'hôte nous a installé dans la section avant du restaurant ou c'était inconfortable (porte ouvre constamment, froid , bruit élevé)

    A wonderfully hip, yet cozy atmosphere. Food was incredible and service was friendly and attentive. We went there before a Habs game and had plenty of time to spare. Would also happily go here on a night when there's nothing else on the go, as there is an excellent cocktail menu. Highly recommend!

    The restaurant is fantastic, the food quality is excellent and the staff is friendly and attentive. It's very intimate and the ambience is very warm. I wish it was slightly less loud, but it's a great place nonetheless.
