Le Petit Chef is absolutely the best dining experience in NYC. The food was tasty and well presented. The show would make even the most unhappy person chuckle and even laugh at loud! The waitstaff was very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend this eating experience.

This will be a brutally honest post. So I’ll start with the good: The servers were fantastic and communicative with their service. The animations were amazing and something really to see. Love how they presented it on the tables. Now for the bad….The price I paid does not match the service, food and show I received. From the jump everything was slow paced. I feel like more courses and animations need to be involved for a 2hr+ dinner or just speed up the pace of the 4 courses. While we added the wine pairing we literally sat there with the wine for 20 mins without a first course. Not so much a pairing and the pours were small. The food was mediocre at best and nothing really stood out as memorable. I feel as if there needs to be a couple servers per table to match the show experience as that would create symmetry to the animation when they finish plating in 3D - the plate should arrive in real life. Instead it’s more like wait for the animation to be done and then wait a few moments later to get the food. The vibe of the place should have been more intimate with the lights lowered to set the tone of the animation show. There was no additional decor outside of the photo wall they put up outside the restaurant. Honestly the concept is amazing, but the execution just is not there for me. There’s little changes that could elevate the experience for the next guest. There was no animations on the walls or designs to view as well. Everything was just plain. Paying $540 for two just didnt feel satisfying for the experience.

We were expecting a better service than the one we got. Pleanty restaurants with much better service. We were able to have a glass with no wine through 10 minutes (at least) and that was with half of the Meat Dish on the plate to the beginning of the dessert. Things that can't happen on this kinds of restaurants. That was the biggest stain at an almost perfect dinner.

The hostess amazing but everyhing else including the projector show very average. I truly never want to write a bad review and this isnt a bad review. The view outside of the windows is nothing spectacular. Our waitress had chipped fingernail polish which for the value of the experience, everything should look presentable. The food without the garnish was pretty average. But everything was cooked to perfection. Great choices on wine pairing

If you like waiting 30-40 minutes between servings to see the 90 second animations then this is your jam. We left early after paying our $500 bill. Easily the most hyped and underwhelming experience we have done.

Ambiance and decor is so sad . That place needs some life. Restrooms very smelly and dirty , with price they charge least they can do is have decent restrooms. Gas station restrooms are better

Overall we were not impressed by the meal or the ambience given the cost of the experience. While the waitress was very kind, we did not feel as though it was a 5 star experience. The place lacked ambience and style one would expect when spending as much as we did. We enjoyed the show of the animated chef but that was not worth the cost. I was under the impression we would be able to make our meal selections but it was all pre-selected by the establishment. The first two courses were not good at all. The portions were extremely small--we were thoroughly disappointed when we were served small lobster claw meat for the second course. I wanted to make our trip extremely memorable by doing once in a lifetime things. Although disappointed we made the most of the experience. Extremely overpriced.

The View Restaurant at New York Marriott MarquisResponded on November 10, 2023

I understand your disappointment with your recent dining experience. It is unfortunate that you did not feel like you received a 5-star experience, especially given the cost. It is also understandable that you were disappointed with the lack of ambiance and style, as well as the fact that the meal was pre-selected and the portions were small. I am glad that you were able to make the most of the experience. The feedback for this experience is widely praised, but it is not for all.

Went for anniversary celebration. Presentation of food was awesome. Taste was great but I wouldn’t go crazy bragging about it or want to return for anything special. Ambience was terribly old. We were seated in front of a mirror staring at ourselves lol. We asked to be moved but was request was rejected. The projector experience was just ok. The place is still advertised as “the view” we expected to experience the rotating restaurant which was not working.

The View Restaurant at New York Marriott MarquisResponded on November 10, 2023

We booked a dinner reservation at THE VIEW restaurant, which we thought was the revolving 360-degree restaurant atop the Marriott Marquis (where we had been several times before). Instead, we were in the non- revolving floor below. The menu featured a Prix Fixe menu called The Petite Chef and cost $542 plus gratuities and tax (for 2 people). Despite being "cartoonish and creative" this was a big disappointment, as the menu was limited, and due to dietary restrictions, I was not able to enjoy most of the 4 courses. If we had fully understood this, we would not have booked THE VIEW.

The View Restaurant at New York Marriott MarquisResponded on November 10, 2023

We're sorry to hear you didn't enjoy Le Petit Chef Animated Dining Experience. While it's written on our website and on open table that The View Restaurant is not open for a la carte seating, it's easy to miss if another person made the reservation. We will review our website in light of your feedback to see how we can create even more awareness that the space is not rotating for this special experience.

I've been a frequent visitor of LePetit. We got there 10 min early and checked in. Usually they welcome us with champagne & snacks at the entrance. This time it was not there till the last minute. This was really the one of the value I see. Additionally, they made me to wait after everyone left for over 5 min.The best part is there were no napkins on my side of the table. I asked my server and he/she said I am sorry will bring moment early. He/She didn't bring.Again afte 30 min I asked someone else he gave me. Food was not at all that great. Not a best value for the money.

The selection of the wine goes along well with each meal served. The staff is very attentive and welcoming, made us feel so good. Le Petit Chef definitely a must go dinning experience!😉❤️

My wife and I dined at Le Petit Chef on Saturday the 23rd to celebrate her 44th birthday. This occasion was noted in our reservation. The staff only remembered when other birthdays were being recognized. Then just offered cocktails. I also alerted the staff of a shellfish allergy that I have. This was only recognized after staff put lobster in front of me. Then offered an alternative. The food was excellent, however the experience fell short.

Apart from the technological part which is obviously sophisticated, the restaurant is old, the chairs are uncomfortable and the service is provided by very informal waiters. The price charged is much higher for the food and drink that were served. It's good entertainment but that's it.

We booked this as a spinning restaurant, instead of had a child’s projector on table of a silly chief which did my eyes and head in made me feel queasy and whole point for us visiting New York is this it is advertised as a spinning restaurant Food is ok but Luke warm and small portions and for 541 dollars for 2 with tiny glasses of wine to accompany meal think it’s over priced and a massive disappointment I would not recommend it at all Service is as to be expected caring and nice But over all unless you can afford to waste money I would never book again
