Try the chicken liver pate or the pumpkin soup to start out your meal at Fig. Choose from elegant dinner options like the brown butter basted grouper, the suckling pig and Carolina gold rice and the pan roasted rib eye supreme. For dessert, try the baked Alaska or the rum baba.

Arguably the best restaurant in Charleston. Been a couple of times and everything was phenomenal. Fresh, inventive, locally sourced foods, amazing service, etc.
The food was outstanding. I particularly loved the lightly battered and fried brown shrimp. My wife and mother loved the FIG staple - Gnocchi. The vegetable plate appertizer was also delicious. The amberjack was cooked perfectly. My father has to have a no fat diet, and he missed out on a few things but I was impressed with how they were able to accommodate him with seemingly no impact on the dishes taste. The service was top notch, our server was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu - to include the drink and wine menu.
I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going again next time I'm in Charleston.
My husband and I ate at FIG years ago when they first opened and then several years ago...we have tried several times since those 2 previous 2 times to get a reservation while visiting Charleston and have been unable to do so....we were able to get a reservation this trip at 5:15pm..we were looking forward to a terrific dining experience based on our previous 2 dining occasions. The ambiance is pleasant...Our server was extremely attentive and helpful...answering our menu questions with much knowledge but I was disappointed in our meal ....the bread, 2 types offered.....a sour dough and a multigrain with seeds...both were very dry. I recall when they first opened the menu seemed so low country with delicious soups offered and terrific vegetable sides...one can never please every one with menu selections but it just seems as if the menu tried to hard to be too clever. with much wordy food descripton..sometimes it is okay to be on the more everyday ordinary side if the food is absolutely over the top delicious!....there is so much competition in today's restaurants that it seems each is trying to outdo the other in describing the menu item or offering....the restaurant is always highly rated with glowing reviews...maybe it was an off night when we were there...there are many restaurants in Charleston to choose from so I will keep testing and enjoying but it will be quite a while before I re-visit FIG.
I was so glad to get a reservation a Fig. Amanda was our server and she was fantastic. When in Charleston, make this a priority.
One of the best meals in a long time. From the time we walked in the door I felt like a welcome guest. Food was incredible, just an overall great experience.
Outstanding meal. Very knowledgeable and friendly servers. His description of the dishes definitely influenced our choices and everything was delicious. Don't skip dessert!
Life changing dining experience. I enjoyed every aspect of coming to FIG, from the host to the lighting to the service and most notably the food. Keep doing what you are doing!!!!
One of my favorites since it opened.. Softshell crab was out of this world, escarole salad was delicious, Salmon poached in olive oil was best salmon I have ever had. Service was awesome. Sorghum cake and decaffinated affogato was perfect finish to an incredible meal.
Absolutely perfect. Wonderful server (Amanda) and spectacular food. Could not have been better.
Our food was fantastic. The ricotta gnocchi is always fantastic. My fish stew was also outstanding.
Out only issue was our server she was very curt and rude. Would not let us order appetizers at the same time as drinks. She was surly the entire meal and ruined the experience .
I will not be completely deterred by one bad server but I will be sitting at the bar next time.
FIG was the best restaurant we ate at on our trip to Charleston. The service was great and the food was amazing. The created a vegetarian entree for my friend and me because we are vegetarians and there was no entree option for us. This was our most expensive dinner of the trip but worth every penny! Make sure you book early as they fill up FAST!

We enjoyed dinner very much. This was our first visit to the restaurant. It has a comfy atmosphere.
We came to celebrate my son's engagement. The waiter was attentive, knowledgeable and engaging. The food was delicious! We had the suckling pig, the fish stew, and two different fish dishes. All were wonderful! We had a wonderful evening.

Hands down my favorite restaurant in Charleston! Never fails to meet the high bar. Food, service, drinks are always outstanding. Atmosphere gracious and relaxed. Staff are always excellent. Get a reservation-which can be hard to do-and GO!!
Everything was perfect. Food was some of the best I have ever had.
I took my sons, ages 13 & 16, for our first FIG dining experience. The dinner was superb; the restaurant was beautiful & the service was terrific! We highly recommend the fish stew and the sorghum cake!!
FIG was our choice for dinner! When I booked on open table a month out (they won't accept any earlier) 5:30 was our only available option. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Because it was 5:30 we both ordered an appetizer to share. The gnocchi was incredible - pretty much disintegrated as soon as you ate it. The other appetizer we ordered was the seasonal vegetables. Cooked perfectly - served room temperature on purpose, although I would have preferred warm. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and you could tell he enjoyed working there.
The service provided by Drew was fantastic. he was passionate and knowledgeable, and this was matched by the quality of the food. a real dining highlight!

THE can't miss meal in Charleston. We ate at Slightly North of Broad, Husk and Peninsula Grill, Fig being the obvious stand out.
Ricotta gnocchi appetizer was my fav, super soft pasta and fresh ricotta; really wish the bread they gave out at the beginning was warm instead of a bit stale/room temperature. Also wish they explained the dishes after they delivered them to the table.
It was an amazing meal & all of the FIG staff is outstanding!
Fig has lost it over the last year, have eaten there at least 10 times over the last 5 years.
There are no words to describe the creativity the chef has in blending flavors in the dishes. It was beyond fabulous. And the service? Outstanding. Unfortunately I live in Oklahoma so I will definitely have to make another trip to Charleston just to eat at FIG. Food Is Good here.
The food simply lacks flavor. I get the farm to table but this was bland.
Such a fantastic experience. Miles, our waiter, was a wealth of information and patiently described each menu item to us....making it even more challenging to make a choice between all of the great menu items offered. it certianly enticed us to come back to try the other items.
It was quite apparent that everyone their truly enjoyed what their role their and they all worked together as a team. Very Impressive! We will be back soon!
Best food in Charleston. I think I ate my weight. It's difficult to sometimes jump thru their reservation hoops and better to call than use open table. But it's all worth it.
The menu changes but you will not be disappointed by anything you choose. We have been at FIG three times and each time the meal had been extraordinary! There is a complex blend of Flavors and seasonings. Our recent visit I had the swordfish - outstanding. Marty this with a glass of wine, early summer vegetable salad, Yukon purée potatoes and beets. Terrific. The sorbet topped off a wonderful dinner.
The food was excellent and the dishes were creative. It was certainly as good as advertised. Would recommend this restaurant for someone that likes fresh, local, creative food

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at FIG. The service was attentive, the cocktails perfect, and the menu, while limited, was spot on. I loved the Ricotta Gnocchi with Beef Bolognese an appetizer, and the Grouper that followed was outstanding. Our server and the "support staff" were terrific. Will definitely go back, if we can get a reservation!
Our first visit to Fig despite years of eating in other restaurants in Charleston. Without naming the "competitor" trying to do something innovative with local ingredients there was a world of difference with Fig really delivering a transformative taste experience vs packaging trendy ingredients into supposedly creative but ultimately unsuccessful combinations. In the future, if we can get reservations before 9PM without having to plan a full month in advance it will be the "go to" restaurant. Prices for quality of food and presentation combined to some big city experiences represent a bargain.
