   The food was awesome! The service is horrible! We had to ask multiple times for our non alcoholic beverages, for bread and to clear plates. I totally understand food coming at differing times but having to ask for plates to be cleared is another thing! The branzino was fantastic!

   I just came back after 1 month in Rome and miss pasta. I expected just as good but it was not. The pasta carbonara here was good but of course nothing like in Rome.

   Our Service was so bad, I cannot look past that. The food was probably ok but I was so bummed with the service that I did not give the food a chance. The server needs customer service training. Never gave us any specials, My drink did not show up. Then when asked, the server blamed it on someone else. Never can back to check on us and to top it off, a sweaty server with a sweat rag over her shoulder and continually wiping her face is a bit of a turn off.

   Absolutely delicious! We wanted to sample several things so we bypassed pasta and pizza this time and went with an antipasti and two fritti. The Polpette Al Sugo, Arancini Agli Asparagi and Calamari Fritti con Zucchine. Everything was so flavorful that it’s hard to pick a favorite. We will definitely return!

   Our second time at La Pizza, the other time in LasVegas. Both very good. I loved the changing pasta menu. We are celebrating our 50th with our children in Chicago. Thanks so much for the Eataly concept

    Noise level is high —difficult to have a conversation. Service poor: The server checked in early but then disappeared for a while. Our drink order arrived long after meals. Server rarely checked back with us. Cocktails not particularly interesting or of a quality to consider a second round though we were never offered one. Children’s pizza mostly dough — very little sauce and toppings — even our hungry young children were not interested in finishing it. Pasta average quality for rather high price point. Some tables placed so closely together that chairs were bumped continuously as staff navigated the tight spaces.

    We have been here a few times and loved it, exactly why we wanted to come for Mothers Day. It was so bad it makes me not want to come back for how far we come and what we pay. Maybe wouldn't be as bad if our server was better. We sat for awhile, he walks up and you couldn't hear him, not even sure what he said except what can I get you. We ordered some pizzas, someone brought them and we ate. He didn't come back for awhile and then just gets our order. We had to hunt him down then to order some drinks because he never asked us. We then had to get him again and ask for bread. We got a basket and noticed everyone else around has oil to. We were never offered any. Then 5 of us ordered the same pasta made from the parm wheel. 2 other dishes came out and were served. The lady with the parm wheel came over and made 1 pasta, again we had 5! She then left and went to another table and made the same thing for another table. Why didn't she make the other 4 we ordered. So 3 people in our party completely finished there food before the 4 of us even got ours! We had to hunt our server down to ask him about it. Still took about another 10 min to get our food. Then they dump everything in but didn't mix it well so the last person who got the bottom was soaked in the sauce and so strong! Just wasn't worth it for the money this time. Again over an hour drive, it was mothers day and a very disappointing expensive meal. I would recommend it to people because it is good but it will be awhile for me. That day ruined it.

    Traditional Italian cuisine. I enjoy coming here for their Tagliatelle pasta. Please try their spread of Italian meats and cheeses. Delicious! They also have a great selection of wine.

    We went to kickoff my daughter’s birthday weekend. We were quickly seated. Food was good but not outstanding, which it has been in the past. We just wish our server had checked in. Water glasses never refilled, not check in on how we were. Took awhile to get our bill, when we were ready to leave.

    The arugula salad with lemon dressing is superb, as is the ravioli with olive oil and parmesan. The service was quite good as well.

    Such a awesome Italian market. I wish we had one in AZ. They have both fresh and dry pastas, sauces, oils, pastries, sweets, wine,etc. We had dinner at La Pizza and La Pasta. My husband got the bolognese; it was delicious - salty and savory. I got the mushroom and sausage fettuccine ragu. Such great flavors! The Cabernet was delicious. The service was good!

    Tourist trap at this point. Used to be great, now pasta was bland, almost flavorless. We ordered 4 different pastas, all lacked flavor, from salt/pepper to when we asked for more parmiggian cheese (twice) and waiter brought us a small sample. I’d almost hope they said they would charge for extra cheese. Ambience and market and everything else is enticing… but food no longer there. If they can’t do pasta right, not worth it

    Absolutely delicious meal. Everything is so fresh and there’s nothing like fresh, homemade pasta and hand made bread and pizza crust. We love Eataly and it will continue to be our first choice for Italian cuisine.

    The food was incredible. Our pastas were cooked to perfection. The table side presentation of the pasta was fun too. The young lady seemed to be on auto pilot while she was preparing out food. I was trying to talk to her, asking her questions and such, but she basically ignored me and kept telling me about the wheel of cheese. The desserts were amazing. We were one of the first tables to be seated, so it was a surprise that our server was not very attentive. My glass sat empty most of the time while he was talking to the other servers near the side station.

    As we left the restaurant we were accosted by aggressive panhandlers who threatened to shoot us in broad daylight. They gestured they were carrying firearms and were prepared to kill us on site. Fortunately we were rescued by the Uber car that we ordered. Perhaps you should consider hiring a security service and/or posting armed guards outside of your restaurant. With regard to the food, service and overall ambiance…mediocre is the only word that comes to mind. I was at the Eataly in Milan last year and it was amazing. Eataly Chicago is a disappointment in comparison.

    Please bring back the lasagna and small cheese plate appetizer. Also, the bathrooms by the pasta section need to be renovated to be nicer and larger, especially for women who take longer. For how nice the rest of the Eataly experience is, the bathrooms are awful, and the company should be embarrassed. I grit my teeth, hold my breathe, and really think long and hard about how badly I want to wash my hands or use the restroom. That sentence should not be how your customers describe part of their experience, especially for how much they pay for a meal and your products.

    The waiter was excellent and food outstanding. Our Pasta alla Norcina was well prepared and delicious. Meatballs were a treat as an appetizer. The dessert was shared, warm chocolate cake with cherries and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Stellar, and my personal favorite. Tasted home made with love. Espresso well brewed and generous with nice billowy crema. The casual vibe gave us more breathing room to laugh, connect, and enjoy our time together. Good times.

    We came to Chicago for the weekend to visit Eataly in celebration of my husband's milestone birthday. The store is fabulous with bountiful fresh and store-made delights. Dinner had highs and lows. The highs: (1) the Italian meat and cheese board was plentiful and offered a succulent variety to tantalize the palate; (2) the branzino over sauteed escarole, generously stuffed with lemon and rosemary had amazing flavor and was large enough for two, yet the cheek meat was inedible; (3) the pasta dish with shrimp and mussels was again delicious, tender, and enough for two, (3) our desserts - olive oil cake, tiramisu, and pistachio gelato, were culinary treasures. The lows: (1) the two gnocchi dishes were small, very disappointing and almost inedible - the gnocchi were tough extruded logs that were cut unevenly and absent of seasoning, the pesto sauce was lacking salt and acidity, the other cream sauce was thin and bland; (2) service was ok - I had mentioned in my booking that this was a big birthday event for us and it was completely ignored; and one of our after dinner drinks never made it to the table but the bill was promptly adjusted. Overall, we still had fun and a good meal with friends in a delightful atmosphere. We will come back!
