Disappointing since I was taking a friend for her birthday and we couldn't have dessert or coffee. Food was good but not fabulous for the prices charged.

Casual, open marketplace style bistro. Branzino was smallish and therefore bony. Grotto midtown was a bit heavy on the cod meat, not enough shrimp or calamari. Good place to meet for an informal meal.

The ambience was not ideal, however, the food was very good. The hostess was an absolute pleasure. Our waiter had zero energy and zero interest in whether we were happy with his service. Overall, it was good and I would absolutely go back!

Wonderful food and a European Market feel. It was delightful, although a bit noisy. Not a place for a nice quiet dinner. But, definitely the place for great food and fun shops.

Fun place, a bit on the expensive side for what you get. I’ve always preferred Manzo (same price, better value prop.) but occasionally come here when I can’t get a reservation there.

Came to this place for Valentine's dinner and they were accommodating when my date and I arrived a couple minutes late. The food is terrific, had the Blu Salmon and my GF had the steak and shared a fried seafood appetizer. The service on the other hand had many issues. 1. The waiters were inattentive when it came to the dining experience. I had to flag down staff for any thing such as water, or when we decided on our food. 2. We asked for the check and waited nearly 15 minutes to receive it and saw others who had asked before us get to pay and leave. The food is great, but the wait staff could use some guidance in their service.

Mixed. Good food but the set up at Eataly means you can't order dessert/ coffee or many items from the other restaurants. You can get dessert in the front. Also the service is spotty.

The menu and food are really great at Il Pesce. But, it is very hectic, noisy and sometimes confusing. Located in an open space in the market, Eataly is both a plus and minus. Clearly a minus when you wish to have a quiet or intimate dinner. This is not the place for a first date. You really need to know your companions and have as your first or only priority the food. Service sometimes leaves something to be desired.

The experience was very brief. The waiter was not helpful and showed no interest in providing a good experience. There were several items on the menu that weren’t available. We opted to go around the corner and had a delightful dining experience. This is the second time I’ve had a poor experience and will not return and definitely will not recommend anyone dine here.

We enjoyed the food, it was tasty. However, the service was really poor - very rude and not welcoming. We were handed the bill before we were ready, among other annoying interactions....we also wanted to have a coffee and desert at the table and were told that we could not. For an $80+ lunch for two, we should be able to stay long enough for a coffee!

This experience was on a Wednesday night. I made a 7:15 PM reservation on Open Table. We were seated at 7:45 PM. It then took five minutes to get water, then another 10 minutes to order the food. I had to grab a wait staff to request bread and later more water. The food was good, but this is the only thing I have to say positive about this. When we were done eating and our table was cleared, it took another 10 minutes to get the check. I would have been better off to dine across the street at another Italian restaurant.

We went for oysters, but they were out. They said it was extremely rare. Still a disappointment. The sardines were bland. Needed more salt, but we didn’t have the option to add more. The table next to us said the exact same thing. Good ambiance. The pesto pasta and shrimp was delicious. I would go back to Eataly but likely wouldn’t eat at Il Pesce. I would recommend other options within Eataly

The owners should take care of preserving the original Italian recipes to maintain the quality and flavor of the food. Furthermore provide training to the waiters to be more knowledgeable of the dishes and more polite to customers. The restrooms were very dirty and unattended.

They were having an Eataly special week at all their restaurants and we ate at Il Pesce. The food was excellent and so were their wines. Service was terrific. I was surprised the restaurant was quiet enough to conduct a civil conversations in the middle of a huge space like Eataly. All in all I'd go back again and recommend to others.

The only reason that this review got anything higher than two stars is because the food was really good. However, the service was one of the worst that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We waited about 10 minutes for our waiter to come, and he never did, even after we asked the busboy to call him over. The busboy ended up taking our order instead of the waiter, I’ve never seen that happen before. We ordered wine and after already finishing the appetizer we asked where it was and the busboy said he forgot about it and it would be brought out now; 10 minutes later the waiter brought out the wine, seemingly in no rush. I ordered the branzino and asked if they would be able to filet the fish for me, since I’ve never done it before myself. The waiter said they don’t do that because they are very busy and there are other fish on the menu that are already filets (this is a fish restaurant, I don’t understand how the waiters don’t know how to filet a fish). I read a few reviews that said the service was bad but decided to try it out for myself because I’d been wanting to go to Eataly but it’s safe to say that I won’t be going back.

In the restaurantweek you can expect that the portions on your plate will be small, I get that. But small shouldn't mean sloppy or badly cooked or without too much taste. I would say that in a restaurantweek you give customers a treat so they will come back. Anyway, we started with marinated fish: 4 very small and ugly cut pieces of salmon in a rather tasteless green marinade and the mozzarella, which was dry. The 2 anchovies on top were delicious, but probably not prepared by the cook. The mozzarella plate looked very pale and unattractive, just some cheese chunks thrown on a plate. Next we both had the pesce azurro. The fish was overcooked and dry, the roasted squash was undercooked and had a very unpleasant structure. We had a bottle of Grillo, which had a hint of cork. Only reason to be a little positive is the atmosphere and the waiter who was very attentive and friendly. After dinner we were still so hungry we went to the cheese department for some cheese. Cheese was great, service was not. I've been a fan of Eataly since it opened, but I think this was the last time I had dinner there.
