I love eataly and have been going since flatiron opened. First time at Amalfi, It could have been better for the prices but then again I live in manhattan

Was looking forward to trying Eataly’s rooftop restaurant, but found it a bit disappointing. The rooftop is the main event and it’s nice, but the food was mediocre and felt rushed. The pasta came out room temp and the branzino skin was not at all crisp. Definitely gives the sense that much is pre-plated and sitting under warmers. Additionally, there are giant, noisy industrial fans and air blowers that did not add to the ambiance. Go for drinks and apps if you want the rooftop experience, but skip the mains.

We were very disappointed a rushed experience . We were in Chicago and it was wonderful. Everything was rushed. I cared about turning tables. We only saw our waitress one time after she took our order. My wife had clam and mussels the dish came out with 4 clam shells all empty, the pasta was over cooked. It was very loud, you almost had to yell to talk to each other. Had people wanting to take your plate before you were finished. The manager came over after my wife complained about her dish. She comped the meal but was very unprofessional calling my wife love as she spoke with her. I am writing this to help them understand what needs to be addressed. I have a culinary background and ran restaurants, they have a good reputation but things need to change in this restaurant. If you want people to feel they are dining in Italy then slow down, be friendly and make sure the environment is like it is on the Amalfi coast. I have been there many times.

Dining out in NYC is a treat and thought that Amalfi at Serra was a great selection - not too fussy, & within Eataly; however, both my guest and I were disappointed and won't return. The ambiance and service were terrific, but the food was very 'so so'. We had the burrata salads. The cheese was awesome, but the tomatoes weren't very ripe, and dressing was boring. I had the Bronzino (which I luv), but again it was ok, nothing special. The Bronzino at my local fishery/restaurant at the Jersey shore is far tastier/special. Again, great vibe, super service but the food was nothing special.

Food was great. Was warm in the dining room and hot hot by the host stand with no airflow.

Can you call it a pop up if it’s been around for over 5 years? Decor is a bit rundown and the food was meh. The staff were top notch tho.
