Les Cochon d'Or
HAPPY HOUR 5 -6
The food and service were excellent! Far better value than food at Jefferson's at the Omni Homestead. I wish we'd eaten here both nights we were in town!
My wife and I decided to venture off the Homestead property for a nice quite dinner at Les Conchon D’or And they did not let us down, great service, great atmosphere, and great food with local flavors. If you and your family are looking to get away from the staple restaurants that the Homestead has on sight than look no further, this wonderful French inspired restaurant is right across the street. Despite the small size and location this restaurant hits way above its weight class with some fresh new takes on traditional dishes.
Bit pricey! Would not enjoy eating at a high table. Tables are to close to each other; unable to have privacy.
This was by far one of the best restaurants we have dined in. The food was impeccable and the service was on point. The braised angus short rib was the best we have ever had. It literally melted in our mouth. The chocolate ganache was delicious. Their service was really really good, and the owner was kind enough to stop by and check in on our table as well. If you are staying at the Homestead, this is a 2 min walk. We would drive to Hot springs just to eat at this restaurant!
Lovely small French bistro. Food was excellent as was the ambiance. The service was very good as well. Good value for your money as well.
We drove a long way to celebrate our anniversary here, and it was worth it. However we found the offerings to be far less French than the previous times we had eaten there. Seems like the menu moved away from the flavors that I was looking forward to. It was a lovely meal, well prepared, but I have had similar meals at nice restaurants within 50-100 miles of this restaurant - pork, duck, trout, root veggies. I wanted something unique and distinctly French. Not sure we will have that expectation in future but will go there because it is a lovely dining experience.
All dishes were creative and delicious
This hidden gem is a must for anyone in the area. We found it quite by accident on Open Table and couldn't be happier. The service was personal and friendly, the food was exquisite and the over all experience was terrific.
Delicious menu- great service and wine selection
Wonderful food! Excellent sommelier recommendations and knowledge! Lovely staff! Could not have asked for one thing to be better
Excellent service from Chris and his colleagues. The food was outstanding as was the Elmer T Lee 😎
We chose this venue to celebrate a milestone anniversary -- my bride has put up with me for almost 40 years. Food was great, service was attentive but not overwhelming ( we like this) and the wine list is exceptional. One of the owners is the sommelier and she knows her wines from all over the world. Highly recommend. A special thanks to our server Nadine -- what a delight!
A lovely spot and fine food. We enjoyed the slow pace and friendly staff.
Small, cozy, friendly little restaurant with wonderfully prepared and presented dishes. French onion soup some of the best ever and our pork dishes were tender, moist and beautifully presented. We go to Hot Springs annually and always try to make a reservation here. We love it.
Les Cochon d' Or was outstanding! The food was delicious, and the staff very knowledgable and helpful. It is certainly a much-needed and welcome addition to the Hots Springs area! We will definitely go back whenever we are in the area
Food was excellent but service was even better . Nice menu and very thoughtful , well executed dishes and service. Wife and I enjoyed the ambience and open kitchen concept . On weekends make a reservation , especially as their reputation grows . Only a couple minute walk from Homestead , right next to Sam Snead’s . The meal we had here was superior to that at TJ’s in the Honestead , but less expensive !
Wonderful find near big resort. Much more reasonably priced than resort restaurants. Tables a little close but much more like a Paris bistro. Highly recommend.
The Foccacia app. was so unique and wonderful! We both had the sort ribs which were amazing as well!
Crystal paired our dinner with a fabulous Cab! A perfect evening and great alternative when staying at the Homestead! Chef is Toos!
The food is outstanding every time. The staff is welcoming and helpful.
Since they opened a few years back, we try to get in whenever we come up to the Homestead, and we've never been disappointed. It's not an inexpensive meal, but for a special occasion (which is always the case when we're at the Homestead), it's money well spent. The service is attentive but not overbearing, and each dish we've tasted tastes different than the others, and all have been delicious.
The immediate impression on arrival is that this is a small restaurant with small tables for parties of 2 placed against a wall next to the main aisle. This was actually an issue for this party of 2 as the table was not really adequate for water glasses, wine glasses, appetizer plates, bread basket, bread plates etc. Tables for larger groups seemed to provide more space. The service was quite good. Water and bread were delivered promptly and drink orders taken. The menu, available online, was standard French fare. The wine list was better than average in my opinion. The Moules appetizer was tasty and adequate in portion, but the mussels were as small as any I've had. The duck and trout entrees were good but nothing special. Dining options in this town are quite limited, so there are not many options from which to choose. I might have enjoyed it more as part of a larger group with larger tables, or even at the bar where some were eating.
This is one of my family's all time favorite restaurants. Every time we stay at the Homestead it's our go-to place for a guaranteed wonderful dinner. The food is unbelievable, and truly creative and unique combinations. The atmosphere is one of fine dining, but comfortable, not stuffy. Service is always over the top. We could not drum up a complaint if we tried. (except please add the Coq au vin back on the menu...it was a favorite!)
Interesting, vibrant restaurant with superb service
The food was awesome, very unique.
Great restaurant with wonderful food, however, if you're bringing kids, they won't cook anything not listed on the menu. We didn't expect a kids' menu, but thought they might be able to provide an alternate option or two for our 10 year old daughter. She didn't eat much that night, but we had a great meal!
This is all of the delicious without the pretension. I have seen kids here everytime, and it was no trouble added to the ambiance. I come back for my birthday every year now.
This was an excellent find for any occasion. The venue is small but will still accommodate groups. We will definitely be going back. Food was everything we expected.
Our families third meal there this week. Food excellent. Service good. Owner each time barely responsive. Not solicitous. Tonight she came to our table. Never said hello. Poured tap water into our glasses after we had ordered bottled water. Thinking that with computerized open table reservations an owner would acknowledge a family that had dined there three times in one week. Thank goodness the food is so good. Friendliness and warmth lacking
Very nice menu and great service. Also, they came up with a special dish to address my wife's gluten, dairy and nut allergies. They didn't complain or make us feel out of place, the waiter just took note and talked to the chef who said he would come up with something. He did and it was delicious!
Excellent food and service!!
My husband ordered the New York strip. The steak was so tough he could not eat it. When the waitress came by, he told her there was a problem with his steak; but she had no response. The steak was still on the plate when the table was cleared, so it was obvious the steak was inedible. However, my trout was delicious. Due to the restaurant's blasé attitude toward our complaint, we will not be returning to this restaurant!
Great dinner. Service was great and Chris helped us choose a great bottle of wine.
A wonderful dining experience with superior service and exceptional food! Made for a vacation night out that will not be forgotten.
We loved the fact that the restaurant was able to take us earlier than our reservation, and that the noise level was so moderate -- in fact we could converse across the table with no trouble. The wine list was good, and the house wines by the glass were terrific. But best of all were the two dinners we ordered: the duck and the house-brand pork (named the cocoon d'or, the golden pig). Both were great, and we enjoyed ourselves enormously. We would definitely recommend Les Cochons D'Or to anyone looking for a good, upscale dinner.
This was our second trip here. Both experiences were delightful! The food was excellent & the service impeccable.
The food was delicious. The tables are close together but added to the friendly atmosphere. We had a nice conversation with the couple next to us. Our server was wonderful, the food was excellent but unpretentious. Will definitely return if in the area again.
Easily one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. Vichyssoise, carpaccio and watermelon salad unbelievably good. Wonderful staff and service. Everything A+!
The food was good, not great. My steak had an excellent cast iron sear but the quality of the meat was ok & the steak was tough. The sauce was favorable but indistinguishable. It was suppose to be grits with a mushroom truffle. Well it was good but I could neither tell Thar it was grits or that it had mushrooms in it.
The prices were norm for the area. The menu was not much different than the rest of the restaurants in the area. Everything around this area seems to be either Steak, Pork or Trout. Service was slow but everyone was nice. The sommelier recommended a fabulous bottle of wine! Don’t get me wrong, we enjoyed ourselves but overall we would be hit or miss to come here again.
