Food was very good. Service was poor. It was indifferent and inattentive.
Great Food , Excellent Service, and nice Ambiance
Waitress allowed us time to settle in and chat before we ordered your meal.
Tried No. 7 via their Pulsd promotion. For this reason it was a great value - we had the veggie burger, chicken sandwich and 4 mimosas for $35. Very quiet and bright room in the back so it was pleasant for a simple brunch on a Sunday. Service could have been a bit better. The menu doesn't cater to a very brunchy atmosphere - I would say it leans more on the lunch side. Looks like it's a pretty nice place to grab a drink in the evening as well. Overall it didn't blow my mind but it was pretty good.
Conveniently located for BAM. Excellent food. Well served. Not too noisy. A great choice before a performance at the Harvey theatre which is just a few blocks away.
We went to No. 7 for brunch to celebrate my sisters’s birthday. Overall this was a great experience. Food was good, staff attentive and professional. Food came out in a timely manner.
Great food and outstanding service
Great addition to the neighborhood. Delicious and quaint. However, a bit over priced for a restaurant we would put in a "regular" rotation.
We decided to try No. 7 before a play at the Polonsky Shakespeare Theater. It's well located right outside the exit to the C train. We liked the ambience, especially the skylights. The wines by the glass were good quality, I had the Gamay Beaujolais Villages, and we appreciated the 2-for-1 happy hour special. Where food was concerned we found No. 7 uneven. I would definitely not recommend the fried tofu which turned out to be both heavily breaded/deep fried and quite bland. On the other hand we enjoyed the broccoli tempura and the straw-cut French fries very much.
It's a very quaint space and the rosemary tofu was on point!
We wanted to try a different spot in Fort Greene. If you're in the area or going to BAM, you want to have options. There are many places to eat in the neighborhood--and because of that competition, this restaurant doesn't quite make the cut. Quick bottom line: the place is fine, but you can probably find better options nearby.
Food & beverage: My wife liked her fried chicken sandwich, but the fish tacos were bland and uninspired. Edible, but nothing I'd recommend or order again--and I love all kinds of fish tacos. Beer and wine selections were good, prices were reasonable.
The music was terrific, but loud-ish, if that matters.
The service was just ok, though: I'm not asking for crazy enthusiasm, but it seemed not all the staff could summon just a little bit of friendliness.
Went with friends for a weekend brunch. The service was polite, friendly and comfortable. The menu is great for all dietary restrictions. One friend even commented on how nice it was to have choices, as she is used to only being able to order one item off of each menu. Definitely will be coming back!
I love their food but they have raised their prices which is unfortunate.
Most of the dishes were fine though there were no standouts. The fried chicken sandwich and fish tacos fulfilled their promise as comfort food. The micro vegetables and greens in my braised pork shoulder added a touch of freshness and crunch to an earthy dish. The cocktails were nicely balanced and not too boozy. The featured pies from local Blackbirds were a sweet finish to a nice meal with friends. The service was a bit uneven. Our main waiter came across as stern, while the rest of the staff was friendlier.
Love the food!
Very creative brunch menu-guacamole flatbread was particularly good. Sunday brunch (mother’s day) was predominately toddlers with parents. Cute, unless you think otherwise. Atmosphere was welcomingly casual.
Nice brunch menu and good food. Prices were reasonable. Brunch for two was $50 without alcohol. Menu had a nice variety. Short walk to BAM.
This was just a great neighbhood find. Laid back, not too noisy, good beer, good veggie options. Will be back here lots in the future.
Beautiful little gem in Fort Greene. Glad I finally made it for brunch can’t wait to come back for an evening drink.
My hands are the same color as yours, but I shame to wear a heart so white
Nice place, with efficient and friendly service. Great starters! Brussels sprouts were excellent as well as the dumplings. Good vibe.
Very noisy -- that's why I said "good for groups." If you're part of a boisterous group, you can yell and keep your voice at a high level throughout your meal!
Great brunch. Try the broccoli tacos. You will love them.
Waitstaff can’t be beat! Wine Wednesday and brunch are a close 2nd.
Great local restaurant. Loved the Broccoli tacos!
Area has reached 110% gentrification. As a native NYer I'll return to this place for either brunch (back dining) or food convo at bar up front due to its smaller size and atmosphere. Located directly above Lafayette 'E'. Hasn't reached obnoxious as many have become easily doomed to. 5-6 in tap incl. stout
Very good hipster foodie restaurant in Brooklyn (on Greene, off Fulton). Walking distance to BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music). So a 5:15pm dinner worked comfortably for a 7:30 show at BAM's Harvey Theatre (less than a 10-minute walk down Fulton).
No 7 consistently delivers delicious food, awesome service, and a calm but fun ambiance. And their hot sauce is awesome.
They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome & special!
Great servers and delicious brunch options. The dining room is full of natural light.
It was nice
Brocoli tacos are amazing and the Brussels sprouts are delicious. Great wine list as well.
I went to No. 7 for Valentine's Day. The scenery was dim and intimate. I made a reservation an hour before and was seated on time. The food was amazing and our waitress, K.K., was amazing. She was very nice and attentive to our needs. The wine selection was healthy. For Valentine's Day, they had half off bottles and a complimentary dessert! I loved my experience and I suggest you give it a try! Also, the fries were AMAZING!
Great dinner for the whole family
Reliably delicious! This has become a regular spot for me and I have never been disappointed. Service is great, waitress remembers us, the food is always great and the menu does change a little seasonally, which is nice. Half price bottles of wine on Wednesday is also great- it's actually an inexpensive and very tasty wine list already. Absolutely recommend!
The hot sauce is delicious. The brussel sprouts were roasted well, and my favorite item, but TOO salty. The cocktail was quite expensive and by far the worst thing consumed.
Empty restaurant inattentive service
Great location - good food
The fried broccoli batter was extremely salty which completely ruined the fried broccoli app (no one tasting?) They have a 1/2 chicken for $26 on the menu, it's not a half chicken it is a chicken breast-no Wing, leg or thigh simply a breast! A little overpriced even if I were dining @ one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants! One server...he was polite but slow & ambivalent about it. Craft beer & cocktails were excellent though... the end.
We stopped in before a show at the Barclay Center, and we were very happy we chose No. 7. They seated us quickly and were very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance was lovely - votive candles everywhere with comfy, romantic booths. Food was incredible, and though it's a small menu, everything we had was amazing, especially the brussel sprouts and the hake. The wine list is great, and you can't beat half-off bottles on a Wednesday night! Even the restrooms were adorable, clean, and ample. We will definitely be back.
I ordered steak and eggs at brunch. When my food was delivered there were several human hairs on the plate. We returned it and asked that they do it over again. We got a second serving and it too had hair on the plate. Although they were apologetic and ultimately gave me a third meal (not the same item) they really got it wrong twice and on the way out we noticed the cook had a beard that was not covered. I would say they need to address this matter before serving food with hair in it.
