Orange Anchor in Washington, D.C. has one of the best happy hours in the entire city. However, what has kept Orange Anchor so popular is its huge menu of seafood options. If you like fish tacos, this restaurant has you covered. Choose from the mahi mahi, Old Bay shrimp or crispy fish options. There are oysters served chilled or grilled. The tuna taco bites, crab fritters and cheesy crab fries are all very tasty, as well. For your main course at Orange Anchor, try the crab cake sandwich. Its made with a five-ounce crab cake and smoked Cajun tartar sauce. Another winner is the warm melted lobster roll.

Orange Anchor was the only restaurant at the Georgetown waterfront that my husband and I had not tried. We went on a Saturday evening around 7:15. We got seated immediately. Our waitress was just ok. We felt like we were at a TGI Fridays. We had to repeatedly ask for lemons for our water. I had the Crab BLT sandwich and my husband had the Old Bay Tacos. We also ordered a side of the lobster mac. The sandwich was very bland and rather bitter. My husbands tacos were nothing special either. The lobster mac was joke! Basically, it was a vunch of pasta with a very liquidy cheese and a few small pieces of what they called lobster. I guess we expected a lot more considering the location. Although the prices were not as high as the other restaurants in that area, it was definitely not worth it. We had a $83 tab.... WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Don't waste your time or your $$

The food taste was amazing, but unfortunately the size is not worth the price. I work in the restaurant business as well and I thought the appetizers were extremely expensive for what you get. I got the lobster cocktail that had no taste and the scallops that was the smallest thing ever, although they were perfectly cooked. Next time if I go I think I will go straight to the entree because it doesn't make a difference. I had the mussels, both options, and shared with a friend, and they were amazing!!! Can't complain about that at all! Also, I loved the idea of the popcorn at the beginning of the meal, delicious!!!

I would recommend it to anyone! If you are on a time constriction, such as lunch time, I would hesitate since we were nearly 30 minutes late returning to the office and I didn't feel it was necessary. Sometimes restaurants take for granted that you have all day and we did not.

We were on time for our noon appointment and were seated immediately. Promptly, we were served with a container of popcorn but it went downhill from there. We waited 47 minutes for our order of eggs benedict served with fried potatoes. The meal was no better than one would find at a fast food restaurant but with a Bloody Mary and a Coke it came to $47.00. I know it is riverside in Georgetown but give me a break.

Orange anchor is my favorite restaurant in the Washington Harbor. It has very nice food dishes, and the desserts are awesome as well. I really like the popcorn appetizer. The baked oysters had a bit too much bread crumbs but were very good. The service is very attentive as well.

Not a great place or addition to DC. They've used there location at the water front as an excuse to put out mediocre food. Don't get me wrong, come for oysters and drinks and you'll be satisfied, or sandwiches. But coming for a nice dinner and be disappointed. Ambiance inside is OK, outside seating is nice. Prices for food do not reflect the food itself. Flavors were bland and boring. Small plate with small pieces of lobster for 18, prob four times mark up. Salad was decent at best. Ahi Tuna was not prepared properly and didn't have much flavor. Overall this place has potential but they'll need to step up the food and get some better service. Everyone waiting seems casually "chilling" rather than making sure I have a drink with my food.

Great little spot in the Georgetown Waterfront area. I loved that they served popcorn when you sit down. Food was delicious...I got the hard cider mussels, which were some of the best mussels I've had and not an overwhelming portion. Service was not the best though. It took our waiter a long time to get to us to take our order and he never really checked in on us to see if we wanted another drink, liked our food, etc.

Orange Anchor was recommended to me by a friend and I first visited for brunch. It was reasonably priced and the eggs benedict were delicious! I suggested my Dad go prior to an event at the Kennedy Center and he LOVED the rockfish (although a bit pricey). I went back for dinner and my boyfriend and I both had mussels + a side of the brussel sprouts. Both were wonderful but again, we avoided the entrees because they were $25+/plate. Love the indoor/outdoor feel and brings a new wave to the waterfront!

I was really disappointed by my recent experience at Orange Anchor. When we were being seated we were told we could not be seated at our preferred table because it was reserved. However, the table remained vacant for the full 1 1/2 hours we were there. I'm not sure who it was reserved for, but they clearly knew better than to honor their reservation. On top of this the service was very slow. Our appetizer came out well before our drinks. We were told this was because the bartender was busy, but we observed him standing around a lot. What disappointed me most was how mediocre the food was. The shrimp and lobster roll was way over salted. This place clearly has a great location, but really needs to step up their game. I would recommend going to any of the other Georgetown waterfront restaurants if you have the choice. This place is definitely not worth the money.

We went to the Orange Anchor for a recent date night. We thought it would be nice to be down on the water where we could have some dinner and enjoy a walk after. There is a lot of outdoor seating, but it was full, so we sat inside. Frankly, that was better because the "inside" is totally open to the air as well and also had a nice view of the fountain out front. Other reviews said the service was mediocre, but our service was just fine - and the place was busy. The food was also MUCH better than one would think for a casual dining place at the Harbor - I was very impressed. The tuna tacos were as good as anything similar I've had anywhere. The lobster role was stuffed full and delicious, the sauteed spinach was fresh, not overcooked, and had a nice touch of garlic, and the burger was also perfect. We had a couple of their signature mohitos, asked for some special attention to the drinks, and again - they hit it spot on. Definitely will go back and recommend to friends - especially visitors to the city who will want to see the Harbor.

I am a sucker for any restaurant that has an open environment so I was smitten with Orange Anchor right from the start. They serve canned beers in coozies and their wait staff dresses in Vineyard Vines to deliver a laid-back, preppy atmosphere. I can't wait to make it back here!

Went for an early pre-Kennedy Center performance. Staff and kitchen very accommodating with a special request. Food cooked well and very tasty. Old Bay popcorn at table is nice touch. Only mild disappointment was the strawberry shortcake, which had terrific bisquits and whipped cream, but was a bit short on the strawberries. Have had prior lunches and found them very good. Personally, prefer menu to Farmers Fishers & Bakers in same complex.

Pre July 4 evening on the waterfront at OA. Delightful experience. Our bartender(DIxon) was attentive, appropriately chatty, and dressed snappily in his bow tie. A couple of fabulous cocktails(strongly recommend the lemon crush and the berry mojito)!! Dinner outside under the awning despite the rain. Terrific fried oysters, BALT, orange burger and grilled caesar salad. Waiter was attentive and friendly. Rain dampened the experience just a bit, but loved the vibe of the waterfront and will definitely return. Have to have another lemon crush!!

Orange Anchor sits right on the Harbor. Ask for a seat outside and you get that feeling of dining inside and out. The decor is harbor meets preppy meets sophisticated. Super neat and the menu is good too. But before you sit down swing over to the bar for their signature cocktail. Delicious. We have been to Orange Anchor twice now. A nice array of choice menu options. One of the nights we dined at Orange Anchor there were six in our group. We started with mussels and these yummy crab fritters! For dinner our group had everything from the grilled portobello, lobster mac and cheese, chicken sandwich, cheddar burger. Everyone was eating off each others plates. All good. Nicely cooked comfort food with a twist.

The space is nicely designed to fully open up to the Washington Harbor. The food is pretty good even though the menu doesn't have a lot of options. The Brussel Sprouts are quite delicious and the lobster roll is well done. Would come back for another visit on a similar night.

We went to Orange Anchor because we had heard the food was good and we wanted a nice outdoor dining experience with a view in DC. Though they do not accept reservations for their patio, they did have an outdoor table available at the time of our reservation - in between the patio and inside dining area, behind a giant pillar. We were satisfied with this since it was better than being inside but even the best patio seating didn't have much of a view since Orange Anchor is located down by the fountain at the harbor and not up on the main drag. It was a Monday night so we took advantage of $7 champagne and $1 oysters - we ordered a dozen of the chilled oysters. We ordered these before we ordered our meal. We received the drinks in about 10 minutes (no oysters) and at that time ordered our food. Not more than 15 minutes later, we received our entrees. Still no oysters. We were surprised that our food came so quickly - too quickly as we wanted our oysters first and also wanted to relax a little bit. We asked that since our entrees came, that we only get 1/2 dozen oysters instead. We started eating our entrees (mussels for my husband - a small portion and only luke warm) and the portobello mushrooms for me (delicious!). 5 minutes later a dozen oysters arrived - chilled but with champagne instead of cocktail sauce (this was another option for the oyster order - we ordered the "chilled oysters" not the "champagne oysters".) When we finished eating, we ordered another round of drinks - just a beer and a glass of champagne. It took over 20 minutes for those drinks to arrive and the restaurant wasn't busy - we felt rushed through the whole meal but then somewhat abandoned at the end. We didn't complain or make any fuss. The manager was apologetic, the service was friendly, and the food was good, but overall we were just disappointed in the location and the overall experience.

Orange Anchor was just OK. I had high hopes for lunch but left feeling disappointed. My reservation was at 1:30pm on a Saturday and they would only serve us the Brunch menu, even though the lunch menu began at 2pm. 2pm seems late for the lunch menu to begin. The food was decent but overpriced. The service was slow and we had to remind the waiter to bring us water, silverware, etc. Additionally, they marked me as absent for the reservation on OpenTable when I was not, which just added to my disappointment. The decor is fun and nautical. Definitely try to get an outdoor seat.

I met my dining companion here for brunch, and I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. I had the duck hash and it was amazing, not greasy or salty like I would've thought. My dining companion had pancakes which were amazing also. Now for the topper, since this is a seafood themed restaurant, I had to try the oysters, and I was not disappointed. I'd had some bad oyster a few years ago, and stopped eating them, glad I took a chance, because now I'm back to appreciating the sweet, briny little creatures. Check them out, you won't be sorry.

The two lobster tails had a very sweet rum sauce on them that we requested on the side. The waiter did not put it on the side. It took a fair amount of time to get the correct order redelivered (And they took the first two tails back... I'm hoping they didn't serve then to another table). Then the bill came and we were double charged for both orders of lobster tails. The manager did make the correction though... All and all it was tasty. The brussels sprouts were delicious! Service was friendly and warm hearted, just had a few mistakes here and there.

Location is amazing on Georgetown water front near Swedish embassy. The nautical theme is really cool especially if you're into boats and nautical themes. The food was really good, we ordered seared tuna, swordfish steaks, crab cake sandwich, lobster mac and cheese, and beef tartare. The food was quite impressive, highly recommend the lobster mac. Dining room isn't huge and could become noise filled quickly if it were full. Luckily when we were there it wasn't full. They do have outdoor seating however the water front was quite busy as well.

The location is great but the food was only OK. The breakfast potatoes tasted burnt and the eggs were dry so overall, not great. My friend had the breakfast burrito and she only took a few bites before she declared it was not a good choice. Our waiter was nice but we sat for almost ten minutes before he came over to take our drink orders. Once we ordered, we did get our food promptly. Like most of the restaurants on the Waterfront, the only decent thing about this was the view.

We had a wonderful experience at Orange Anchor this weekend. The staff was very accommodating and our server, Lindsay, was attentive, engaging and personable and did everything she dcould to ensure a great experience. Everyone was on their A-game when it came to making sure concerns over allergies were eased. Great drink menu as well! Really like the fact that you can get great food in a restaurant that matches their personality with their location (Waterfront) and doesn't feel stuffy. Looking forward to going back and please give Lindsay our thanks!

A few friends and I were looking for a new brunch place and Orange Anchor popped into my head. The menu is different, in all the rights ways. We ordered the chicken and biscuits and the Duck Confit Hash. Both were magical. I will most likely become a regular for their Duck Confit Hash and Smoked Gouda Grits. The service was a but slow, but its a new restaurant and their first weekend with outdoor seating. It is a perfect location for a casual brunch with incredible food for all. I plan on going back to try their oysters and the Kale Mary!

I brought out of town guests to Orange Anchor, thinking that it would be fun for them to see the Georgetown Waterfront. Despite having a reservation, they couldn't seat us until 30 minutes past our reserved time. It then took almost an hour to place our food order. There was even confusion about which entrees were available, delaying our orders even more. The total experience took almost 2.5 hours -- and not by choice. The food was not worth the wait.

This restaurant is near my office. A table next to ours whose occupants arrived later than we did was waited on before we were. The servers seemed unsure of what they were to do. Very tentative approach and then just standing there with a quizzical look on his face. Then another waiter came who seemed slightly better. But I would recommend some training. Quickly.

We checked in with the outdoor host with our reservation and were seated immediately. The food was all good. However, the dinner was marred by poor service. I could cite several examples but the biggest one was that our entrees were delivered at different times. There were 4 of us and my husband's entree came first. My entree and one of the others came about 5 minutes later and the last entree came about 10 minutes later than that.
