BRIO - Charlotte - Piedmont
You can sip and savor your way through the week at Brio! Mondays we offer $2.50 Bar Bites from 3:30 to 6:30 in the bar. Tuesdays you can whine a little with Half-Off Bottled Wine ($75 or less). Wednesdays are meant for cocktail infusions, they are just $5 all day.
The food seems to have taken a big turn down this year. Smaller portions etc but today I had lasagna that was covered wifh some sort of white sauce that tasted like Campbell's soup.
Noted that this was a special occasion on the comment section of reservation . No acknowledgement by the hostess or by wait staff. Seated prior to our reservation time, as we arrived early. Now for the dinning experience: 1 : ordered cocktails and appetizers. Drinks very good. Appetizers excellent. We had the Bruschetta Sampler, EXCELLENT, the Calamari Very Good. 2: Dinner selections: 6oz Filets well seasoned and cooked to order (rate it 4.5 out of 5), Salmon Fresca: not served hot, barely warm ( 2.5 out of 5). ordered wine to be serve with our entree. Entrees arrived, no wine, informed server, after several minutes had to flag down our waiter to request wine, again, finally server after an extended time.
3: Dessert: Cream Brûlée: sugar topping over caramelized to the point of burnt.
I've been there twice this month and both times the food and service were excellent.
I'll be back.
I ordered lamb chops. Was disappointed that double cut chops were difficult to cut the majority of the meat from the bones.
Brio is a must for our “girls only” weekend. Consistently good
good calamari - reasonable prices - filet was ok - service was top notch!
Wonderful! My mom was visiting and we had dinner there on a Saturday night. It was delicious. Beautiful restaurant.
Great food, excellent service, easy access to shopping, good wine selection
I have been to this- and other Brio locations many times and always enjoy my meal and the options provided and tonight was no different. What was different? The poor decision by management to have live music during prime dining hours.
My recommendation for all diners: please take the time to CALL AHEAD and ask if there is live music on the night you would like to attend. We didn't imagine that Brio would have something like that- and were surprised (in the bad way) to find that 3 musicians were playing in the bar area immediately inside the door as you walk in. How did we know they were there? We could hear them..... in our car ....while at valet parking.
Totally inappropriate for a VERY small bar area- at rock concert volumes- and a playlist that had nothing to do with the restaurant style - vibe- or clientele. They were playing music that you would find at any bar on a Friday night with $2 beer specials and it brought down the entire atmosphere.
As this is an open floorplan restaurant- we asked to be seated as far away as possible- and waited as they found a table at the very back of the restaurant. At that distance- the music was at a tolerable level.
Food - good.
Choice to have live music- ridiculous.
Great experience as always!! We have been there several times with family and friends and have never been disappointed. I chose Brio to celebrate my 49th Birthday because I knew it would be a wonderful experience...and it was!!
Consistently a great meal. Ask for Carley to be your Server. She’s Awesome!
BRIO used to be our go to place in Charlotte when traveling to and from Florida. NO MAS!! Two terrible meals ina row. Bad attitude with hostess and waiter...Food was unbelievably poor,Chef Boyardee in a can would be a step up. Off our list!
Good ambience. menu limited, but good food; not as good as a couple of others, but up there in the top 5 in the city. Glad we went. Recommmended!
Very disappointed with what Brio has done to their restaurant. They've changed out the whole decor, and feeling. Now it lacks any sense of...anything. The menu is largely the same, but the food doesn't even taste good anymore. It's like they got cheap with everything, including ingredients. Plus, outside of our server, everyone else was curt and rude. I can't see how they'd fix this problem. It might as well be an overpriced Olive Garden now.
The veal dish was fantastic and service! A great night out!
The wait staff was courteous and efficient. Our food was delicious. The drinks were a good pour. The music added a nice ambiance. It was not too loud that it made conversation difficult. I would recommend this restaurant.
We went there just for a quick dinner over my birthday. The staff was very nice and the food was amazing!
Overall a good place. We had been to the one in Raleigh. This one isn't quite as good, but that may have been due to the layout. There was a band playing which made it a bit hard to hear which is probably why the waiter put in the wrong food item for me. Once it was discovered, they quickly fixed the mistake. Food was very good. The chicken limone is very good. The caramel cheesecake is exceptional! I would also go out on a limb and say they have the best caesar salad. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant, and we will go back. I would not say this is the place to go for a romantic evening, but if you are in the mood for something Italian with a bit of noise, then this is the spot.
The gluten free menu got the immediate attention of our gluten free friend but they were out of gluten free pasta. Seriously?! He had the salmon instead and said it was perfect so not a big deal in the end. I had the chopped salad @350 calories and it was awesome. I really liked seeing calories listed on the menu. A healthy growing trend. Adding sodium content would be a welcome addition. Overall it was a nice evening and good experience.
We enjoyed it
I can always count on a wonderful experience when dining at Brio's. It's my go-to for special occasions.
Very yummy calamari appetizer (we requested "lightly fried"). Lobster bisque soup was tasty. Salmon Fresco and Steak Salad very, very good. We'll definitely return.
It was amazing.
Poor management, order was not correct told manager who never introduced herself by name to take my dinner from check. She spoke with my wife while I was not at the table. That she wold comp the meal and box it to go. Next the waiter arrived at the table with a dinner plate , I had to tell him twice I did not want the did at the table or to go. Very poor communication management and staff. The order was taken from the check no Apology from manager , Because of the mix-up the very least I could have expected was to have both my and my wife’s dinner taken care-of by the restaurant. Very disappointed, will be a long time before you earn my business. Management needs to deal with the patron who has difficulty not some. Other person at the table
Great food, service, and ambience!! Music on Friday night brought us in; however, fabulous food will keep us coming back!!
13th Wedding Anniversary
The outdoor seating was amazing! Our waiter was awesome! The food was great!! Love this chain restaurant whenever we travel and can find one!!
Birthday dinner for 2 friends - 8 in total. Food was great and our waitress was awesome!!! She did magic splitting checks for covering birthday girls and dividing everything. She was very attentive to our needs. Free desserts and then music and a little dancing in bar. A great time was had by all!!!
Went for our anniversary. Food was very good. Service good. Would go back again.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner. It was very loud - partly because we were seated next to a table of 12 women and partly because a live band was playing. But conversation was almost impossible. The food was excellent. I had a gin & tonic and our waitress mixed it up with my water glass and refilled it with water. When I told her she was horrified and immediately brought be a fresh drink on the house. Once things quieted down the evening was perfect!
Excellent place. I’ve met groups, taken my wife for anniversary dates, and brought my teenagers for birthday dinners. Food is excellent and not too pricey.
Service and food outstanding! Read was our waitress. She was attentive and took extra care to note food allergies. Have eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. 👍
We loved it!! The only think we would chanee is the music. Classical music on a quite afternoon will go so much better while enjoying the food.
Met old friends to dine on the patio. Our food was great and Cody was a fabulous waiter. His attention to detail was on spot. Thank you for keeping Chicken Limone on the menu.
one of our best experiences at Brio. New menue and our entre was delicious
Our server was great! Cauliflower appetizer was very tasty. My shrimp and lobster fettuccine was very flavorful, but too heavy with garlic and could have used more seafood. My wife ordered the halibut daily special. The fish was dry and definitely not worth the $41 price tag, which we were not told of and only learned when the bill arrived. We'll be much more cautious about that in the future.
Excellent service and excellent food
Definitely I will recommend this great Restaurant
Great food great location everyone in my group raved about this place.
