We love Southerleigh and as always, we had a great time. Dinner and service was outstanding. Then again, it always is. Love the new menu BTW.
Everything about this place is amazing. Service was friendly. The space is beautiful. The food and beer were the best! Raving about it!
Absolutely loved this place. The manager was phenomenal and truly vibed well with us after seeing my husband's cool shoes.
Date night, we ordered oysters and I had the scallops with rice. They were both delicious but the rice was AMAZING!
Cold food, service gets worse with each visit:-( All we ordered were appetizers. Took 20 minutes just to get a glass of wine. Slow to serve but eager to grab our plates before we were finished.
Great service. Food was good. Only negative was the noise level.
Great comfort food, enjoyed deviled eggs, pretzel, fried chicken, corn bread, and cheese grits. Lively fun atmosphere but still able to visit and enjoy conversation with friends.
Amazing brunch and great service! Reservations are the way to go, sat down right away and started grubbing!
My husband and I have eaten here several times, but this was our first time for dinner. The sever was fantastic and answered all of our questions about the menu. Our food was amazing! My husband said it was the best schnitzel he has had and the redfish was delicious. We are never disappointed.
Wonderful food and ambiance!
I had an early brunch and great experience. Brianna my server provided outstanding service. Her recommendation was spot on.She was friendly and answered any questions we had. I would highly recommend thr brunch.
Food was fantastic. Seating in front of kitchen was awesome.
Excellent food as usual. Our server Donna was amazing.
Southerleigh is a go to for me for business lunches and the service is usually great. Unfortunately, it was lacking this time with many missteps by our server, an appetizer that never showed up, etc. I’ll give it another chance, but it was disappointing. The food was good as always, but the mac and cheese has changed and was clearly a downgrade in taste and quality. I hope the old version comes back!
We were visiting San Antonio for the first time and had read about Southerleigh. My husband enjoyed the IPAs. We loved the fried oysters; it is such a treat to find them on a menu. The Pearl area is busy and great for people watching. We enjoyed our evening very much.
Great date night with my husband! Sat at the kitchen bar and watched the chefs at work. Food was excellent as well as the staff! We will be back for sure.
Nice atmosphere and restaurant in the historic Emma Hotel at the Pearl district...in the old Pearl Beer distillery. Lots to do and see in the area.
Some of the most beautiful part of the river walk and not crowded....and it is quiet.
Unique menu with every visit, good service. Not a place for intimate conversation or children. Usually a busy environment - reservations are a must and honored quickly upon arrival.
The cracker crusted redfish was more than the amazing the waitress promised. It was light, tasty, moist, oh so flavorful! The butter sauce surrounding the lump crab was a wonderful compliment. This was definitely a favorite meal for San Antonio.
The booth seating across from the kitchen bar top was perfect for seeing but not being in the mix too much.
The cheddar jalapeño grits were bowl licking worthy - we ordered grits and mashed potatoes both for the table - the grits were empty bowl and the potatoes just a few bites missing. Get the grits!
Went for my sister's birthday.
Was able to get a reservation and we were sat as we arrived. Sometimes, even with a reservation places will still make you wait, so this was a nice treat.
The restaurant is set in an old brewery and so there is a lot of character in the design throughout the building. The bar side is definitely set up to be better for having a beer and a standing crowd while the restaurant side is nice and comfy chairs and tables that are close together, but not too bad.
Service was great. They even brought out a delicious Mississippi Mud Pie for dessert (on the house) as a happy birthday.
The food menu is awesome. Started with Oysters on the half shell - would have loved charred oysters as an option, but they did have several options of origin for oysters. The balsamic sauce they provide is delicious along with standard cocktail sauce and lemon.
For actual entrees, we struggled to choose just one as we all said - I could literally eat any of these options and be happy. Portion sizes were definitely big enough to share if you wanted to do multiple dishes for the table. They also do family style sides which are easily shareable for 2. There were a lot of flavors available and nothing was too overpowering.
With it being an old brewery, they still brew their own beer on site, and so their beer list was all in house beers with all sorts of varieties for any pallet. The wine list was also pretty big with options by the glass and bottle that were reasonably priced.
I have been to Southerleigh twice now and both times were very consistent and all the more reason to want to go back again in the future.
Reservations for Saturday night prime time for a twin 21st birthday. Awesome craft brews, oysters (Beau Soliel were amazing) and main courses! Great service! We’ll be back again!
This restaurant is ok, My wife and I anniversary is the reason we came here to try something different, food was a bit over priced and salty. I would come here for beer but not to eat again. Great meet up spot for friends to have a beer seeing that its central in the Pearl.
Awesome food. Awesome wine and beer selection. My wife and I had the steak and shrimp boil. The Mississippi Mud pie is a must!
The only thing that was off was the size of the oysters we had, they were extremely small.
Great food and service. We dined while staying at hotel Emma. It was a great recommendation from friends as well as the hotel.
Only thing that bothered me was that the table was not ready when we arrived , that’s the reason why I made a reservation, to have it ready for us when we arrived. The ambiance , service and food was very good
Came for my sons 4th birthday brunch. I LOVED that they give kids dough to make their pretzels. He really enjoyed it. My food was beyond delicious. So much so that I feel as though I mindlessly inhaled it. The only bother we’re the flys. It’s was like 2 or 3 of them pestering us but it was more annoying than anything.
Family brunch. Pretzel was amazing but the entrees were not as good as expected. Go for the beer and snacks and ambience.
Hated this place.... waiter was obnoxious... our daughter's steak that was ordered from a kids menu was completely raw... you must have the dumbest chef that serves raw food to a kid... we had to send the steak back and it came back when our food was finished... my husband picked a beer from the menu and the waiter decided he should have another one because he thought another one was better... what can I say, the list is long... I had a salad as starter... the obnoxious waiter was standing above my head waiting for me to finish it so he could clear the table so that I could have more room.... GET BIGGER TABLES THEN.... I felt stressed eating my food... I ordered beef cheeks ... 1/5 of my plate was over cooked meat and the rest deep fried potato skins....they certainly don't waste anything... our bill was $155 and we left him $25 tip... the guy sniffed at it....overrated and awful
Of our three entrees, one of the meals, entree and side, was barely warm.
Two steaks cooked to the wrong temp. One was extremely tough with a lot of indelible parts. We never got one of the sides, even after asking twice. The mac and cheese casserole tasted like it had been made yesterday and microwaved.
Just overall a bad lunch, which I have not experienced here before. Disappointing because it was the first time for my two guests and they were excited.
The manager did comp some food and offer a gift card so that was very nice.
Fantastic food and service....ambience was well designed
We’ve eaten here before and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Art, our server, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, made solid and very useful recommendations and essentially helped make the evening special. Another great time at Southerleigh’s!
Great food, nice atmosphere and, loved the venue-old Pearl Brewery.
Owner greeted us, set the mood for a great evening. Genuine, Hospitable, Service was outstanding; had a wonderful time.
Great food and exceptional service. Location and ambiance was excellent would definitely recommend
It took several minutes for the hostess to even acknowledge we were there even though multiple other employees were walking by. Then we sat about 10 minutes prior to any wait staff coming by. After ordering some of the parties food was brought out cold.
My review is based only on Brunch on the weekends, special brunch menu which is limited, it appears the kitchen was overwhelmed.....food was just OK breakfast steak had unusual topping on it, chicken and waffle was one wing and one small thigh. Again, my review is just for this visit. We have been many times during the week with the normal menu and have always been very pleased with the food and the service.
Wonderful! It was great!
Cool place with amazing food- I just wish they served liquor. All-in-all, a great place!
