   The restaurant was not full, lots of empty tables. Service was very slow, took 15 minutes to get water. When we did get water only 2 glasses got filled for our party of 5. Not sure why, after waitress left, my son went and got the pitcher she left on bar and filled all but one glass. I had Double Smash Burger, it had one small patty, more bun than anything. I thought Double smash meant 2 patties, it must mean they smash it twice as thin. One of the worse burgers I’ve had locally. My wife’s soup came out 5-10 minutes after everyone else’s food. The soup was warm, not hot. No manager came to our table. It was Mother’s Day so I didn’t want to make a fuss. Everything was very average. The price for what you got was terrible.

   It’s a convenient restaurant if you happen to be staying at the woodlands resort, but the food was sub par and it is quite noisy.

   My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Back Table Kitchen on Friday evening. The Hostess team was very accommodating to us as a very large party (40+ people, I think) arrived just before us and seated us in the bar area which we very much appreciated. Our waitress, Shaylee, was very engaging and attentive to us and completely met our needs for the evening. We also enjoyed listening to the lady who was providing live music as well. Our drinks were prepared as ordered and the food was tasty as we shared several items on the menu...the Tamal was really good as was the Smashburger! Again, "cuddos" to the entire team working the restaurant on this evening as the situation was a bit challenging with the large party.

   We went at 4, Happy Hour. Enjoyed sitting outside watching the golfers come in to the 18th hole. Beautiful day and great menu.

   The rating of fair was based on the true service provided when making a reservation. I called to ask what time dinner would be served we were told 4 PM. We arrived at 10 minutes before four and we were told that dinner was not served until five and you cannot order until 445 we had someone drive all the way from the Pearland area to meet us at dinner at four based on what the restaurant staff told us at that point we sat and ordered appetizers Which we would not done at dinner. to Take some time and wait until we were able to order from the dinner menu then we ordered our meal and dessert. The manager thanked us for staying, but never suggested comping an appetizer or anything based on the fact that we stayed and the manager even told us they have been having the same issue for 10 months with their personnel telling individuals that dinner started at 4. this was their issue not ours and the last comment Our reservation was marked that we were celebrating a birthday. There was no complementary dessert offered to the birthday person so my fair is based on Service.

   We had a wonderful dinner. We were warmly greeted by Christy, who thoughtfully sat us at her favorite table. There was live music at the bar. She played the piano & has a beautiful voice - I didn’t catch her name but she was great. The music was not too loud for dinner & was a perfect addition to the evening. The Brussel Sprouts & Artichoke dip & chips are delicious. The bar manager answered questions about the custom barrel whiskey. We enjoyed the unique & very tasty spirits. The service was fantastic & we will absolutely be visiting again.

   Overall the service was great the atmosphere was nice but sadly the food not so good. It wasn’t bad per se but it lacked flavor and was very bland. Plus for the cost of the NYE dinner “experience” it left a lot to desire. I don’t think I would come back to this restaurant

    Resort was great..... Unfortunately my wife and I both had the worse experience we've ever had at a restaurant. We both dine out a couple of times a week for work or person. I reference this because that will tell you we've had a few bad experiences along the way. But this place was REALLY BAD!!! Very unfortunate for such a nice resort.
