Joule, the first restaurant from celebrated husband and wife cooking team Rachel Yang and Seif Chirchi, is re-located in October, 2012 to the innovative, newly developed the Fremont Collective in Seattle’s Wallingford/Fremont neighborhood. From its original opening in 2007, Joule has cultivated a loyal dining fan base and captured the attention of an admiring local and national media captivated by the couple’s unique, modern perspective on Korean cuisine. Joule, the mature sibling to Yang and Chirchi’s restaurant, Revel, highlights Korea’s love of beef featuring unconventional cuts accompanied by distinctive and shareable side dishes.

Joule takes reservations for 1.75-3 hour time slots (depending on party size). We do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible and ask that you are considerate of other diners at the end of your meal. If you feel that your party requires more time, please let us know in the notes and we will get back to you with our available accommodations.

Depending on party size, budget, and/or occasion we have dining and buyout options for the dining room, bar, patio, and full restaurant.Food & drinks for all events will reflect food similar to that found on our menus. Food is available in several formats: family-style buffet, family-style seated, plated seated, or small bites/canape buffet. Please discuss which will work best for your event with our Event Manager.     We loved our 26th anniversary dinner at Joule. We sat in the 'outside' section, and found it pretty difficult to have a conversation without lots of loudness and repetition.

    The entire dinner was a great experience, beginning with outstanding service from Sierra, who took care of us, to her guidance on selecting our drinks, and then providing a good conversation about what we were considering to order for food, and, in the end, outstanding food throughout the evening. The pace was right on the money, no rush, yet with appropriate speed. Our two hour dinner could not have been better.

    Everything was so delicious, the service was great. The only gripe I have was that the short rib steak I had compared to my friend's was that there was so much fat and tendon in mine. Whereas for her cut, it was free of those things. Consistency for 2 dishes was very different. Other than that, I will still go to Joule because the food was sooooo tasty!

    Went to Joule for a nice dinner while on vacation in the Seattle area. Had an excellent meal overall. The “family style” menu encourages you to order multiple dishes to share and is a great opportunity to try new dishes. The spicy rice cake and short rib steak were outstanding and the cocktails were very creative. Because you need to order multiple dishes for the table the total bill can get a little expensive but it is well worth it if you are looking for a special meal while on vacation or for a special occasion.

    Loved every as per usual! Crazy fun flavors in every bit. We had the bone marrow, broccoli, kimchi, spicy rice cakes, scallion pancakes, mackerel, flan, Black Forest cake, coconut shortbread. Sat out on the patio and it was a perfect night.

    Service is impeccable. Food menu is a little narrow but can always find something to eat. Please bring back the picked beets. Much better than the kimchi.

    Excellent service and our server, Nicole, really steered us in the right direction. I enjoy shared dishes so this style of dining is right up my alley. Every dish had a refreshing spin to something familiar. While some bites were slightly over salted for my palate, everything was as a whole very tasty and well executed. It’s a special occasion type of place for me but I’d go again for sure.

    We came to celebrate a family birthday (as we've done a few times before) and were thrilled and highly satisfied again. Joule is one of the most consistent restaurants in Seattle, and has been since their days on 45th in Wallingford. Don't miss the spicy rice cakes, any season vegetable dish such as the amazing pea greens Lyonnaise, or the always dependable short rib steak with kimchi. Highly recommended.

    All the dishes we tried were amazing and the staff was so helpful and kind. The geoduck black rice was something new and quite wonderful. The scallops were to die for. And the "For You I Will" was possibly the best craft cocktail I've ever had. We went for a birthday and both the hostess and the serve wished a happy birthday and they brought out a delicious complimentary cake for dessert. We loved everything about it and will definitely be back.

    The server made us feel extremely u comfortable. She was giving us attitude/judging for how little amount of food we ordered multiple times. And constantly pressing us to order more in the most passive aggressive way.

    Both beef dishes we ordered were so chewy they were practically inedible. 2 out of the 4 of us actually had to spit out bites into our napkins because we couldn’t chew through the meat enough to swallow it.

    Simply the best place for innovative fusion cuisine and at attractive pricing. Not the place for someone who is not willing to try new things but always worth the visit. The chorizo rice cake dish is one of the greatest ones we have had and consistently good. Dan Dan noodle, scallion pancake, and the tartare all had unique flavors that were delectable. The ribeye was an new add to us but spectacular as were the scallops. Wine list very reasonable as are cocktails. Brandie and staff are consummate professionals and do a great job of introducing the menu to newbies. Got us through Covid and still going strong. Bravo Rachel and Seif.

    This is a very cool place! The food is served family style so we got to try everything, but the plates were pretty small. It was very expensive! Our server was awesome at giving us recommendations and explaining the items on the menu. Not sure we would go back just because of cost. But glad we tried it.

    It has been a while since I have been to Joule, and I must say it was amazing as ever. We had the smoked tofu salad, pea vine Lyonnaise, rice cakes with chorizo and “that” short rib steak. Nice bottle of wine and life is good!! Service was perfect! Love the vibe too!

    Food was excellent - extraordinarily flavorful. Every dish is surprising in some way. Service was very good. We especially appreciated that when our server was busy, other servers would come take care of our table. Only criticism is that it can get very loud if you’re seated near a loud party.

    Absolutely brilliant meal from start to finish. The cocktails were interesting and well crafted. The food was well thought out and well prepared. Portion sizes were perfect for each item (although we obviously wanted more of everything) and the server was attentive and helpful.

    Went for my birthday and asked for side by side seating. We received a corner table, had spectacular food (the scallops with miso parsnip + apple chutney + pomegranate was a wonderful pairing), amazing service (we took a selfie with the server!), and overall fun experience! Would come again :)
