How can food this delicious be this reasonably priced? A delightful French bistro, with outside seating allowing for ample viewing of passersby. COVID precautions were followed to a T (virtual menus, all servers wearing masks and gloves, tables appropriately spaced). The best escargot I have ever had. Period. A definite new favorite.

One if the best covid-19 dining experiences I had! They made their existing sidewall dining area fully compliant with the city’s guidelines, but with tasteful distinctions: well appointed planters, plexiglass barriers between tables and KN-95 type masks for their staff. Add the string lighting and outdoor heaters and we no longer felt it was a hobbled, compromised dinner. The food & service were of high quality as expected from one of Daniel’s establishments. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a taste of normalcy.

food was excellent as always. when we arrive we were advised our time limit for dining was 1 hour 15 minutes which was totally understandable for outdoor dining during the pandemic. However, drink orders were not taken until 15 minutes after we had sat down which made us feel like we needed to rush our meal. If a restaurant needs to put time limits on dining during the current situation, the timeliness of service is crucial.

First of all: the menu is always impressive. Second: the quality of service has improved so much!! They pay attention to details, they recall one’s requests and remind one of them when serving, they are CAREFUL in their service in a very elegant manner. It seems like they all get to know the profile of the patron once one place an order. Enjoy!!

We ate outdoors, due to the pandemic. It was handled very well & made us feel comfortable. Our server was friendly, helpful & professional. Understandably, the choices were not as extensive as their regular menu, but certainly enough tempting items to choose from. Well done!

Our dinner at Bar Boulud was superb in every way: The good was excellent. The service was excellent. The ambiance was excellent, including music from nice guitar on the sidewalk. The arrangement of the tables, behind plexiglass partitions, was reassuring and well done.

Bar Boulud is the best restaurant on the Upper West Side. My wife and I celebrated a big birthday there recently. The food was perfect and the service was impeccable. The staff treated us like beloved family. We both ordered the same prix fixe dinner, including velvety cucumber gazpacho, crisp-skinned, juicy branzino filets with farro, and delicious desserts. A great value at $39 per person. The wine steward deserves special mention. She was knowledgable and passionate and found us unusual but perfect wine pairings for our meal. The only downside was unavoidable. Because of COVID-19 restrictions, everyone has to sit outdoors these days, not far from a busy stretch of Broadway near Lincoln Center. The noise level was tolerable and did not interfere with conversation, but it would have been quieter indoors, of course. I recommend Bar Boulud and will return again and again!

Bar Boulud used to be my least favorite restaurant. Now Bar Boulud is my favorite restaurant. What happened? Bar Boulud serves dinner outside in a civilized setting. Bar Boulud serves wonderful tasty food and gives good choices of fish/seafood dinners. Bar Boulud has a good wine selection. The price of a Bar Boulud dinner is reasonable. The Bar Boulud staff give great service and are polite and attentive. Bar Boulud takes reservations!
