Vinny's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Vinny's is a special old fashion Italian restaurant. You can get meals there that you can't find many other places, such as tripe and rabbit. The home made pasta is fantastic. My favorite is the many ways they prepare calamari. Wine list is limited, but the spectacular food makes up for that.
Took a great friend here from Atlanta who lives great Italian food - she loved the authentic dishes. The homemade sausages ( made in house) were a bit hit. And our antipasto platter was a huge revelation for her. The Limoncello Tartuffo dessert made us both extremely happy - a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful meal. The service was exemplary
Choose vinnys based on Phantom Review and internet reviews. We were looking for a casual Italian place and this one sounded perfect. We arrived by Uber so parking wasn't a problem. Had a reservation and we seated right away. As mentioned you question where you're going when you walk in as it a neighborhood deli. People are in line buying subs. You look to the back and there is a small cozy area for dining. Our waiter was great. Allowed us to sit with a glass of wine before ordering. We never felt rushed. I ordered chicken parm with fresh fuscilli and my friend choose chicken stir fry. Both dishes were hot and delicious. The prices were on the top side for Basic Italian but the portions were enormous and prepared perfectly. The right choice for us that night.
Was ok. I come here often
Food was great as it always is- but wait staff was quite slow, and a little negligent. Biggest criticism was toward the end of our main meal when they used bleach to clean sonething near our table and the smell made it hard to taste the food afterwards. We almist left. I mentioned something- they apologized and the smell disipated.
Food is always good here. Homemade pasta. Great antipasto. Sauces well seasoned. And its authentic. I will be back. But tonight wasnt the best with the tacky use of bleach so near dinibg room while diners were eating.
Vinny's has really good Sicilian cuisine, including rabbit and some Sicilian wines. Large entrees - great value...They will serve a first course pasta family style if you ask. It's a very casual place, almost too much so, but it's part of the ambiance. Used to be a more of a convenience store in the front w/restaurant in the back, but less so now. The wait staff can be a tiny bit rough around the edges, but friendly and good. There's one young gentleman who's been working there for years who is always friendly and calm no matter how crazy busy it is. The double pork chop with peppers is fantastic, the homemade fusilli pasta can't be beat. Wonderful eggplant parm...So many great dishes... This is a great neighborhood restaurant that's worth a drive. I never get tired of it.
Vinny’s is Always good! Nothing is ever below a B. The eggplant parmigiana is nice & thin. The homemade pasta is delicious and cooked properly. The portions of most items are enormous. Good meatballs - proper consistency. I often get a side of meatballs or sausage if there is no meat in my chosen entre. The service varies but is never poor. It’s real comfort food for us: consistent, served hot & delicious.
Great as usual. This time I had the Sicilian rqabbit--a dish hard to find anywhere else. Big pieces of on-the-bone stweweed rabbit--a little like chicken, only tastier,--coooked with olives, celery and capers. It's pungent and tasty, unusual but delicious. One of my Vinny's favorites--also served at lunch. And with a side of angel-hair pasta with Vinny's unbelievably good marinara sauce--what could be better on a cold winter night? And the service is tops!
Food is always awesome here. Found this place through open table and have been back 3 times since
Pastas are freshly made, and sauces truly Sicilian. Brocciole perfect.
Small space which can get noisey.
Waitress refused to make cappuccino for us (a must for Italian restauranrs) because she was alone on shift and it takes too much time.
Other than that disappointment, all else was great
My third time eating here since I found it in open table. Small place. Not a fancy space, but food is authentic. I had the chicken saltilimbica. Was very good.
In short, I keep going back. I wouldn't if it were not good food at good price. Just don't expect fancy service in a posh setting. It's a neighborhood spot
Was at Vinny's last week to celebrate a freind's birthday (her choice of restaurant), and everyone loved it. Then went back just for some delicious comfort food. The manicotti wasn't on the menu, but it was available if you asked for it. It's the best manicotti I've ever had, and it's a mystery why it's not on the regular menu. But ask and you might receive. Deeply flavorful and creamy and in a generous portion, it's fabulous!
Vinny's is a wonderful neighborhood, casual restaurant, but don't be fooled by the overtly casual atmosphere. The food is really great and you get a huge plate of food - such value rarely exists anymore. On my most recent visit, we had such a nice server (Nancy?) and I was happy to see that the fellow at the pass was someone who's been there for a number of years... that's a good sign.
Vinny's never disappoints. Hearty, delicious, authentic Italian. Generous portions, casual atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff who make sure you're not thirsty AND you're happy with your food.
The arancini are wonderful, eggplant special delicious and big enough for leftovers the next day. Anything I've ever had here is amazing and the seafood always fresh.
Don't risk not getting a table - definitely make a reservation on a weekend night.
My second time to vinnys in 2 weeks. Took my best friend. He has been craving rabbit for a long time. This place serves rabbit Sicilian style. I had chicken saltilimboca. Was super.
Over all was less impressed than the first time. But was very good experience.
Service was ok. Was half way through the meal and had to remind our server for our initial drink order.
All in all, a great value for portions and quality. I will return again.
Birthday lunch. Parents took me. I chose this restaraunt based on open table reviews. Certainly lives up to reputation. I had a brocciole over fusilli that was the best I ever had. Didn't need a knife. Tender. Tasty. Sauce was perfect Sicilian style sauce. Perfectly made. Low acid and not overly sugared. Mom got chicken. Dad got veal. Dad said was tender and made perfect.
Cannoli was perfect crunch and light riccotta.
Only complaint was the antipasto salad didn't have much meat. Sicilian antipasti has a better balance of meat to lettuce.
Prices were reasonable.
I will go back for sure
Vinnie's is one of my absolute favorite places to eat. When I am not going out for a meal, I pick up a small packaged dinner of eggplant parmesan, pasta and meatballs, etc to take home. The home-made pasta is exceptional and there is a neighborhood feel that is comfortable and inviting. My friends from out-of-state always want to go to Vinnie's when they visit.
