We have never been disappointed at Black's. They know their way around a fish. Go on a Sunday! It's not crowded. We reserved about an hour ahead and had no problem getting the time we wanted. So many great choices on the menu, along with attractive specials - but probably more than half the time I get the seafood stew because I love it [bonus points for bringing a spoon for the broth without having to ask]. Salads are generous and fresh. Service was friendly, professional, and not rushed (thank you for not clearing plates before we were both finished). Minor quibble - teeny (but interesting) pieces of bread. And at a place this nice, I bristle at being called "you guys" by the hostess.

Everything is consistently perfect at this restaurant. We brought friends who never knew about it and they left in love with this place. Carlos, our waiter is great at taking care of us and everyone around us. I don't know how he efficiently handles so many tables, but he does. Thank you

Took my mother there for lunch. This was our first experience there and would definitely return. Food was so flavorful. Service was outstanding. We were able to order quickly and food came quickly. Quality and favor was just as wonderful.

When I go to a restaurant at 6.15pm I don't expect to be rushed through the order. It was difficult to sit back and relax when you being told the kitchen is taking last orders at 7pm after you have order a nice bottle of LP Rose and trying just to take your time. Food was Ok, nothing to really impress.

I am very upset with this restaurant. The morning of our reservation we called to see about adding a 5th person who surprised us for Mother’s Day. The hostess who answered the phone said there was no way to accommodate this. We offered to squeeze an extra chair in or move our time to accommodate they said no. When we got to the restaurant it was maybe half full or 1/3 empty. The hostess was very rude. By the time we had left it had not filled up at all. I cannot believe how poorly managed this place is.

It was an overall fine dinner, but nothing at all to get excited about. The indoor ambience feels quite dated and geared toward an older diner. The appetizers were good, but the main courses were extremely underwhelming and bland. We are new to the area and had high hopes based on the menu but likely won't be back.

Everything was great. I didn't give 5 stars for the food as, to my taste, the sauce on the lamb chops overwhelmed the flavor of the meat. But that was a minor complaint and everything else was outstanding.

I enjoyed dining at this place. We had half dozen raw oysters for appetizers and it was fresh and delicious in big tray of ice with condiments on the side. We both had fish. Rockfish and bronzini Mediterranean style with two glasses of sparkling rose wine. The quality of food was great and well prepared. I personally had some of the best fish dishes here last night. For desert we had chocolate cake! This was in specialty menu but wasn’t moist and rich. I had much better chocolate cake than here. The waiter was not very attentive and in rush. He only came once to ask if we need anything else. Considering that you pay 20% tip on average, I feel service could have been friendlier and better prepared. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant in Bethesda.

I was greeted right away and seated. Our waiter, Ryan, who is in training and his trainer, served us exceptionally well. The food was delicious!!!! All of the servers were great! I would fine here again.
