I had veal chop parm. It was deep fried and tough. I was expecting a more tender cut. Service was good and apps were good
Whenever in Providence RI be sure to head over to Federal Hill (Little Italy) and you will be amazed to see the clarity of quality restaurants.
Pane y Vino is right up there and will surely go back on my next trip back to New England.
Great service and wonderful food. The cardinale pasta, the catch of the day, and the arancini are favorites of ours.
Great as usual.
Had been to Pane Vino a long time ago and had a good experience. Decided on this for our 30th Anniversary Dinner. We arrived in time for our reservation and was told it would be 10 minutes until our table was ready, which was fine. Bar area is small but we wound up with a seat and had a cocktail while we waited. After about 15 minutes, the Manager came over and apologized for the delay. They had a table that had been cleared but the customers were in no hurry to leave. I understand, these things can happen on a Saturday night.
The Manager was amazing...she came over several times in what turned out to be about a 30 minute wait and apologized and said they were doing their best to "hurry along" the other party. At the end she offered us a free appetizer that would be ready at our table when we sat down, for our troubles.
Many other restaurants could learn a lesson from this Manager. She was wonderful!
Being our anniversary, they had the table set up with little heart decorations and a nice card on the table. Again, a wonderful touch.
Our waiter was fantastic, very energetic and prompt without hovering. We had a bottle of wine, and ordered one of the specials...a Veal Chop. Although a bit pricey, it was really tasty, a Fruti Di Mare that was great and another Veal Dish with artichokes. Overall a wonderful meal and a delayed reservation that was handled perfectly. Way to go Pane Vino...we will be back.
The food as always was excellent. Service was great and the gluten free options were fantastic. It is hard to find a gluten free menu with gnocchi and other favorites and I was more than pleased with all the options! And they have pretty good gluten free bread as well, which is always a plus! Love going here!
The staff was friendly and the food was superb! It also has complimentary valet parking which took away from the stress of having to find parking.
Server was very informative very knowledgeable about the specials as well as Wines- food was served hot-food was excellent
Service was the best I've experienced in a very long time.
Dinner was fantastic, as was the service. Jonathan, our server, allowed us to take our time and enjoy our meal. The Chicken Saltimbocca was delicious and the Eggplant Parm was also. We love good food and would definitely return when visiting Providence again.
Had a wonderful meal with my husband. They accommodated my dairy and gluten allergy. Gluten/dairy free rolls were delicious!
Nothing but outranking from arrival to departure. No one is hurried and all food is prepared based on the diner's request. Perfection is their goal.
Our first time here and it was just wonderful. Perfect date night or celebration spot.
Never disappointed here. 5th visit and always top notch food and service. Go there
Angelica was very friendly and explained menu thoroughly all the specials as well. We were happy to be in the back of restaurant it was quiet and you could have a conversation.
Wonderful time. Food fantastic!!!
I was sat at bar, which was a big mistake. I wanted a table but was told as a party of one, there were no tables. Bartenders were expecting someone else so I received worst service in many years. 12 minutes just to order. Was not given bread till 17 minutes in (couple next to me who was friends with bartender came 7 minutes after I sat down, received drinks and bread before I got to order. Food was good, not great. Chicken parmesan came with 2 cutlets but only one had cheese. The 2nd was just a cutlet. Makes no sense. Dish was served with rigatoni, not spaghetti, and it tasted like boxed pasta. Sauce was ok, nothing special. Meat and cheese appetizer had more vegetables than anything else, but overall fish was good. If the service was about 3 levels better, maybe a 4 star place. But with that service, they barely earn 3.
Always enjoy going here for special occasions. The food is very good, and the staff are efficient, friendly, not overbearing. It is quite pricey, not someplace I can go every week. Our waiter, Edward, was very knowledgeable about the wines and suggested some great wine pairings.
Pane e Vino never disappoints. It is truly one of the finest eateries on Federal Hill in Providence. The cuisine is genuine Italian prepared to perfection, the meatballs are absolutely the best to be had, and they always highlight a number of specials that are not to be missed. The ambiance is friendly and inviting, service is outstanding and attentive, and not over bearing. Their wine list is extensive and diversified and will suit any wine lover without question. And by the way, don't skip dessert with a well made cappucino or espresso. Mangia.
Absolutely delicious! I had the pork chop with figs and it was the best pork chop I have ever had! Service was great as well as the ambiance.
You won’t find better Italian food, wine and service. Heather greets you warmly and makes sure you’re promptly seated. Edward then takes over with wonderful service, knowledge of each dish, and wine pairings.
always a good experience. food and wine - great! service was prompt and helpful. we were given a table by the fireplace as it was our 40th anniversary. we appreciated that. one of our favorite restaurants.
The service was impeccable, and friendly, and the food very creative while still wholesome. I loved the prosciutto over arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette dressing, and my wife was equally delighted with her mixed salad. Unfortunately she was a little less impressed with the lobster ravioli that followed, because the waiter had described the chunks of lobster to be found inside the pasta, whereas the ravioli were accompanied by chunks, but inside they were minced. She enjoyed it anyway, leaving nothing on her plate, and our waiter more than made up for this with the most delectable light (yes, really) bread pudding we have ever experienced - offered with a delicious nocello liqueur. I almost forgot ... my entree - the pan-seared local scallops on a bed of saffron risotto - was exquisite. And the recommended wines paired beautifully with our dishes. It helped too that they were half-price on a Monday evening.
The restaurant was busy and bustling but not very noisy, and all the staff were very attentive and allowed us to enjoy our meal without feeling at all hurried. We'll be back in a heartbeat.
Pane e Vino remains to be phenomenal in every possible way! Our entrees were prepared with care and consideration of dietary needs, our waiter, Luigi, was always there to assist, and new manager, Heather, checked on every table throughout the evening. Absolute perfection!
Excellent food and service for manageable prices. Great wine deals . Our waiters were very helpful and professional! Love this restaurant!
Long wait in between first and second courses.
Heather and Edward are the best! Great service and they really know their stuff. Can’t go wrong.
We picked this restaurant randomly and it couldn't have been better. Our table wasn't ready when we got there so we sat at the bar- the bartender bought us a drink and when we were seated the manager came right over to apologize for the wait and offer to buy us an appetizer. Honestly we didn't even care and only waited 10 minutes but the extra attention was greatly appreciated. The food was great and our waitress even better. I would highly recommend.
We have eaten several times at Massimo, and we were excited to try Pane e Vino. Both sister restaurants are outstanding. Authentic Italian food with contemporary flare. We chose to try both restaurants because each offered a separate Gluten Free menu, which is such a treat for anyone with Celiac Disease. We have both an adult and child with CD. While many items on the menu are naturally GF, it is so nice to have a separate GF menu where you can relax like regular patrons. The service and food was outstanding. Extremely knowledgeable wait staff at both restaurants. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
My wife and I enjoyed dinner in Providence and had an outstanding experience at Pane E Vino. Great atmosphere and the best Italian food we’ve had in a long time.
The food was exquisite; and our server was really great. I had the Rigatoni which was amazing. It's a bit pricey but you're paying for a great dining experience.
Went to Pane for a birthday dinner. Upon arriving the manager warmly greeted us and she confirmed my noted dietary restrictions. Our server and his trainee were excellent. We enjoyed the grilled Octopus, Funghi veal chop, and lobster ravioli. Everything was cooked to perfection. Empty plates and glasses were removed within thirty seconds of finishing, giving us plenty of table space. I’ve been here twice now and this is the only place I’ve ever gone in Providence where I have not had a single complaint. Simply put the waitstaff, manager, and chef made this birthday an amazing experience. We finished the night off with a complimentary birthday dessert and limoncellos from the manager. Best service in Providence and the food is amazing as well!
We had a great dinner for 4 with excellent service. Special changes were made at one diner's request with easy, generous attitude. The portions were great and the bread pudding a la mode is amazing! The Monday wine discount is wonderful.
As always, our dinner was excellent in every way. We had 2 gluten free diners in our party and the staff takes such care with each and every element of the meal. We love this restaurant - it's at the top of our list in Providence!
We were visiting from out of town and while looking for restaurants on OpenTable a couple of weeks ago, we saw this place and decided to book a table for this past weekend. It was the best decision we could have made. The meal was phenomenal. The food was very fresh, and you can tell a lot of effort went into the dishes. I had ordered the "Sunday Gravy" , expecting what one would typically get from an Italian restaurant, but was completely blown away when I first tasted it. This was the most authentic Sunday Gravy I had ever eaten outside of my family kitchen.
In addition to the amazing food, the wait staff were very friendly and informative.
Overall, I would 100% recommend this place to anybody who is looking for a genuinely good meal.
As usual, we were not disappointed! We enjoy Pane e Vino and would always recommend for a night out or any occasion!
Great dinner veal chop was great! Bread pudding was best I ever had!
Maybe the waitress was having a bad night- she did not smile much, literally came over and said let me tell you the specials and then walked off. I was surprised as I had not had bad service in the past.
The most memorable restaurant experience I have had in awhile. Food was excellent, our server very professional. Most importanr was the atmosphere and the ability to hear my fellow diners. Hope to return soon.
Consistently great food and service. My new go to restaurant on The Hill for the past year.
