Expected the menu to more reflect Mykonos in Rockville. My friend and I are adventurous eaters but were very disappointed in the menu and ended up sharing three small plates. The service was lackadaisical

I had hoped for a version of Mykonos in Rockville. This is a different restaurant entirely. Not much Greek food. Entrees are $50 and steaks are $70 and up. Easily 300 for two people all-in. At that price point, excellence is important. I had the lamb chops. They were good and ample - but simple and largely unseasoned over simple vegetables. My drink was great. The service was excellent and the restaurant is generally well decorated. The restaurant is very small, so it is very crowded with tables - such that people can hardly get through the aisles. It’s strange to be so close to other people in a restaurant at this price point. The noise level is loud. A strange quality-price point leaves me a bit confused about a return trip.

The food and ambience were great, but the service was ok. It took a long time to get drinks from the bar and our meals were served without any utensils. We had to wait a while for the server to bring utensils.

I have eaten at Mykonos Grill in Rockville for decades and always loved it. This new restaurant, with a much more upscale menu, is still finding its way. The food I had for lunch (two mezza plates - one with crab and one breaded zuccini and eggplant) was only so-so. My friends had the sandwiches, one chicken and one beef and said they were "okay." It's possible we didn't pick well - it's a big menu; however, some of it is too pricey for lunch. Our server was lovely, BUT we waited a very long time for our food. In all, we were a bit disappointed, given our love for the original grill. I hope they get their act together, both in the food area and the service. We plan to come back with a larger group, so will report back if our second visit is better.

We go to the Myknos Grill in Rockville regularly and we love it. The food at this new location is excellent. But the prices are way out of an appropriate range. Maybe their rent at the new location is too high. One example: at the original location we always get a bread basket and delicious oil, for free. Here the bread basket is a whopping $16. Most main dishes are in the high 40's to start. It's just way too expensive. Unless the prices come down, we don't intend to repeat the experience. We will of course continue to patronize the original, which we like a lot.
