Here at Shokunin we serve traditional omakase styled courses. Omakase is a Japanese phrase that means "I'll leave it up to you”. The chef chooses the fresh fish selection daily and garnishes it into a 11 or 13 course meal. Our mission is to deliver a fine dining experience in a casual environment all at an affordable price. As a disclaimer, we do not sell any kitchen items, such as teriyaki bowls.

We went for our anniversary and were blown away! This is the best sushi experience we’ve ever had. Everything was delicious and perfectly balanced. Such delicate flavors. We will definitely be back! And thank you so much to the anonymous person that paid for our meal. That was such an unexpected surprise and we are very grateful!

Our experience at Shokunin was an unexpected delight. The quality of the sushi was outstanding—easily the best we’ve had in the area. My husband and I opted for the premium omakase, and Chef Tony truly exceeded our expectations. Each course was thoughtfully prepared and executed with precision; every bite was a perfect balance of flavor and texture. We’ll definitely be returning for more.

Fish were fresh, and the bluefin tuna was delicious I got omakase 10 pieces. I respect their creativity and meticulous work. I also love how they held the rice, not too tightly. However, many of the pieces served had too many added flavors and oil. Chilli oil (a Chinese condiment) is especially overwhelmed by the flavor of the fresh fish. So if you are a real suchi snob who enjoys white fish with no fat prepared between kombu overnight, you may want to order individual pieces rather than omakase. I am thrilled there is now a sushi place we can enjoy real fish in Redlands, not the frozen tuna, bleached and colored with red dye

The chefs here know what they’re doing — every cut of fish is clean, fresh, and paired with just the right amount of rice. It’s one of those no-fail, go-to sushi spots. Pro tip: if you order the Omakase, buckle up. It’s an absolute treat from start to finish — flawless, fun, and totally worth it.

Shokunin takes sushi to a higher level. I ordered a 10-piece variety, Each piece was bursting with flavor of not only fresh fish but also added ingredients that magnified the flavor profile. Our sushi chef explained each offering and brought our items in a timely manner. The atmosphere is very nice, featuring a bar with Japanese objects of art on the walls. Although there is no table service, seating at the bar was comfortable.

My wife and I found this small, quiet sushi spot yesterday—one of the best we’ve had! Chef Alex was amazing, and we also met Mo (hope we’re spelling that right!). Super fresh fish, great service, and a relaxed vibe. We’ll definitely be back soon!

We’ve been waiting a while for this experience. Getting there is fun and presents a couple of unique photo opportunities Down the spiral stairs and through the secret door we went…. We were greeted and seated immediately and treated to the chef’s menu. Tony, our chef served us 13 bite-size offerings and honestly, I can’t tell you which one was my favorite. Perfectly blended sauces enhanced the flavors of each of the pieces of sashimi-no soy sauce necessary. The hand roll was absolutely the best I’ve had. It’s small so definitely make reservations. Now that we’ve had a chance to taste around the menu we will definitely be back. Looking forward to the new cocktails that are being added to the menu.
