   My husband and I were very pleased with the whole dining experience, from the spacious ambience to the friendly courteous staff to the delicious meal (so many interesting flavors in my roasted eggplant, and his excellent shortribs). We even had a fun conversation with the couple at the adjoining table. The prices were comparable to those at other Sonoma restaurants. We plan to return.

   Good meal, large portions, easily sharable, excellent service. We found the menu limited and the food generally needed salt, but for a new restaurant, they are doing well and I will definitely return.

   We thought we'd try it out and loved it. The decor is great and the ambience was perfect, enough noise to provide privacy but no need to yell. Service was good and attentive. The food was great, started with brie and sourdough bread, we loved the pistachio and honey on the brie.We moved on to farmhouse pizza and branzino. The pizza was delicious, dough was thin and perfectly baked. The branzino was cooked well, the whipped potatoes and the accompanying salsa matched it perfectly. We added a side of asparagus which came grilled with a lemon dressing, it was mouth watering! Because it was out first visit we had to try a dessert (any excuse right?) and the pannacotta w as smooth and creamy. All was great value too.

   They did a nice job creating a beautiful fun restaurant. Beet salad to die for, we had linguine n clams. Pasta was tough but the sauce & 5 clams were great. Jesus was an excellent waiter

   A mixed experience. Service good. Ambience questionable for a higher level dining experience: dining tables opposite long bar table with 2 humongous video screens broadcasting sports events, suggesting they are not clear as to their identity: sports bar or quieter dining. No menu on web site, so choices at table. We shared a mussels appetizer, which was excellent, and a restaurant "citrus gem "salad, which had a fresh and tasty butter lettuce base , but a described accompaniment of avocado and blood orange was in actuality only a tracing fragment of the former and and a small scribbling of the latter. The branzino was ample, appealing and well prepared, with a compatible pureed potato base. The entree that unsettled us was the squid ink linquini with shellfish, which emerged as a globby mixture with too much muddled sauce of a pesto base, overwhelming an assortment of shellfish and a rubbery over-cooked pasta. Certainly not something a chef should release from the kitchen. We wish to support new commitments to higher cuisine in Sonoma, but will probably wait to return until after positive reports from friends.

   The Farmhouse has given Sonoma an amazing venue, but the menu does not distinguish itself on a par with the new decor/vibe. The waffle was dense and heavy, the BLT bread was uninteresting and skimpy on the bacon. Menu options were described as "Brunch Favorites" so expectations were HIGH, but uninspired. There is so much potential here--seating was comfortable, a very welcoming space, nice cloth napkins, plenty of staff, but food should be the STAR!

   Farmhouse is a new restaurant in Sonoma and overall is very good. They are still adjusting to the volumes of guests and the right amount of service people. In all fairness, it was Mother's Day and they were overwhelmed. The food was very very good but the service slow. The kitchen needed some help. However, the staff was exceptionally nice and checked in to be sure we had everything. We did have to ask for refills on coffee several times but I think this restaurant will be a great addition to our Sonoma Valley.

    The best part about Farmhouse Sonoma is the transformation from the previous shuttered restaurant to the welcoming atmosphere of Farmhouse dining. We had a wonderful server and very friendly staff but there were off moments of waiting too long for food and timing. Most disappointing is the food is average and lacking flavor. We had a beet salad w/absolutely no taste. Branzino was smothered & submerged in a sea of mashed potatoes, difficult to eat turned upside down w/crisp skin face up. Chicken was served almost same way & only a butterflied breast. The dessert meyer lemon panna cotta was delicious. We hope the newly opened restaurant will succeed and fine tune their issues. New restaurants are a welcome sight in Sonoma!
