    So good that we went back two nights later. Original Italian cooking. Excellent seafood pasta and branzino.

    I’ll start by saying the service was great from start to finish. The food however was all objectively bad: Starting with the loaf of Publix bread they bring to your table, followed by an oddly warm octopus and potato salad that was absolutely saturated with green and black olives and capers. We had two pasta’s afterward that were poor as well.

    Genuine Italian food! Hallelujah! We have been hunting for this since 2003. Better by far than some of the more upscale Italian restaurants in downtown St Petersburg. Best octopus ever. Melt-in-your-mouth potato gnocchi. Attentive service. Fussy about our Italian, having lived in Chicago's Little Italy.

    This was one of the only places that we were able to get for Mother's Day. I'm glad we found this gem. La Doce Vita Trattoria had great ambiance, was very clean and felt like an authentic Italian restaurant. The food was a nice portion and had excellent flavor. I'd say the highlight was connecting with our lovely waitress who shared her recommendations for when we visit Italy in the summer. She really made us feel special on this Mother's Day. We can't wait to come back. Don't skip post La Doce Vita.

    This place was fantastic! Only open a few weeks - the food was amazing! The restaurant is very pretty & the staff make you feel like you're eating in Italy. Pietro, our server, was friendly & very attentive. There were six of us & everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the veal saltimbucca - one of the best I've had. The calamari & shrimp appetizer was delicious. Luigi the chef came out & greeted us after the meal & to see how everything was. We do not live in the area but will definitely return when we come back to St. Pete Beach. Highly recommend the locals try it!!
