I grew up in Stuart and when I visit I always like to try out the new restaurants; the menu looked appealing, so I took my mother and girlfriend here last weekend for a belated Mother’s Day brunch. I ordered the Pork Belly Benedict, but also sampled everyone else’s brunch. Here’s what we ordered: Crack sandwich - By far the best dish out of the three we ordered! The candied bacon and the herb potatoes were fantastic. I highly recommend! Pork Belly Benedict - The pork belly and hollandaise did not provide much flavor, and so the flavor of the salsa matcha (a thin, spicy chili sauce) dominated the dish. The waffle was rather dense but probably the best thing on the plate. Not what I was expecting, but not bad either. Crab Benedict - Aside from the tomatoes and lettuce, this dish was inedible (and unfortunately it was what my mother ordered). A hard-poached egg was requested but an oily and very overcooked fried egg was what we received (See photo), the “everything seasoned whole avocado” was liquefied for some reason, and the “fresh jumbo lump crab” was a fishy, dense, deep-fried crab meatball that made an otherwise light dish unnecessarily heavy. Not good. The service was slow, even though they didn’t seem busy and we arrived right when they opened for brunch at 11am, and our server was nowhere to be found on several occasions and never brought the ketchup my girlfriend asked for for her potatoes. I regret not saying anything about the Crab Benedict and the ketchup, but at the time we all just wanted to leave. This place certainly has potential; I’m hoping we just ordered the wrong dishes and the execution and quality of service will improve over time.

Food was delicious and amazing!! Only downside to the experience was our waitress not following up once the food arrived. Not a “how’s the food” or “can I get you another drink”. Once we were done eating it’s when she came to ask if we were done or wanted dessert.

Dinner was amazing. Really appreciated that chef accommodating a special request on the preparation of my meal. They really did a nice job making it special for my partners birthday with an incredible desert. The band was fantastic.

Pez Vela - Stylish Spot with Great Service and Fresh, Creative Fare We recently tried Pez Vela and were impressed by the beautiful ambiance—thoughtful decor, stylish touches, and a patio that feels inviting and relaxed. The service was truly top-notch, attentive without being overbearing. The food is clearly high-quality: fresh ingredients, beautifully plated, and creative combinations that reflect both sushi and Latin/South American influences. While we appreciate innovative cuisine and love both sushi and Latin flavors, we found that some of the flavor profiles didn’t quite align with our personal palate. That said, it’s absolutely worth trying for yourself—especially if you’re looking for something a little different and adventurous. We’re glad we went and enjoyed the experience.
