My NY Strip was tough as nails!
Fantastic Service, Fantastic Food, Beautiful Lighting, Nice Quiet Music, Plan to Stay for a 3 Course Meal at Least its Worth your Time
A lovely experience all around!!! Hope to come back the next time I am in Nashville!
Food was not good, service uninspiring. Can do much better for the price. Several years ago this was an outstanding restaurant. It no longer belongs in that category.
This was a place that I have been dying to eat at. Also, you will want to have a photoshoot in the bathrooms.
I was disappointed with our service. Our waitress was polite but short. Felt like a burden. It was my first time there and I did not know the menu. Service was rushed. Our main course came out immediately after our starters. The table was still full with food and was awkward to personally shuffle things around to create space on the table and engage in conversation with my guests. It was my birthday dinner. I wanted a no hassle, relaxing evening with my friends and just didn’t the quality experience I would expect from an establishment like this
Don’t get me wrong, the food was amazing!
Made a note on opentable that we were visiting for our anniversary and requested a booth. They honored our request and offered a cheese tray as an unexpected bonus. The food and service were excellent, as expected for this price point. They have an open kitchen, so it can be a bit noisy downstairs. This is apparently a popular restaurant for bachelorette parties and office events (both were happening the night of our visit), so there’s always the potential for having to deal with that . If you’re looking for a intimate date spot Sinema can fit the bill if you can secure a booth as we did, but seems mostly geared toward groups. 2 cocktails each, two entrees, and a shared appetizer came out to about $180 after 20% tip.
Good food and good service.
We arrived at the end of the brunch...much of the food was gone and needed restocking...the drinks were not very strong and our server acted irritated when we asked for another drink, and another...parts of the food buffet were very good, others very average.
My husband and I brunched here on Sunday. It was the most romantic brunch ever! From the ambiance to the food, everything is A1!
We were somewhat disappointed with the quality of the food and the bottomless bloody Mary’s were nice but the refill arrived slowly. Service was friendly although it felt a little haphazard.
Love the fact they saved an old movie theater and made a good restaurant with the old movie stars pictures as decor. Our service was very good but drinks came out very slow. This was my third time and I have had the buffet which is fun and adventurous twice. My party and I ordered from the menu on this visit and were not disappointed. Will certainly visit again.
Lots of options for brunch. Nicely set up of various buffets. Friendly service.
This was the first time I had ever been to Sinema. The food was excellent, but took 50 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we started eating. Highly recommend the cocktails.
Everything was excellent about this restaurant! From the appetizers to the wine to the entrees and dessert, service was excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Had the ravioli appetizer, the avocado salad, and the scallop entree, all were absolutely amazing. Server was outstanding (long hair with blue at the ends, sorry love I cannot remember your name!) As an LSU girl, they made a specialty cocktail for me named a "Baton Rouge-y" that was fantastic. Haven't been here in a couple of years and now I can't wait to go back.
Excellent ambiance... poor food choices for dinner, excellent brunch
Made reservations well in advance. Specified Gluten-Free due to my wife's Celiac Disease and we were very surprised when before dinner the Chef came to our table and talked my wife through the Menu. That was incredible. His food was excellent, and we really enjoyed the food aspect.
However, the service was very poor. They seemed understaffed. I ordered a cocktail with my starter and that was good and ordered a cocktail with my entree. It showed up after we had eaten - more than 30 minutes after ordering. I could not remind staff as wait staff just disappeared most the evening. I did refuse the cocktail as it was to be with dinner.
A manager came to our table to apologize, which was nice, BUT - he put the ball in my court asking how they could make it right. I feel he should have offered something instead of making me say how they could make it right - I am not the type of customer to be demanding.
I would still recommend the place, but hope service improves drastically. For the price better treatment is certainly expected. Still tipped about 20% as our waitress seemed harried and was training someone.
Fantastic first experience. We will definitely be back
I celebrated my birthday with friends and family at Sinema. They were very accommodating and attentive to our party of 8. I will most definitely recommend to others and I will return for Sunday brunch.
The mimosas were mostly juice
We (party of 4) were immediately seated when we arrived. Service throughout the meal was excellent and evenly paced. Starters were good but portion sizes were small for sharing. Entrees were above average and portion sizes were appropriate. We had the Branzino and Fettuccine. All presentations were excellent. Desserts were good but small also. Overall experience was good and would recommend Sinema as a good place to eat. Noise level was reasonable for conversation.
This was our first time to Sinema, but we had heard good things about the restaurant. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We order a meat and cheese board as an app. Unfortunately, the meat board came out about ten minutes before the cheese board did. This meant we were already into the meat board as some of the meats were warm and we didn't want them to get cold waiting for the cheese. Our waiter was apologetic as a runner had brought out the board separately. With both boards there, it was the best part of the evening. My partner and I both order the lamb stroganoff. For the price we expected to see way more lamb on the plate. It honestly was as if they had made a pulled lamb and we received bits of string. We have to say that it was very disappointing. The cream sauce was delicious as was the purple sweet potato gnocchi. The dish ran very soft even though they added what I believe was kale (with stems) for some crunch. It definitely wasn't worth the price and we regretted not getting something else.
Overall, there were some hiccups but the wait service was the highlight of the night. I don't know if we will return, but if we do we will have to ask more questions about the dishes we are ordering.
Overall it just didn’t live up to our expectations. Not a great menu to choose from and over priced. And also strange seating options where you over head your neighbors greatly.
Not a great value for your $. Very pricy for not great quality.
The food was amazing, had cheese board, scallops, short rib and chicken!
However we ordered a bottle of white wine that came out not chilled at all.
When we mentioned that we were told the bartender sent it out knowing that bc they hadn’t been in the cooler. We much rather would have had the bartender to server tell us there were no chilled bottles of that particular wine bottle so we could have ordered a different one. I mean for $75 bottle of wine, I’d expect it to be served correctly.
It was our anniversary dinner. Our waiter was very good and made us feel special. We would highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions but it is a bit pricey for every day meals.
An excellent Sunday brunch. Fresh fruit was incredible. I don't do grits, but my Nashville friend loved them. I wish this place wasn't hundreds of mile from my home.
I recommend using the valet parking. I didn't, which was a mistake.
So I choose Sinema for my husbands 40th Birthday celebration with friends and while the place was beautiful the food was not so great. We eat at a lot of nice restaurants across the country and this was subpar food. I was expecting the price $170 for dinner and wine (for 2) and I don’t mind paying that for a great meal but it was totally not worth the price. My whipped potatoes were on the cold side of warm and my steak was so tough and tatseless. And our servicer was kind of a jerk with a cocky/better than attitude about everything. I wouldn’t recommend to a friend.
Their brunch menu is ok. It is just simple breakfast food. Nothing to write home about. But if you are going for a fun time with a great deal on mimosas or bloody Mary’s, then this is your spot. The brunch menu is way over priced for what you get though.
Wonderful dinner atmosphere. Very good dinner and drinks.
Service was slow on this visit and my steak was undercooked. First time there about 6 months ago was much better. Will try again. Cheese plate was good.
Seated on point. Food was good and my party enjoyed it. Ok service.
Wonderful dining experience in an environment conducive for quiet conversations.
Pretty restaurant, very marginal food and service but the bottomless mimosas were good.
Everything was very good, just didn't feel it was worth the money...a little on the high side
Disorganized staff. Greet food
This was our first time dining here and overall it was very good. The restaurant is housed in a converted theater, so it has a very cool vibe. Wine and cocktail selection is good, but a bit on the pricey side though in keeping with most other restaurants in the city -- $12-$15 for a glass of wine or a cocktail seems to be the going rate these days. We were seated in the downstairs dining room -- not sure if the upstairs is just a bar/lounge but saw plenty of people going upstairs. Service was excellent -- our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the halibut ceviche appetizer and the avocado arugula salad -- both were very good. Our only complaint was that the portions were really tiny, especially the salad, which was really just a few bites. For entrees (myself, my husband and son) we chose the swordfish, scallops and truffle fettucine. My husband had the swordfish and said it was cooked perfectly and a reasonable amount. I always worry about scallops since it is usually a very small choice and this was definitely the case -- 3 small scallops on a bed of orzo with fried capers -- again, it was well-prepared but more like an appetizer portion. My son had the fettucine, which he said was quite good but another smallish dish. If you don't mind spending a lot of money for a small amount of food, then you are in luck. For reference, none of us are big eaters. We skipped dessert so I can't speak to that. Probably won't return unless somebody else is picking up the tab.
Sinema is so cool! The server was so fun and sweet, the food was really good, and the whole ambiance was unique and enjoyable. We plan to go back in a few months, and I would highly recommend to others to try it out for brunch!
Our server Mike was awesome. He was able to make great suggestions across the whole menu. He had plenty of stories to tell that were very entertaining. The food that my wife and I had selected was phenomenal. We had a very quiet table upstairs that felt like we were all alone. I'm very happy that I was able to find a restaurant in Nashville that I would look forward to going back to eat at whenever we would be in town.
