I accidentally and thankfully fumbled on this restaurant while looking through an event site for something to do in Nashville. I had never heard of it. Read the reviews and grabbed a resy. We sat at the shabu bar just to watch the kitchen work while eating. Truly some of the best bites I’ve ever put in my mouth. I don’t like mushrooms, but the drunken ones on this menu are f*ckin delicious. We also had the ahi toast, cukes, the ramen, broccolini, bok choy, and the unagi crispy rice. The portions are too big for tapas so the value is wild. Extremely efficient for the freshness of the food. Ready to go again. Absolutely scrumptious. And Logan, our server, was over attentive which was really nice.

Not a bad bite was had! The dishes were unique and delicious. The service was great, friendly and attentive. The vibes are decor were spot on. Don’t sleep on this spot!

We ordered half the menu and everything we ordered was fantastic. Cocktails were excellent too. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back next time I’m in Nashville!

Don’t sleep on Kosho!! This is my second visit. Chef Nick continues to be creative and consistent, and it’s hard to pick a favorite bite. The service is solid and Karson is the kindest.

Last night at “Kosho by Tabu.” Your GPS might question your taste, but your palate will be thanking you. This Tokyo-meets-art-deco Japanese joint did not disappoint! First off, we were greeted by lovely staff, who whisked us off to the bar area, with its plush banquette seating. The cocktail list gets high respect. At an average of $15, the mixology is right on track, with exotic unpronounceables that take you to foreign shores. The saké list is nicely curated and also well-priced. We started with the cucumber sunomono. So fresh and delicious that you feel sad for all the other cucumbers that didn’t get invited. It was also the perfect foil for the spicy tuna don, a delicious combination of yellowfin, nori, and vinegar rice, which layered flavor, umami, and heat and made me wonder if I ever need to eat sushi again. Next up were the broccolini and the shrimp po bao, the latter being a must-try: a crunchy, pillowy, creative chaos of well-balanced flavors. The salmon yakitori was also yummy, with a miso drizzle! 😋 The dessert options sounded impressive, but we were too full after our sumptuous smorgasbord and our renewed belief in the power of fermented rice.

Every time it’s been a fantastic experience staff remembers us and I just can’t recommend enough! The food is fantastic. Service is fantastic and as a restaurant that’s been operating for a few months now and that I went both when they opened and recently and still got the same type of service and quality of food is a huge win in Nashville. Love, love, love Kosho!
