    Our dinner at Lotus was probably the best Chinese food we have had on Long Island in over 10 years. We have been to Lotus many times in the past and always enjoyed it but had not been back since the fire. We ordered basic dishes (hot and sour soup, fried dumplings, double cooked pork and beef chow fun) and each dish excelled in quality of ingredients and preparation. So much of the Chinese food on Long Island is disappointing and Lotus was a very pleasant surprise. Can’t wait to go back again.

    Very long time to receive appetizers and drinks (30 min). When different server brought it out, Just put down. Dumplings were lukewarm. Asked about other app and was told it takes longer to prepare. No apology and explanation was ludicrous. Other tables had better cadence of food, even those that sat after us. Overall rest of food was good but other places are more aware of their customers.

    I love that they have a gluten free menu. Also there gluten free shrimp dumplings are so light and delicious. You can’t tell they are gluten free. I ordered a sushi roll off the regular menu and both the waiter and I thought that everything was good for me to eat. But when the waiter brought the food to the table he had said that the waiter staff saw the note gluten free and adjusted my roll because there was gluten in it. How fantastic was the kitchen staff!!

    We went on Morhers Day. It was packed. But with our reservation, we were seated right away. The food was great as usual! Love it there.

    Food and service were both excellent. Only issue was the loudness of the restaurant. Very difficult to hear and carry on a conversation. Would have been 5 stars otherwise but given the noise level we might stick to take out only with this restaurant
