Service was atrocious. Was comp’d a dessert when they ran out of rice and peas and they served me white rice. When I informed the server that this was the first time I’ve ever had warm cheesecake I was dismissed by him saying “well it was comp’d so you don’t have to worry about it”. Server also had to be tracked down for additional water, issues with the food and the check.

We arrived with hungry appetites, eager to experience this Afro Caribbean new restaurant. we were greeted by a pleasant, attractive host who directed us via the spiral staircase to the second floor of this brownstone. It was bright and airy with lots of artwork reflecting its Afro Caribbean heritage. It was 1:45 in the afternoon and our taste buds were ready for some ackee and saltfish egg rolls, foo foo rice, and even some oxtails . We were very disappointed that the brunch menu didn’t offer any of these! It was a pre-Mother’s Day celebration with my sisters and niece and man were we hungry! From the limited brunch menu I selected the King prawns with grits which essentially were three prawns and five prawn heads buried in a sea of grits! One of my sisters ordered the Caesar salad with chicken as the protein …we had to really search to find the chicken. Another one ordered the steak and eggs, which was pretty decent …no complaints here . My niece ordered the truffle aioli burger which was slightly overcooked, but okay. Our next order was the shark sandwich which should have served as an appetizer because my sister had to order fries with it to make it a meal...by the way, the fries were the best part of the menu . We traveled as far away as New Jersey to try this new restaurant only to be very disappointed with the offerings. I’m hoping the dinner menu offered more variety and selections .

The seafood dishes - specifically the mango curry soft shell crab and fried whole snapper lacked flavor which was disappointing and felt like it was tailored to a certain demographic instead of being true to its roots.

The service and decor was great but the seating was too tight. The drinks were great and the food was ok.

Highly recommend here for a date night or nice group dinner. It’s a great ambience and the food was great. I will say that the sides were just okay, but the curry goat puff pastry is something i’m still dreaming about

The staff and team made me and my friends feel so welcome. All bartenders (Ja, J, and Bas) were simply the best. Our waiter, Michael, was very helpful, informed us about all the food, and was full of humor. The chef was very kind and spoke to our table as we complemented his DELICIOUS Rasta Pasta.
