Byrdie's food was excellent and the service was superb. I could certainly taste and feel the Michelin Chicago experience in this Louisville dining experience, and at a very reasonable cost. Well done!

We were a little bit disappointed with the food. Very expensive for what you are getting. The cocktails were good. Service was ok but not the kind you are expecting when paying $26 for an app and an average of $60 for an entree.

This was our 1st time at Byrdie's but I'm thinking it will not be our last. Our waitress was excellent in answering any questions we had about the menu or drink selection. And, don't forget to ask where the name "Byrdie's" comes from. Drink selection is not large but the mixed drink my date had was delightful and the red wine the waitress helped me select was excellent. We split a very refreshing salad and both ordered the vegetarian dish. Flavors were wonderful with the pesto sauce and very rich. And.....don't forget desert. Limited choice but we chose one with a custard lemon meringue and the flavors were wonderful!

Went here with friends after an event downtown, excited about having a good French meal. French onion soup was extremely sweet and didn’t detect much onion flavor. Bread in the soup was a heavy mess. Friend ordered the Pithiver which was supposed to be 48 hour short ribs. Whatever is was tasted awful. To me it tasted like the meat had turned. And what was sausage doing in the dish? Fries were just lukewarm and the server replaced the order with hot ones but they were pretty tasteless and the lemon sauce was a miss. Nice aioli would have helped. Wife’s salmon and other friend’s trout were reported as good. Server was fine but kitchen service extremely slow on a not particularly busy evening. Noise level made it difficult to have a conversation. And what’s up with the duck at $144 and ribeye at $128. I’ve been to some of the finest restaurants in the world and not paid that much. And this is not a fine dining restaurant in my estimation. There was simply nothing about this experience that was positive. We won’t return nor will we recommend this place to others. Lest you think I just like to complain I just gave an over the top rating to another restaurant in town where everything was perfect.

The higher price on the Duck and Cote dishes that you mentioned are because these are large format items meant to serve at least two folks. While we are certainly not a fine dining restaurant, we do hope to provide both excellent service and an enjoyable meal to all of our guests. We went for our anniversary dinner and they had a note and treat for us wishing us a happy anniversary! The service and food were all good and they had a good selection of cocktails. The dessert and coffee were a great end to our dinner and all the food was delicious!
