Chef Teiichi Sakurai, well-known as the founder of Teppo (1995) and Tei Tei (1998), opened Tei-An in 2008 at One Arts Plaza. Chef Sakurai continues the pursuit of introducing authentic Japanese culinary culture to Dallas through ancient techniques and years of mastering the fragile and sophisticated soba noodle.
Called "The crown jewel of Japanese dining in Dallas" by former Dallas Morning News restaurant critic Leslie Brenner, Tei-An continues to induct diners into the art of dining at a traditional, yet modern, Japanese soba noodle house.

Del equipo editorial de OpenTable: Tokyo-born chef Teiichi Sakurai helped introduce Japanese food and culture to Dallas starting in the '90s before opening this celebrated soba house in 2008. The intimate omakase counter surrounds a rock garden at the center, creating a shrine-like, very-Tokyo atmosphere for wagyu, sashimi, and other traditional Japanese fare. One thing's for sure: every meal from this six-time James Beard semifinalist must end with soba.

    We had a wonderful experience at Tei-An for my wife’s birthday. We ordered the Premium Omakase and had some of the best sashimi, beef, tempura, etc… that we’ve ever tasted. We accompanied it with a sake pairing as well. The sake sommelier, in particular, really made the evening extra special.

    Extremely good food. Service felt like we were only table in a full restaurant. I can’t say enough about the food and service quality. Definitely recommend!!

    Tei-An never disappoints! Food is amazing. Fish is flown in from Japan daily and never sits in restaurant more than 20 hours. I had a bourbon on a big rock in which I learned they even ship in their clear ice from Japan and then chip away a piece for the glass. Impressive!

    Our server was great! It was my brothers first experience at TeiAn and you all did not disappoint! Food was amazing!

    Always good, had 3 shared plates between the two of us before show. Loved the sashimi salad, potato chip shrimp and the Japanese eggplant. Disappointed the only Chardonnay was $28 per glass and the cheapest bottle of wine was $120. We have been coming here for a long time. Food quality has not changed, prices, maybe.

    We went for the pre-theatre omakase before heading over to Winspear for a concert. We were seated immediately, with provisions made for my spouse who is currently in a wheelchair. Even though this is a relatively fast omakase, as it is designed to allow you to finish and make an 8PM performance, we did not feel rushed at all. The service was quick, friendly, and professional. The good was absolutely delicious! We were very impressed by the variety of dishes we were served. We will definitely return and bring friends. Highly recommended!

    Celebrating our anniversary and we wanted to sit across from each other and talk. But they couldn’t accommodate us. They made us sit in this big U shaped area side by side. Not very romantic. Too loud.
