   I absolutely love it here! Everyone is so welcoming and kind! You can tell they all really care about service, food, and giving each customer the best experience they can! Everything you eat will be the best thing you’ve ever had!!!

   This place exceeded every expectation—from the moment we walked in, the ambiance and music set the perfect tone for the evening. The chefs are true masters of their craft—personable, passionate, and precise in every detail. The quality of the sushi was nothing short of incredible, with the otoro being an absolute standout—rich, buttery, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor.

   The BEST handroll spot in Chicago. The ambiance is great. Hamachi poke is fantastic. Can’t go wrong with any handroll here.

   We were excited in February when we booked an April reservation for Noriko. We read the reviews which were mostly positive and commented that the occasional mediocre review must have been a novice since we thought that we could read between the lines and knew better. Now after having been to Noriko, we believe the mediocre reviews better reflected our experience. Although the room itself has a tangible vibe and we were excited for the experience to begin, we felt the overall food and service wasn’t consistent. We now understood what other reviews meant when they stated that something was off. I: What we liked were: •The freshness of the ingredients, especially the Blue Fin Tuna and Uni. •Friendliness of the staff •Room Design II: What we didn’t like were: A: The wait to get in: We arrived 10 minutes early for our 5PM seating since many reviews mentioned being rushed. Unfortunately, the restaurant does not unlock the doors until exactly 5PM and the location offers no nearby place to “hang”. It would have been nice if they opened early for cocktails rather than wait outside in the weather without any cover. B: Drinks removed before finished One reviewer mentioned having drinks removed before they were finished. This didn’t seem real, but it happened to us as well. C: Components/ Construction of Hand Rolls We would recommend cutting the rice in half and upping the fish content by 20%. D: Omakase … ish To be fair Noriko does not advertise themselves as being “omakase”, however the design is most definitely inspired by “omakase” styled restaurants. Although the chefs were standing directly in front of us as they made our dishes, not once did we see any of the ingredients being compiled other than the rice. It would have been nice to see the fish prep as the rolls were constructed. In conclusion Noriko is worth a visit. The “Bluefin Tuna Toro” & “Uni” stole the show but the “Bay Scallop Dynamite” was terrible and the "Wagyu Tataki" was a disappointment.

   Got a reservation for two by luck because it was booked up until June. Overall, it was a beautiful and enjoyable experience. With just bar sitting, it feels exclusive and inviting at the same time. servers Lily and Penny were excellent and welcoming. Chef’s Ron and Chris served up tasty hand rolls and some laughs. The edamame hummus and seaweed salad as starters are a must. As for the hand rolls, all were delicious which we tried five deciding to do one of the sets. Although the cocktail menu was limited, the drinks they had were delicious (Hatcha Matcha being my favorite). I would recommend this place to anyone and I’m looking forward to returning in the future
