We sat outside with live music playing. Great weather in Tahoe! Great place for dinner before going to a concert.

We split the Sirlion and grilled shrimp and Wedge salad. ..both were very good. The highlight was their Jumbo Shrimp coctail.One of the best I've had since the early 70's at the Golden Gate in Las Vegas.

Food was good. It’s a little expensive for the dining experience. Like an upscale diner. The decor is fun and interesting!

Atmosphere excellent, my wife and I were excited and looking forward having a nice steak house dinner experience at the newly branded Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino. We loved the atmosphere of the Saltgrass Steak House, inside was nicely decorated, outdoor patio had fire pits, live music and lots of seating. For dinner, my wife wanted lobster, they only way to order lobster was with an add-on when you order a steak dinner. So I ordered a Ribeye Steak with lobster. We both ordered dinner salads to start, those were excellent and cold. We added sautéed mushrooms, mash potatoes as sides with our dinners. Mushrooms were nice and hot in melted butter, mash potato’s were nice and thick, the way I like mash potato’s. Now for the entrees, Ribeye Steak, not cheap, it showed up with two small dollops of butter on top of the steak. The butter wasn’t melting on my steak so I cut a small piece of steak to taste it. Flavor was good, had a nice char flavor and was cook exactly how I ordered it - medium rare. The bad, the stack was barely warm, almost cold, reason why the butter wasn’t melting. The lobster, even worse, it was extremely salty making it very hard to eat. The flavor, maybe why it was so salty was to help mask the not so fresh lobster flavor, it was fishy tasting. So between the salt and not so fresh lobster flavor, we were disappointed. I gave the Saltgrass Steak House a generous FAIR rating, maybe being somewhat new they are still working out the kinks. I will give the Saltgrass another try in the future, but probably will hold back on the high end dishes and go with a burger which looked pretty good.

Our initial wait of ~10 minutes was no big deal. That said, some front-of-the -house conversations would best be made out of ear-shot to waiting customers. Once we were seated, everything was back on track and the meal was excellent. I do wish the cocktail menu would show costs. This seems to be a new trend in restaurants but it is off-putting to customers. There is a big difference between a $10 cocktail and one that’s $20. I feel played when prices aren’t up front.

We had four people in our party and everyone was extremely happy with their steak dinners and all of the sides. All steaks were cooked to perfection and we were thrilled also with our wine choice and we will be back!

It was a very nice experience.The only downside was they have a limited menu during the day. And that wasn't advertised. We were only able to order from a list of sandwiches. We made reservations and drove from Reno. So it would have been nice to know before hand.
