   The food and the service were phenomenal!!! The sushi is definitely the best sushi in Sarasota. Steak was great, sides and wine were all fantastic. Only issue was the bugs were swarming over us during the meal. They need a bit larger fan outside on the downstairs patio area. But it’s outside…so it’s a bit tough to address that

   Everything on the menu is outstanding! Atmosphere is full of energy and the service is top notch. Secret obsession: ask for the truffle popcorn!

   Simply the best! We celebrated my husband’s birthday at a high top in the lounge area upstairs and Derek even had a birthday card on the table for him! From the moment you arrive the service is impeccable and our server Christina talked with enthusiasm about the menu. We ordered Prime roll with a shrimp twist, baked oysters, halibut special and warm butter cake for dessert which came complete with a candle! Everything was really delicious. The halibut special was sublime and should be a permanent fixture on the menu! We are delighted to finally have Ocean Prime in Sarasota!

   We’ve dined here before where we’ve had better service. The food was exquisite and the restaurant is such a pleasure to dine in. However, the wait staff needs improvement. If you’re striving to be a high end establishment, you need to hire professional wait staff. As they say, it’s in the details!

   Having had the opportunity to dine at a variety of high-end restaurants, I’ve developed a strong sense of appreciation for consistency and passion in both food and service. Today, I enjoyed an excellent culinary experience—but what truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by Amanda. Her approach was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely engaging. It was clear she wasn’t just doing a job—she was creating an experience. Her recommendations were spot-on, and the way she described each dish showed both knowledge and genuine care. This kind of service is rare and speaks volumes about her dedication. From the moment I walked in, every staff member displayed a positive and welcoming attitude.     Everything about Ocean Prime is excellent. Our meal took quite some time at least an hour from time we ordered. Although we had appetizers first it was an hour before our steaks and potato were served. Great views, awesome bartenders, and our server!
