Although our server was attentive and personable, we can’t say much for the rest of our experience at Cloud Puncher. 1. The kitchen was SLOW! We waited a long time between courses, and when they arrived they were overcooked (two of us ordered fish, and one ordered pork loin). 2. The whole idea of having an open window at the bar to service pool customers is a DISASTER. Think about it. Our tab for 3 (with a bottle of wine) was close to $350. Do you want flies swarming around your plate and drowning in your glass? So sorry, but we’re punched out on Cloud Puncher.

Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. We have loved trying all the places on OAK and we’re excited to give Cloud Puncher a go with nice menu options like venison. First the drinks from the bar were not great and the CP Sour was in drinkable. The appetizer we tried was the cornbread and wings. The cornbread and the butter served both had zero flavor. Not cooked bad, just truly had no flavor at all. The wings were the only saving part of the night, but even those could have used a sauce on the side. For entrees we were again extremely disappointed by them being out of the venison on a Saturday night, when we chose the restaurant based on that dish. What we ended up with was the steak and frites. Extremely good fries, but the steak was quite a bit overcooked. Our other dish was the redfish and it was cooked mostly well, but also a little overcooked and was served different than explained in the menu. A couple desserts sounded nice and the burgers that went by us looked tasty…but in the end we just asked for the check and left feeling quite let down.

The food was mediocre at best. They will upcharge you for any sides you change on your dish even if it’s less expensive. Example: Asparagus is $8, Grits are $6, but if you want to swap your asparagus for grits it’s a $6 up charge. So if you order the side of grits anyways without a swap, they still won’t bring you the vegetables it comes with unless you ask. By the way the grits were cold. Salmon was overcooked and had the skin on it. Music was very loud. Oh, and at the end of the night they flipped our cards and ran the wrong transaction on them. I would give zero stars. Beautiful restaurant though! Hope they figure it out!

Service from start to finish was wonderful. The server and manager checked on us multiple times throughout our experience. Food was prompt and delicious. The cowboy meatballs for an appetizer was a great place to start and absolutely have to try the campanelle!

We paid over $65 per person and when we arrived for the Mother's Day Brunch, the buffet was almost empty with only scraps remaining. The food that was left was not fresh. Originally, they said they wouldn't be restocking but they reevaluated and brought out a couple pans of fresh sides. We barely ate anything and were charged full price. Our server was very kind so nothing against her but will not be returning due to this. It was our third time and the previous experiences were much better.

Brunch menu was falsely advertised as something it wasn’t for Mothers Day. The poor wait staff had no idea what was going on, everyone in the restaurant was complaining. Definitely not the way to build the reputation of a new restaurant
