La Nouvelle is the next story in our culinary journey by Michael Lugo. This opportunity to bring French Nouveau cuisine to our city has us so excited. Bringing to the helm Matthieu Landillon from the coastal city of Marseille, La Nouvelle allows us to explore classic French Bistro fare with an elevated edge. The atmosphere will lead you to the streets of Paris without leaving St. Augustine.

    I loved again the experience of dining at La Nouvelle . It was my third time visiting this great restaurant,and the food, ambience, and service were outstanding!

    This may have been the best French food we have ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection and presented well. We lived in Upstate New York for decades and we were looking for a good French restaurant here, what we found was an EXCELLENT one! This is a delightful setting and the staff is incredible. If you try this restaurant, you will NOT be sorry. Thank you, to La Nouvelle, for the wonderful meal and excellent service. You made the evening special.

    We had the lobster bisque, filet au poivre , and the pork loin special. All were very good. Smallest cup of bisque we have ever had! Portions good on two meat selections. The menu selections were fairly limited and the prices were high for lunch. Wait staff was very accomodating.

    The food was excellent and ambiance was nice. Very disappointed with service. We asked if we could substitute fries for another side, willing to pay extra, as my girlfriend is not able to eat greasy food due to acid reflux, etc. and our waiter looked at us as if we committed a crime, made her feel extremely uncomfortable. The waiter looked annoyed, came back and said the could have only substitute bread. Could have been handled in a nicer way. Tainted the whole experience.

    Service was exceptional. My dinner came out cold. I didn’t bother to mention it as it was a birthday celebration for my husband.

    Food was delicious and wine and bubbly selections ample! Our server was very knowledgable on how the Cor’don Blue trained chef prepared his dishes to order! In addition, all staff were friendly and attentive! Great mgmt and standards! Next time we’ll dine on the outdoor wrap around veranda for another lovely experience! And the value was perfectly suited to the portion sizes! Leave room for dessert…we tried, but didn’t make it! 5 stars!!!

    Finally made it to this special French Bistro located in the historic Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine. We celebrated Father’s Day with an early dinner reservation, sitting outside on the wrap around porch after the thunderstorms subsided, ushering in a cool breeze. The ambiance, elevated service, and jazzy music made us feel like we were on a Parisian sidewalk. It was the perfect choice for our celebration. We gorged on delicious food, starting with some truffled deviled eggs and petite baguettes (served with salted butter… yum), followed by a beet terrine that was a work of art, and scrumptious escargot (served with that delicious baguette), and lobster bisque. The celebrated father chose the bouillabaisse and was in heaven! My son chose the lamb Marquez sausage and I enjoyed the traditional steak frites - prepared perfectly. All was complimented by a carefully selected Pommard Burgundy. The lengthy wine list is a superb selection of only French wines. This is really a gem of a restaurant and we can’t wait to return.
