We are ready to break ground on our next adventure! That’s right, Hudson Café is coming to TROY!

Founded in 2011, The Hudson Café was born in the heart of Detroit just before the city’s much-publicized revival began. Located on Woodward Avenue between Grand River and State St, our name is a nod to the iconic Hudson’s department store and Detroit’s heyday as a bustling, cosmopolitan city. We have been blessed ever since to watch the city progress and grow around us.

Our mission is simple: to celebrate the diverse, hustling, resilient city of Detroit and its people by consistently providing amazing food and a stellar experience. Our expansive menu has something for everyone--whether it’s our take on the famous Maurice salad that your grandparents remember from Hudson’s, a heaping stack of pancakes for the dessert-for-breakfast person in your life, or Mickey Mouse pancakes for the little ones--we’ve got you covered.

The service was great and everyone was kind. Reservation was ready on time. The latte was exceptional. I'll say, I am not often someone who orders a burger because they tend not to be my favorite, and unfortunately, this one was definitely not for me. I ordered the blueberry burger. There was not enough sauce to enjoy the blueberry flavor, the patty was so greasy, my bottom bun was basically denigrated imminently, and my crispy onions weren't crispy for long. I wished I tried something different, but I didn't feel there was a lot for me. I would like to give it another try, but hope for more menu options in the future.

I met a friend for breakfast and it was just great! It was so nice to be able to reserve a table in that popular spot, and we were seated immediately. Peyton was our waitress, and she was friendly and gave great service! We will be back, of course. (One critique: the Canadian bacon on the eggs Benedict was very skimpy. It would be much better with a full slice:)

Went for Father’s Day. Made a reservation and we were able to be seated right away. It was quite noisy but it was very full due to a special holiday, so it was expected. I enjoyed the food at Hudson’s and everyone in my party enjoyed their meal as well.

Found the food to be just ok. Had the Hudson salad and felt it didn’t really measure up to other local restaurants. It was presented in hunks of meat, lettuce & pickles but lacked any hard boiled egg. Had to be cut up before you could consume it. It was also more expensive than other restaurants. The noise level made it extremely difficult to converse even though there were only three of us seated at a relatively small table. In all likelihood won’t return in the future.

Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Everyone is very friendly and courteous. Five stars all around, except for the noise level. Ambiance feels more like a cafeteria because of the echos.

Rude staff from the moment I walked in. Wasn’t acknowledged no one looked in my face when speaking to me. We all know the demographic of workers at this location and what demographic I am based on the treatment. Steer clear of this place if you are a poc or black woman.
