OLIO E PIÙ brings Italian tradition and true sense of Mediterranean liveliness to the vibrant neighborhood in Chicago.

As an authentic trattoria, its cuisine is based on classic Italian dishes. As you dine at OLIO E PIÙ, you’ll be transported not just by the flavors of Italy but also by the authentic atmosphere that surrounds you. It’s a place where time slows down, and conversations flow freely, just as they do in a true Italian household. Here, the spirit of 1970s Italian elegance lives on, and every meal is a celebration of life, love, and the joy of shared moments, especially with the open kitchen concept.

OLIO E PIÙ is more than just a restaurant; it’s a portal to a different time and place, where the essence of Italy’s rich culinary and cultural heritage is captured in every detail.

Everything was amazing! The fritto primavera was absolutely delicious! The brazino and salmon so moist and well-flavored! The Cacio e Pepe 10 out of 10; amazing pasta!!

The worst cacio e pepe I've ever been served. Mushy spaghetti, barely any pepper, sauce was basically alfredo.

Excellent repas même si la salle était bruyante. Les serveurs sont aux petits soins

The waiter barely checked on us throughout the meal. My water was empty constantly. I was thinking about dessert but it took him 30min to come back to us after we finished eating, so by that point I just wanted to go home. Then when we asked for the check, it took him like 10min to come back. The food was ok, not worth it for the prices. My pasta dish didn’t have much flavor. The lentil soup was very watery. The focaccia and meat/cheese appetizer was the highlight of the meal. Will never return and don’t recommend.

Nice setting - modern take on a classical arrangement of tables and a bar that dominates the rooms. Good service. Our waiter took the time to learn a bit about Campagna to help explain the origin of a bottle of Falanghina. We focused on their pasta: the Troffiete w pesto and pistachio was probably the most flavorful; the Orchiette w broccoli and chunks of sausage was okay. The Chitarra alla carbonara was a real disappointment - the pasta was over cooked and soggy while the guanciale was sparse which meant the dish needed a lot of salt to give it some flavor. The burrata salad was quite good

Great food and service. Great options for wine by the glass or bottle but not too many to be overwhelming. It looked like the Spritz craze was in full blown as younger diners started to fill the restaurant. The chef has put together a great menu sure to please most foodies looking for an easy yet satisfying dinner. It wasn’t fussy but it was very nice. Reminded me of some of the cafes and brasseries in Europe. My chief complaint was the temperature inside the restaurant. Since it was one of the warmest days of the year it would have been better advised to close some of the doors and crank the AC since the late afternoon was hitting the restaurant’s western exposure. Even staff seemed to be struggling with the uncomfortably warm temps. We asked to be seated as far in the back away from the open doors as possible which helped. All of that said, I would try it again on a cooler day when I visit the Windy City again.
