My wife and I schedule a date night every Saturday evening. This week we made a reservation at Modern Plate in Elmhurst. We’ve been there before and we liked it enough to return. This time the food and cocktails were terrific and the service was great. Unfortunately, the ambient volume was so high that my wife and I could not have a conversation. Also, the temperature was incredibly warm. My advice would be to turn down the noise and crank up the air conditioning.

The Southwest salad and fish and chips were great! We enjoy many items on the menu. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We come frequently because there isn’t a bad item on the menu. Our waitress Emily was very kind and attentive. She was very happy and made our meal enjoyable. You could tell she enjoyed her job. We will definitely be back.

Izzy our server was great very sweet and friendly. The the burrata chicken entree and the banana foster were my favorite. The atmosphere is nice and upscale. Definitely will be coming back

The service and the food was excellent, I was pleasantly surprised as this was my first time making reservations at Modern plate since I moved back to Elmhurst. The Old Fashioned with Buffalo Trace Bourbon was awesome! The Cajun Walleye which was outstanding!

Food was pretty good, and service was great. Beautiful restaurant, but way, way too loud. Terrible acoustics, because the restaurant was not really crowded and we were in a booth, and still had to strain to hear one another! We wouldn't go back inside because of this. Our server, Nate, was outstanding...

Food was very mediocre, much better 6 months ago. Salmon was a disappointment, just not a good quality product. Done properly, just no taste.
