We had an amazing time! The Fish is a GREAT RESTAURANT!! and HOUSTON STRONG for 16 years!! They are proud of their GOOD REPUTATION! Zachf’s review is way out of line! We LOVE THE FISH!
Don't bother. Too many other good spots to waste time on this one
Met a friend there for lunch and we were extremely pressed for time. They got us in and out in under 30 minutes...and the sushi was very fresh!
I’m definitely returning!
Absolutely love this place. Wonderful service and impeccable sushi. Will continue to dine here!
We love the Fish and their happy hour menu! The waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating.
All very good. We love sushi, so this is another option for us. Fish was fresh and adequate size portions.
Upbeat sushi spot in Houston, TX. Fun to visit on a date, for happy hour with friends, or a special occasion group dinner. The restaurant is centrally located and near fun places to hit up after your meal. I would recommend taking an Uber as parking can be a bit tight in Midtown.
For girls night out, I always choose to go to the fish because of food, service and ambiance.
I really enjoyed the sushi. I also ordered the pork katsu with curry and was not real fond of it. I am pretty picky since I am half Asian and grew up on Japanese food.
I have been to the fish many times. Food and service is always great. I will always be going back.
I love this place! Take all of my friends here when they come visit. Definitely one of my go to sushi spots. Love the food. Not so much the soy sauce that they use. There’s something different about it compared to other ones.
Great food from start to finish. Creative cocktails - try the Mango Martini, the Saki Mist (saki, Elderflower liquor)or the Saki Flight. We started with the Lobster crab puffs, Shishito peppers and Salmon skin roll - all fabulous. Then split the Whole Red Snapper (it is called The Fish, after all) which was crispy fried on the outside and delicate and delicious inside. The rolls were innovative and tasty and the Tuna Nigiri was some of the best we’d ever had, seriously melted in our mouths. We didn’t save room for dessert but maybe next time.
First time trying The Fish but we’ve recently moved down the street and all I can say is that this will be one of our new favorite sushi spots!
Amazing food, excellent service.
My son had sushi and I had vegetarian dishes.
We both had dessert.
Excellent all the way around!! Strong recommendation to dine here.
Sushi was just so so. Miso soup was the best think we ordered. Edamame unfortunately was fairly bland
Fabulous as always! We usually sit at the sushi bar but this time got a table to celebrate multiple birthdays and had a big group. Service was wonderful and food was perfect. Love this 'neighborhood' sushi restaurant!
We had a great meal at Fish. We will be back.
On point! The waiter Tri was awesome and the vibe was amazing.
It was a nice experience but it is a little loud due to it being in midtown I believe there is a much younger crowd that dines here.
Our first time here. The service was excellent, as was the food. Not to noisy.
A very pleasant experience.
Bait and switch tactics not appreciated. My pet peeve is always when the server doesn’t bother telling you what they’re out of and then tries to upsell you for the stuff they don’t have. Ankimo was good as were the Albacore belly and Sea trout. Tasty, but teensy portions for the $$. The upselling continued with the server suggesting the daily special roll to my wife. For $18, it was the most tasteless thing we had all evening. For the price, there are much better options in town.
I went to The Fish with my fiance on our anniversary and it was THE BEST food I have ever had at a restaurant! I have been nonstop recommending this place to ALL of my friends and family, I look forward to returning.
Impeccable service, and fresh, delicious food. I'll go back again.
Fab crab soup. Rolls only tasted like chili sauce. Octopus chewy but flavorful.
This is our second visit (first for dinner) and it was amazing. The sushi was great and the service was fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Great sushi and appetizers
Linda was great. She was very welcoming and the decor was nice. The miso and sushi were very tasty. The only issue I had was that the rolls fell apart completely to the touch. So, it became very difficult to eat with chopsticks.
Great food, atmosphere, and service! Sushi and wine on point.
My husband and I enjoyed our Valentine meal at The Fish. We had reservations for 6pm and enjoyed a quite and comfortable spot in a booth by the window. Even the happy hour didn't cause extra noise. Service was great and food very tasty.
This was my second time going and I finally got my hubby to go with me and he love it! Great food and atmosphere!
event though this restaurant has been around for a long time, they've managed to maintain that new restaurant service, food quality and atmosphere. The spicy garlic edamame was outstanding, sushi rolls were fresh and wonderful, service was fantastic (super friendly and helpful with our 7 yr old daughter), drinks were perfect, prices are reasonable for a family. Love that the place is super clean considering its age. We will be going back very soon!
Great Sushi and the wine special was an excellent choice. How was it? Well if I tell you I want back there the following night I think that tells you something. Love it :-)
This is was my third time there. I went on a date this time around and she absolutely loved it.
Appetizers were great and it's an excellent spot for a group get together, but we were surprised how early the kitchen closed on NYE. Other than that, I would definitely go back again!
Amazing sake options and a ton of gluten free food options. The waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and was very efficient. Overall, it was a great New Year's Eve dinner with friends.
Great place with delicious food. Service is slow so you'll be waiting around for your food for a little while since they're packed.
Great place for happy hour and girls night out. Their kitchen is under renovation tho so you can only order sushi. All in all it was good.
Great happy hour and reasonably priced good sushi. Beers on tap were also pretty good selections.
The Fish is our favorite sushi restaurant in Houston! We love their spicy edamame and the lobster roll is out of this world! The manager and staff are friendly and attentive. We will be back!
The server 192 Tina was very horrible was very forgetful care more about talking with employee instead of waiting on tables..
