We had a 5 PM reservation for four and were seated quickly—but unfortunately, that’s where the good part ended. It took 36 minutes just to get water and 45 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order (which was only one can, two drafts, and a mixed drink). The drinks didn’t arrive until we followed up—clearly forgotten. One Caesar salad showed up completely without dressing, and service throughout the night felt disorganized and inattentive. To their credit, they deeply discounted our bill to $50 for four people, which we appreciated. But honestly, the hassle wasn’t worth it. We won’t be returning—there are too many better options for a smoother dinner experience.

Kyleigh was our waitress for our group of seven and she was the best! It was a busy night with a concert that evening. She gave us a heads up that they only had one bartender so drinks might take awhile. We very much appreciated being told so we could order accordingly. Even so, it didn’t take long for our drinks to arrive. We enjoyed the nacho appetizer (could have had more topping) while we waited for our meal. The group had the Philly sandwich, fish and chips (excellent) a mushroom hamburger, and salads. No complaints from anyone-very tasty. Kyleigh very efficiently got our food out to us, kept drinks coming and water filled, and easily separated the checks for the group. Thanks, Kayleigh!

Half the food on the already limited menu was unavailable due to kitchen issues with ovens. Rooftop bar closed on a beautiful July Saturday night with a large concert next door...

Had a reservation, and they seated us 20 minutes early, which was great. Took 40 minutes to get a pizza and a side of mac n cheese; not so good. We did attend during the Blues Traveler event, but that amount of time seemed excessive. The table next to us never got their food, and the other table next to use had to go get their own small plates and a pitcher of water. Each of our tables had a different wait person, so it seemed systemic. Pizza when it came was delicious. Mac N cheese was bland.

An unfortunate night for The City Pub perhaps. Our party of two arrived 20 mins prior to our 7:00 pm reservation time. We were seated and ordered by 7:00. We ordered two burgers with fries. By 8:15 we watched as nearly all of the restaurant patrons were given vague, varying explanations on the situations and of their orders that never came. Our waitress came to our table after that hour plus and asked us how everything was. Everything was an half-empty pint glass and a watered-down soda. She told us “there are like six people in front of you, I don’t know if you want to just leave?” We saw one pizza come out in that time and it was burned. Instead of waiting further, we left and went to the concert across the street to which we had tickets and which began at 8:00, late and hungry. It’s one thing to have incidental operational failures that result in slow service or other issues. It’s another to continue on the way these folks and the manager did and not provide customers with any explanation to the nature of ongoing problems and just keep taking orders that will never be filled. We went to the Cake show hungry. We are Nebraskans, big ol’ honking Nebraskans and we don’t like being promised food which never comes. Especially when that food is simple Midwest bar food prepared from frozen materials. We weren’t looking for a gourmet meal, we were looking for a safe bet and The City Pub quite literally did not deliver.

We fully understand that it was a concert night and fully prepared to wait. The poor wait staff were put in a horrible position. Our reservation was for 6:30. We didn’t get drinks until 7. And our food arrived at 7:40 after the waitress told us it would be another 30 min at 7:35. She wasn’t going to charge us anything but we asked her to bill us something so we could tip her. She did her best to make do with a horrible situation. It says on the website that event night tables need to turn every 90 min on the website. There is no way that is happening with the way the kitchen was run. Not to mention out of several menu items. I hate to leave bad reviews but we will not recommend this place to anyone attending an event at the Astro.
