   The fish was spoiled $50 down the drain! Horrible!! The stench from the fish was unbearable. The waiter was nice but overall food experience bad!!

   I love this place. The food was great. The drinks was beautiful and tasty! The service was nice and friendly. Great date night spot! Clean restrooms. 5 stars across the board for me!

   False Advertising, Rude Management, and an Overpriced Glass of Water I was looking for a nice dinner spot on OpenTable and came across *Tulum Kitchen and Bar* in Atlanta. The photos looked great, and I vaguely remembered hearing about the place before. What really caught my eye was the "Couples Retreat" special listed on OpenTable: \$100 for two entrées, two appetizers, one dessert, and brut champagne. Sounded like a great deal—until we got there. From the moment we sat down, the experience began to unravel. When we asked about the champagne, the server casually informed us they were actually serving *Prosecco*, not champagne. As a champagne drinker, I was immediately put off—but it got worse. The staff then tried to convince me that Prosecco and champagne are the *same thing*. They're not. I politely declined and asked if they would honor the actual offer as advertised. The waiter said no. We called the manager over, and things went from bad to worse. She *admitted* the information on OpenTable was inaccurate, blamed it on “management changes,” and flat-out said she would not honor what was advertised. Her solution? Offer us a free dessert *before* we had even eaten anything. I declined. Then she offered us a shot instead—which we also declined. We don’t drink shots. At this point, I made it clear that I just wanted what was promised. She refused. Her final question? “So do you still want to continue dining?” As if the conversation was over. Needless to say, it was for us. We left—and then got charged *\$15* for the water we sipped while sorting this mess out. Yes, they charged us for water and even tacked on a service fee. It’s shocking that under new management, this is how guests are treated. If this is their idea of a “hospitality upgrade,” I’d hate to see what it was like before. This was a textbook example of false advertising, bait-and-switch tactics, and horrible customer service. I will *never* return to Tulum Kitchen and Barb

   The atmosphere was festive and the food was fresh and tasty! I was offered a mocktail that tasted as close to a cocktail as possible….spicy strawberry beverage that delighted my tastebuds! The music from the sound system was a little high….making it difficult to hear my date. Overall it was fantastic! It was our anniversary and usually we travel. We simply couldn’t this year so figured if we couldn’t physically go to Tulum, we’ll go to the next best thing!

   Before anything else I want to say the FOOD and my WAITER were amazing. The atmosphere is definitely a great vibe . Only issue I had with the place is I reserved for the couple’s retreat to surprise my lady we get there and the young lady at the counter asked if we had reservations. I told her my name and she didn’t even look at a screen to see the reservation , I continued the night and just ordered from the menu but what’s the point of reservations if it doesn’t matter . I came for the experience and I shouldn’t have to tell someone how to do their job especially for the PRICE. Great spot just wouldn’t go again .

   The food at this restaurant was undeniably flavorful, with generous portions that made the meal feel worth the price. However, the service left a lot to be desired, and the overall experience didn’t match the promise of the place. First, being required to pay $20–$40 just to park before even stepping foot inside was a major turnoff. It instantly cut into my dining budget. Entering from a side door, I found no signage or staff to direct me to the hostess or main entrance, which was confusing and unwelcoming. Once seated, my guest and I waited patiently—nearly 20 minutes—before our server even greeted us. The menu was limited, especially for chicken options. We had a few questions about the dishes, which our server answered plainly, but he seemed rushed or disengaged. After placing our drink and appetizer order, we waited another 15 minutes before seeing him again—at which point he admitted to forgetting our cocktail order. When the crab dip appetizer finally arrived, it was delicious and well-presented. During our meal, a fire performance began. While intended to be entertaining, it felt unnecessary and fell short of expectations. Our entrées arrived and exceeded expectations in both flavor and portion size. My dish could’ve easily served three people, and I was pleased to take leftovers home. That said, we only saw our server once more after our food arrived. At the end, we received complimentary shots—possibly an attempt to make up for the poor service. But when it came time to pay, the server handed us a QR code and asked us to leave a five-star review, standing there while we began. I chose not to complete mine, preferring to give an honest reflection here. Great food, but I won't be returning unless the service drastically improves

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five-Star Experience at Tulum Buckhead! Dining at Tulum in Buckhead was like being transported straight to a beautiful resort in Mexico. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere, music, and decor made us feel like we were on a tropical getaway — vibrant, welcoming, and relaxing. We started with the snapper bites and shrimp and crab rolls, both absolutely delicious and packed with fresh flavor. For the main course, we couldn't resist the 2-pound lobster special — it was cooked to perfection and bursting with buttery goodness. Every bite was unforgettable. Our server, Thaddeus, was phenomenal — attentive, knowledgeable, and made our first visit feel like we were longtime guests. His energy and attention to detail truly elevated the evening. The live music was the perfect touch, creating a lively yet relaxed vibe that made us want to stay all night. Honestly, the Instagram posts don’t do this place justice — it’s even better in person! Tulum is now officially one of our favorite Saturday spots for food, music, and gathering with friends and family. This was our first visit, but it absolutely won’t be our last.
