We recently had the most magical evening at Coral Sea Resort, where we celebrated a surprise engagement over dinner—and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The setting was absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views and a beautifully relaxed atmosphere that made the night feel so special. The highlight, though, was the incredible service. Our waiter, Alfredo, went above and beyond from start to finish. He was warm, attentive, and made sure every detail of the evening flowed seamlessly. His genuine care and enthusiasm added so much to the moment—we honestly couldn’t have asked for better. The food was delicious, the cocktails were amazing, and the whole experience left us smiling long after we left. Thank you to the team at Coral Sea Resort—and especially to Alfredo—for helping make our engagement so memorable. We’ll treasure it forever. 💍✨ Highly recommend this place for a romantic evening or special occasion

We’ve eaten here before and it has been lovely. However last night’s meal - whilst in itself was ok - was completely spoilt by a lack of customer service particularly from the maître d’. On arriving, he seemed officious without a warm welcome but just telling his staff at which table we were booked to sit. We ordered the pork belly entree, which last time was absolutely superb, but this time it was undercooked with unrendered fat. We then waited an hour and 20 minutes for our main course. We followed this up twice - the second time with the maître d’ who just said they’d forgotten to put the sauce on the side so they were remaking the meals. That’s ok - mistakes happen - but he didn’t apologise and the lack of proactive communication was frustrating while we were just left alone. Having said that, the barramundi was delicious. Then we ordered the dessert special - tiramisu. While the flavour was good, it was unset - the biscuits were still dry inside & the marscapone cream was very runny. When we left, we made mention to the maître d’ that our experience was disappointing and noted the above. To which he said that the normal wait between courses is 40 minutes and that they’d only made the tiramisu that day so that’s why it might have been runny! When we said the lack of communication and even the lack of a “sorry to keep you waiting” was disappointing, he STILL didn’t say that he was sorry our experience wasn’t a good one. We are at Airlie beach for 5 months but I doubt we will return for a meal here in a hurry - the food is good though (well, it was the first time we ate here). Maybe it was an off night. But that maître d has no idea how to put himself in the customer’s seat. Our waitress was lovely though.

The delay with your mains, the undercooked pork belly, and the unset tiramisu are all issues we’ve now addressed with both our kitchen and front-of-house teams. More than anything, the lack of warmth and communication from the maître d’ is disappointing, and I’ll be following this up personally. A simple apology goes a long way, and I regret that wasn’t offered to you. I appreciate you recognising your waitress—we’ll be sure to pass that on to her. Thank you again for taking the time to share this. I hope we’ll have the opportunity to welcome you back during your stay and leave a better impression.

Great dining atmosphere! Menu a little limited on variety but our choices were delicious. Staff were jovial and attentive. Great choice of beverages.

We had a lovely dinner - food was excellent and the location lovely with the sunset. Only one quibble which was that we were keen to order wine with our entrees but had eaten them by the time we managed to get attention. Not a big deal. Definitely going back. Highly recommend.

Expected a full dining experience but it was only "pool side menu". So we had 1 glass of wine and left. Waitress was lovely and so was the wine. But overall I came from the Gold Coast expecting a fine dining lunch. Very disappointing.

Just felt disappointed with the food as I booked this restaurant to celebrate my partner’s 30th birthday and had high expectations. Our mains were bland and there were missing ingredients in one which we asked for explanation and we were said that unfortunately they were sold out of that ingredient for the day. Quite sad especially because the kitchen should advise the floor staff prior starting the service!! My partner chose that main especially for that ingredient otherwise he’d have taken something different from the menu. We just haven’t enjoyed as we wanted!

Food was fabulous. Seafood dishes were perfection and steak was cooked exactly as ordered. Staff were attentive and interactions were enjoyable. Had a great time, definitely recommend.
