Elevator has been open at 161 North High Street for over twenty years but did you know that the building has played host to great food and cold drinks since it was finished in 1897? Today, we uphold the history and craftsmanship of the space reflected in our fresh, seasonal menu and our expansive beverage program, which includes not only beers brewed on-site but in house made draft cocktails and sodas.

Food was very good, but the website gives the impression that it is a cool hip spot. That’s why we picked it for our anniversary. The lighting was very dim. VERY dim! I’m thinking it’s to hide the fact that the place needs much repair. I didn’t dare use the restroom due to the state of the hallway at the bottom of the stairs. Thankfully the food was very good because the noise and ambiance left little to be desired. We won’t be back unfortunately.

This wasn’t my favorite dining experience. Food took a long time to come out although it was very good. Very short staffed so the waitress was not able to be as attentive as we had hoped

This was a good dining experience. The food was excellent, if a bit pricey. I acknowledge they were busy, but the service was quite slow even accounting for that. I will come back to dine again based on having had great past experiences.

This was a great find for our group of four - lots to pick from on the menu, generous sized portions for the price, and our waiter was awesome.

My finance and I had the steak on a stone and it was amazing. The price was very fair for what you get. I will definitely be going back. Just wish I knew about this gem sooner.

Very cool location and history of the building. Food was lacking…pork chops very very dry, the broccoli/cauliflower rice that came with the seabass was tasteless. Good beer selection
