We stopped by Pangaea Bistro and Bar on a Sunday around 7:30 PM. When we arrived, there was only one customer at the bar, and while another couple came in shortly after, they left before ordering. We were close to leaving as well, but the server was very friendly and welcoming, so we decided to give it a try. The appetizer: scallops Rockefeller with creamy spinach and crispy garlic was phenomenal and easily the highlight of the evening. For my main, I ordered the Wagyu burger with truffle fries, but requested a substitution for zucchini fries. The chef kindly accommodated, which we appreciated, especially since the place wasn’t busy. I normally wouldn’t order a burger at a fine dining spot, but there wasn’t much else on the menu that appealed to me. My wife had the shrimp with fried rice. Presentation was nice, and the dish was okay, but she felt it was comparable to something you’d find at a basic takeout place, not quite what you’d expect at a bistro. Overall, it wasn’t the best experience. They seem to be trying, and service was good, but the menu could use some improvement, more bold flavors, better variety, and refinement. Pricing felt too high for what was offered, including the wine. Still, we hope they continue to grow and refine the concept.

This restaurant blew us away in the best way. The location is great. The food and drinks are excellent . The value and quality of the food cannot be beat. The crab salad was lovely. The presentation and taste was superb. The skirt steak was delicious and perfectly cooked (medium well). My friend had the shrimp fried rice. She said it was delicious. The deserts were excellent. I had the cheesecake which was one of the best I’ve ever had. My friend had the apple pie. This is not your grandma’s apple pie. The crust was a thin wafer like crust. It was amazing. After dinner we went up to the rooftop. Great music and diverse crowd. Really chill out vide. This will be our new go place whenever we come to Greensboro.

Very good dinner. Highly recommend the three course dinner. All 3 courses were very good. Service also very good.

We did several plates of the shareable items among 4 of us and highly recommend! You get to try many different things and enjoy the fantastic food. Drinks are also amazing.

The food was phenomenal! I highly recommend the wild mushroom ravioli, it was one of the best things I’ve tried in months. However the price for the small plates seemed a little high for the quantity of food you are getting. Definitely worth trying this place or going when you feel like splurging because the food was really good n

Management team was stellar. Above and beyond expectations. Wait staff extremely on top of things and our waitress was incredible. Now the food, if you want the best Skirt Steak you will ever eat with BBQ corn and perfect fries, you have to eat here. The Cépage Sparkling Rose was a delightful touch. We chose the 3 course meal. We had never been to Greensboro and plan day trips based on a Google search for dining. First time ever to dine at Pangea. It is a must visit and you will not be disappointed. Thanks Pangea for an excellent dining experience. We will be back and we will share our experience!

This was our first trip to Pangaea. We have wanted to try it and my birthday fell on a Monday. Many restaurants are closed on Mondays but since they are open, we thought we would give them a visit. I think Monday represents some challenges in the restaurant world because I wanted to order a glass of prosecco, they didn't have that on the menu but they had a cava, which I also enjoy. It turned out they were out of that and then all substitutes I tried. The manager did bring a half glass of blush sparkling wine by on the house. He explained the issue with selling out of sparkling on the weekend and the distributor delivery not having arrived. That was great save! The food was tasty overall. The meat dishes were a little salty for us but the veggie or mixed dishes were very creative and well seasoned. Standouts were the plantain gnocchi, the watermelon tataki (which really surprisingly resembled tuna in both appearance and taste), and the beet and kale salad. The cabbage that accompanied the pork belly was very good and would make a great stand alone dish. The ube cheesecake was also delicious. Delicately flavored and not cloyingly sweet as some desserts can be. The value was stellar for the quality. We ate mostly tapas style but the 3 course dinner offered many choices and considerable savings if you want starter, entree and dessert. Thanks for a great experience and we look forward to adding this spot to our list of go tos, especially on a Tanger night.

I spoke with the owner and he explained that they had just switched the menu a couple of days prior and we’re still working it out. He was extremely receptive and I was very satisfied when we left.

My wife and I absolutely love this place… Favorite restaurant in downtown Greensboro for sure! This time we went with my sister and brother-in-law who were visiting from Nevada. We ordered several tapas, all were amazing of course, and once again Pangea did not disappoint. The owner, Juan, stopped by our table multiple times to make sure we were enjoying our meal and all our requests were met. Thank you again sir for another wonderful experience at your establishment. We look forward to seeing you again.
